  1. Nerwen sees Erik walk over, Erik! Stars shine on our meeting. I haven't seen you since we helped the Nôrn girl in the hovels. How have you fared? What's that you're carrying?
  2. So, how did you end up a knight here at Heroica?
  3. Nerwen takes the 55g and shield from Kiray and passes her the orcish barbed shield. For a moment, the incongruity of the dull metal plate in contrast to her shimmering sheer dress makes her smile. Agreed. Us girls gotta stick together, help each other out. Nerwen says, winking at the young knight.
  4. Nerwen shrugs, I'd part with either or both, they don't have sentimental value to me. The orc one you could have for eighty or the fire lizard one for sixty. Your shield is only worth twenty five if traded back to Anwyl and it makes little difference whether it's you or me that does it.
  5. Ta. Can I get a citation for that though, A quest reference or FAQ post? I'd look myself but I'm mobile...
  6. Still, were you interested in either of them?
  7. Lord Chauncey Level 70 Evoker *Immune to Blinded, Sealed, Asleep, Stunned, Confused, and Instant Kill* *Immune to darkness and light elemental damage* Doomed is just instant kill with a timer. Red Death Blood would' nae work, I did think of it, even if you didn't.
  8. I'm glad they're well. It's odd to think of anyone disagreeing with Denerii, she was very easy going when I met her. Nerwen shrugs, That was a while ago now. Speaking to the knight she said, I'm sorry, I didn't realise you were after a shield. I was recently a paladin and have two I no longer need. A strong orcish barbed one and a much weaker but more useful one, with immunity to blindness.
  9. Nerwen nods sadly That's what it is like. The veterans have been accepting tasks that are not heroic. They're divided, even amongst themselves as to what this organization should be, should do. Nerwen's face darkens, an obvious change now, But betrayal by a party member is the worst. There are enough challenges in the world without raising arms against one another. Nerwen's face brightens again as another hero chimes in, mentioning Dastan. You went to Dastan? You saw Rito? Tell me all that happened. I went there a long while ago, how're the Rito doing? Did you meet a Rito named Denerii?
  10. Nerwen ignores the half-Mopag making the flashy entrance as she calmly replies to Acteon. I came to Uland by boat from the Mistlands. My vow-partnership with Elladan was at an end and I was delivering gemstones to his factor here in Eubric. I took lodgings at the temple of Sem, where the novice, Johero mentioned Heoica was always looking for clerics. When younger I'd studied the healing arts and calling on the blessings of the Gods, especially Galadrya and Celeborn Gods of the Elves, so I returned to that path for a while. Being here has lead me through that to working with blood magic like the Orcs do as a shaman, and to be a stalwart shield as a paladin of Ennoc. Now I am once again a musician, a minstrel channeling power through voice and instrument. As for traditions where I am from, I am of the Mith'Quessir a silver elf of the White Tower. I follow the path and keep the ways. Your first quest was difficult? What'd you have to do?
  11. I think it's more than 9 heroes out. There's nine live quests and a fields party. #105 Lord Lawerence Boomingham, Karie Alderflask-Cour, Jeaux Elmfyre, Em, Erdathcath Madilinas #111 Leofwein Twynam, Lynne, Polly & Mr.Sanders #113 Alexander Vandangant, William Harkenshire, Thalion Dwinlas, Siercon #115 Vindsval Half-born, Zunde Xravia #116 Althior Emorith, Benji Carvenhall, Hoke Ablesword #117 Eric, John 'Hecks' Brutenhal, Throlar Wineghlim #118 Ellaria Arbour, Hybros, Bartholomew Docken, Thormanil Nihai #119 Annienal Anavir, Midrun, Warlen Melimane #120 Arthur Justus Regulus VII, Atramor Gibbon, Skrall FoG Lind Whisperer, Grimwald Gjinko, Darksten 32 in all. But the lack of quests to sign up to leaves those in the hall quiet, I agree.
  12. Nerwen smiles seeing Matthias go past then replies to Acteon. More than three years now. Which might seem long, but time moves in strange ways in the hall. Tell me about yourself, what brought you here to Eubric, to Heroica? Do you have any traditions and holy days where you're from?
  13. Nerwen smiled a warm sunny smile. Grogmas is an Orcish tradition. Long ago, Grog the Red, a tribal chieftain became known for his extraordinary generosity. Once a year, he gave away valuable treasures from his hoard to all the members of his tribe, as well as the chieftains of some neighbouring tribes. But he did it in the dead of the night, so that nobody knew it was him. Not until he was murdered by a greedy rival chieftain. Of course, war and bloodshed ensued, but the memory of Grog lingered. Even now, for one day in the year around the time of Yenearsira, winter solstice, orcs everywhere forget their feuds and anger, and give gifts to their loved ones through Father Grogmas, the spirit of the generous chieftain. The Feathered Serpent, one of our veterans, and Scherezade, our host celebrate it and we join in.
  14. Nerwen shook hands with the knight, saying Nerwen Calmcacil, Elven minstel. You've just come back from a quest? On the sea? Speaking to the dark ranger she said Winter is often a quiet time for the hall. And Grogmas is coming soon.
  15. Nerwen, now sitting in the saloon, notes a newer hero walk in. A young ranger clad in dark cloak. She nods hello as she steps to the bar to refresh her drink.
  16. Plus we're being given a pointer as to who the real power is...
  17. Mind you, The amulets did what they were supposed to. If we hadn't been wearing them, everyone would've turned against Avertine without blinking.
  18. Thats where it came from! I'll remove it from my inv. Thanks!
  19. Thanks Stick, I'm looking forward to see where minstrel!Nerwen goes too but I have a feeling she's still the same scary elf underneath. It's a compliment to be called interesting and interactive (at least, I'm reading it so). I'd love to see it pointed out to Nerwen that some are afraid of her, I think she'd be aghast that Matthias, whom she considers a friend, might fear her. This. So much this. Not that I want to be telling tales out of school but... Though now, in retrospect I can see part of what I was reacting to was the demonstration that Avertine (and by extension the quest and kinda the QM) were untrustworthy,
  20. given that the tournament should be open to everyone (who is intersted) I would think there will be cards loaned to particpants with an option to buy.
  21. Without breaking her conversation with Guts, Nerwen blows a kiss at Matthias sitting at the bar. Speaking to the tonguetied alchemist, she says. I'd love to. We've both changed so much since we last parted. But let's not dwell on the past, let's enjoy the music and food and... her voice dropping to a husky whisper ...things like that.
  22. Fixed that for you Stick. Also, it turns out Minstrel!Nerwen is quite different to Paladin!Nerwen. I know it's early yet, but I'd love to hear thoughts on that. Too much too soon or a change for the better? Boot it into the Lounge if needed...
  23. Nerwen smiles a radiant smile. She touches Guts lightly on the arm and leans in closer, saying softly, My gallant cam'wethrin. Surely I have not changed that much. I do sound different, true but it is me, lifting her longer hair to show a furled pointed ear, and we both know I am not so new here. She laughs a gentle chuckling laugh and steps back, spinning once around, saying Look again and see.
  24. My pop culture pockets aren't very deep, so I won't be going overboard. But having a 3year old girl obsesed with this song I couldnt resist...
  25. The newly begowned minstel passes through the marketplace bestowing sunny smiles as she goes. Small snatches of tune humed under her breath float around those she trades with. She sells several items to Fabian and another to Anywl Hammer (WP:6) 30g Heavy Armor (SP:5, Immune to Fragile, suitable for barbarians, knights, dragoons, skirmishers and regulators; bodywear) 115g Robe of the Archmagi (SP:3; Max Ether +5; Immune to Sealed; bodywear) 150g White Cloak (Max. HP +3, back wear) 30g She collects a total of 325gold giving her 574gold in all She then hands a battered wooden flute to Anywl who hands it back in fit condition to be used in battle 50g and buys the lesser etherial cloak 150g and leather armour 30g from Fabian. Giving him a saucy whisper in the ear, she asks him to add the scroll of sealed to the cloak. 50g. Having spend 280 gold, she returns to the hall with 294 gold.
