  1. Funnily enough, the 8067 B-model is a tow truck.
  2. When in doubt, call in the experts.
  3. Mainly for the treatment of squirrel bites.
  4. Great to see some B-models! First off, the 42070 - uhhh. 'Research Explorer Vehicle'? Seriously, this could have been a huge logging machine! Not impressed. I do like the '69 (dudes!) B-model; would go great with the Arctic Truck A or B. Something does seem off about having a snowcat with 'TURE' splashed across the side of the cab, though. '68 B looks cool; I like the boat, and the truck looks on a par with 8289. Another B that looks better than the A? Possibly...
  5. Could happen. Dog bone's pretty cool for now though.
  6. Nice to see a final picture of the 42070 (y'know, with the switch facing down). The engine does look a bit anaemic, though - with all the bells and whistles stuffed into that truck, you'd think LEGO would stretch to an L6, or at least a V-something. Oh well.
  7. Time will tell. I can't figure out why the number was missed.
  8. I'm liking this idea. Although I still think it's highly likely that the B-model is going to be something forestry-related.
  9. Actually, going back to the attachment idea, it might be that the 42070 alternate models are different arm/crane attachments, like 8436. The boom on 42070 does have the same sort of look as the 42054 crane, so it might be reconfigurable in the same way.
  10. I wouldn't think it'd be that. There's nowhere to attach it.
  11. It is bloody overpriced! It's a good-looking bit of equipment, but a good-looking price tag to go along with it wouldn't go amiss.
  12. Could be a forwarder. I know, there's no logs - or so you might think. The 8416 skidder B-model had logs made from spare parts; sure, they're a bit square, but you can pick them up with a claw... A certain model of Rottne forwarder has six wheels as well, so it could be a possibility.
  13. Okay! One set's B-model down, two more to go! Despite 42070's price, I'm wondering if that one's alternate build might make it worth the dosh. I'm also wondering what else you can do with 42068. Not enough wheels for two buggies, like 8454... a buggy and a bike, mayhap?
  14. Mobile research base? Sounds like that'd go great with the Arctic Truck!
  15. I'll drink to that! I own 8295 and think it's cool, though its weight and size do work against it. The B-model is smaller, lighter and thus better, and keeps the steering system. I love 8283 as well; mine's a replica, though - it's prohibitively expensive in box now! 42061 does steer best when it's moving, though it's still really clever for its size and the rigid wheels get a good turning circle, much better than the reach stacker from 42062 (which is still awesome).
  16. A lot of people say that 42061 is the successor to 8283, but I do think it has more in common with 8295, particularly considering the LA and four-wheel steering. It does have the bucket stickers and colour of 8283, though. Best of both worlds?
  17. Off-road tow trucks sometimes don't feature a fork, presumably because the truck might be needed to pull a vehicle out of a deep hole. A fork would do no good in that situation. I think it looks good too. The grill's a bit lazy, but other than that it's pretty cool. Plus, six tractor tyres - that's me sold!
  18. Nice to see some momentum on the forum again. I think the list of sets for this year is final, and I'm fine with that. Cars aren't my bag. Roll on the tow truck!
  19. I'd say so. Every model I know of has at least a few parts left over.
  20. I'd think that tracks would require more power, especially on smooth surfaces. Also, there'd need to be one motor for each track, as tracked vehicles can't actually 'steer' like wheeled vehicles do. I'm sure LEGO have some tricks up their collective sleeve, or at least Uwe Wabra does. Hopefully. I'm looking forward to knowing more.
  21. I like his 42023 scraper model, which I think really illustrates that point. It uses such a limited selection of parts and has some clever functions.
  22. No, Uwe Wabra is. He might have meant 42069.
  23. Note the MR on the side of the passenger door - Milan Reindl? Looks like the sort of thing he'd design. The 'Zulu' logo from 42066 also appears at the back; I laughed when I read the 'Air Philters' one. The driver side door is up; I like the way that opens! I assume the other door does the same. Track links on the roof as well - spares for the drive units? There's so much to point out here, so I'll leave it to others to point out the rest!
  24. I'm more interested in the B-models for the big three. Right now my interest in the big truck kind of rests on what else you can do with it. Ditto the other two.
