  1. They sound really good. I was talking about the: I bought some to try to add weight to a MOC, it turned out they would not have added enough weight anyway. So now they are on my fridge!
  2. I think we might find this creature in one of the Atlantis sets? You have an excellent alternate reading of the Space Police line BatBrick! But of course this is the beauty of Original Themes. It is up to us to create the storylines.
  3. True, but I find PAB quite expensive, and I presume these packs picked by machine would have been at a much better price point. I have appreciated the 6119 Roof Tiles pack, if only you could get a Black version, and intend to get 6117 Doors and Windows, although I think the selection is heading towards being a bit random. Now this is getting a bit off topic, I enjoy reading this thread, many good ideas in here.
  4. AWOL? Adult Who Organizes Lego? You see an acronym with A, and L, and you then try to tie it into the Lego world! When you have to go food shopping, you soften the blow by thinking you might buy an impulse Lego set!
  5. Obviously the worst thing happened to us all last week. But your pictures are exactly why I keep my cat segregated in another room if I have my Lego out. A warning to us all!
  6. Because the plate allows a connection that 'jumps' inbetween two studs. Confused me untill I found out aswell. What an incredibly usefull set that was! I wish they still did packs like that now. Looking on BrickLink they have a whole series of these parts. They sound like MOC paradise!

This sounds like a great set, I can't wait to a picture. But I am thinking I will like this set already. I would prefer yellow or orange colour scheme, as that would fit with the construction theme, but I can understand white and grey, as many of these types of trucks have those colours. The travellor set will also be a must buy for me I think. You have given good information to make up for our lack of pictures for these last mystery sets Lego have in store for us. That is a great saying, from what I understand of it. Much better than the english "give an inch and they take a mile"!
  8. I'm not really into Space, but when I saw SquidMan I knew I needed one (well two, to be honest). Now this Blacktron speculation (if true) would probably would push me over the edge (and into orbit), I hope this speculation comes true for all you Space Fans. I to would love to own some updated Blacktron sets. I think this Space Police Theme is very good, I have only bought the small sets but I really like it. The Space Police have great torso's, which are very usable in any Modern/ Future context, the Aliens are superb. From what I understand Blacktron were the baddest of the bad , so of course I would buy them. Fingers crossed!
  9. Yes this is good news, i'm sure those bricks will now be put towards a constructive purpose. Will be interesting to see the projects LegoLand have in store for the Annual Building Event.
  10. Very true. The first time I have seen Flick Fire Missiles and thought, mnnnn nice parts!
  11. I personally will not spend my money on these products, and I am thankfull to this Forum for warning me of these problems. I understand that Lego are aware of the problem and intend to rectify it in the future. Maybe you could contact them and see if they would exchange for Real MiniFig's? I would keep them segregated, in a box of their own. But I am very fussy over my Lego, so I probably take it all to seriously.
  12. I certainly hope that this Sub Theme does continue. Although more realistically we may well be seeing the last of this great concept. It may well be that Lego would do this with the theme, similar to the great construction sets that appear every few years. I think that it would fit well with the interests of the target age range, Fire/ Police/ Construction/ Tractors. I really hope so. As a child I played mainly with two types of toy, obviously Lego, and secondly Britains 1:32 Farm Models. Now I did grow up on a Farm, and had a vast range of the Britains Farm Toys, so my expierence may be different to the majority, although I do remember many of my friends at least having one or two Toy Tractors. So my wishlist, many of which are already half planned and unfinished MOC's, may well be unrealistic, as not many kids would be interested in these Lego Sets. First a set that I do think would be a great success with Child and Adult alike: A JCB Load All, surely at home on the farm or construction site. Secondly another realistic set: The Quad Bike and Trailor, a small set with great playability. Now a unrealistic set: The crop sprayer, perhaps not every Child's dream toy, although maybe this could sold with a tractor. One more unrealistic implement set: The seed drill, although maybe again sold with a tractor. The expansion pack for the Farm Set: I think some Large Shed Buildings like this could be a viable set, probably again sold with a tractor. I think some of these alongside the suggestions of peterab would be outstanding. Even if we do not see the Lego Sets, then surely they still stand as inspiration for us to MOC.
  13. What a dilemma we have here, and one that I have being thinking about since the bad news from last week. Which has prompted me to start to buy the Pirate Lego which will soon be denied to me from this, shortlived, but truly outstanding theme. So today I bought Kraken Attackin, soon will come BrickBeards Bounty, the Advent Calender, together with a mix of extra copies of Cannon Battle and the Soldiers Impulse. My main interest is in MiniFig's so I have not, or will not, buy the Fort (the funds being put instead towards building a small army of our beloved friend The Redcoat), as I will have a Governer alongside many Redcoats already. So to the horrible dilemma which Lego has thrust upon us with their mistaken decision to crush such a beautifull theme. Initially I thought a 2nd Brickbeards Bounty, to MOC into a Redcoat Ship, but then you could always do this with the collection you already have (although these two ships could never fight each other). Then of course I thought maybe, with the £50 I might spend on a second ship I might buy 20 copies of Soldier Impulse, to create a nice formation of soldiers. But that would be cheating the question. But the most sensible, given the boundaries of the question, would be of course a second copy of the Soldiers Fort, as this would give you a decent sized Fort and Redcoat garrison which your Brickbeards Bounty could attack (and of course win?). The sides could be switched and the Brickbeards Bounty made up as a Redcoat ship which could attack the fort, now occupied by the Pirates (and of course loose!). It is a sad state of affairs that this question needed to be asked.

So you don't know what you get untill you open the box? Like a 'lucky dip'? Whilst this sounds good for a surprise factor, you maybe left with pieces that you do not like. To be fair it is quite an interesting idea, and I can imagine the random selections you may have might be quite amusing. I hope to that they have sorted the problem with inferior MiniFigs out for this production run. Thankfully by reading this forum I knew to avoid the Battle Packs, and will be watching the reviews before I buy.

This MiniFig pack sounds very interesting, and what a great concept. A Clown will be the perfect accompiant to the Jester! I look forward to our first glimpse of these. And a cute little white car? Great, another must buy from the new sets. Being a City Line they should not be overpriced like the Exclusive Collections. These packs priced at a realistic level would be great, we can just keep our fingers crossed.
  16. These are some great suggestions. The Studio Theme is a goldmine of unique MiniFig parts. I would also suggest browsing the BrickLink MiniFig Heads, there are only 11 pages so it would not take to long. You will probably see lots of interesting options.
  17. I couldn't agree more, this whole project has been a complete waste of resources.

To be fair most real airports tend to comprise of acres of glass panels. A Lego Airport Set is never really going to look realistic. To attempt a MOC would be big project. I would actually quite interested in the set if does not include the red airplane, because glass panels are very usefull in all sorts of circumstances.

This Piglet set looks great, the sideways ladders as fences are perfect. The tractor is looking good, although I might need to modify mine to incorporate a back window (even though most have the back window open, the Lego render just looks a bit unfinished to me). Four Piglets and two MiniFigs is quite a nice amount. The piglets look great, (different in style to the Classic Horse, they will look nice next to the Lego Cows). I think this set is the best of the new line up by far.

For me using those pieces for the tank is not a problem. The 2007 Cement Mixer is constructed in the same way with two large and unusable pieces, but I really like the Model, and have no plans to ever take it apart. I am willing to embrace a small amount of juniorization in specific circumstances, although really it is a personal opinion. Although I do think that these type of pieces would do an equally good job, and be much more usefull for people to MOC with. Yes this does look a chunky and quite realistic model, much better than any other recent Lego 4 x 4 Design. This is deffinetly one of the Fire Sets that I will be buying.
  21. Totally agreed. I didn't think I would be bothered with this theme (apart from BrickLinking some of the more usable MiniFigs and Accesories), but this set looks like a goldmine of very usable Dark Tan and Dark Blay pieces. I'm actually getting quite interested in what the other sets consist of now.

I hadn't really noticed the Big Horrible Red Thing (I was to busy drooling over the gorgeous Octan Tanker), but... Spot on, it does look like Playmobile, not like Lego. I can't see a single stud on it. Agreed. And the same with the Airplane. I had the Classic Town Aircraft from the 80's (great as aircraft, or you could use the pieces for anything you liked). The modern large Lego aircraft (whilst looking reasonably realistic), just don't look like Lego. This must be very disapointing for any Adult Fan of Lego Aircraft.
  23. Absolutely, and whilst the Lego Company will market this theme with the glimmer of hope that the human's will win in thier battle with the unknown... I am quite sure that when faced with the might of Atlantis these pathetic MiniFig pests will be crushed, never to reach the surface again...
  24. I think it is getting better each pic I see. The Octopuss King looks so sweet, those golden gates look very usefull, and large Dark Tan Plate Pieces (landscape MOC heaven!). Although the set looks smaller than what I had imagined, I still think it is an absolute winner. The large red vehicles are not really my cup of tea, (although they do look very realistic as a Future Underwater Exploration Vessel, with a very streamlined shape), but what I presume are Black Vehicles look even better now.

I'm sorry, but apart from the fact that that is a Fire Boat, it looks nothing like the Lego version. Lego employs talented staff to develop new sets and themes, whilst Far Eastern Clone Brick Manufacturers employ drones to render existing Lego Designs, and Themes, into an inferior quality medium. New Pictures Linked By Black Rabbit The Octan Tanker is beatifull, everything I had hoped for. Fits perfectly with the excisting trucks (the container truck & flatbed from construction site). It's like they have updated the Classic Town Shell Truck, to the City 21st Century standard, with the same elegance of design that the Cement and Garbage Trucks display. That looks like a great set. I'm not to into Airports, but I love the Yellow Seaplane, and the curved windows of the airport terminal look excellent. The inside of the Airport Terminal looks relatively well detailed to be fair. A green dustbin? Yes Please! I just wish the Piglet Set was displayed aswell, but I am more than pleased with these sets. The Tanker Truck has exceeded my expectations! A great find
