Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Probably some large pieces, and just being a comparably-sized set overall. -
What should or should not be on Lego Ideas?
Blondie-Wan replied to Wodanis's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It's also possible they didn't realize what it was. They might have just looked at the image and title, and skimmed over the text (or even not read it at all, just relying on a filter to catch swear words and such). I kind of expect that project to get archived soon, as soon as someone realizes it refers to a recent real-life tragedy. Yep. It's particularly worth noting that Ideas projects tend to draw votes from outside LEGO fandom; surely a lot of fans of cars, planes, movie franchises, or whatever set up accounts specifically to vote for projects they saw on social media, and if they aren't fans of LEGO in general they may have no idea what sort of price is reasonable for a set of a given size, piece count, or whatever. -
If Lego Indiana Jones got rebooted...?
Blondie-Wan replied to legosamsonite's topic in LEGO Licensed
I consider both of them and all the other Indy sets essential (but then, I would; I mean, just look at my avatar). -

Indeed there is! I think that idea was effectively communicated to them already when they not only got a flurry of Doctor Who projects the instant they announced they would start accepting projects based on the theme, but saw not one but two of them each reach the 10,000 supporters mark within a month (entering the same review batch as one another, in the second instance of two very similar projects based on the same licensed property competing against one another, after the two Ghostbusters Ectomobile projects a couple review periods earlier). Those two projects are the second- and third-fastest vote-getters in CUUSOO / Ideas history; only the Minecraft project was faster, and the fact that not one but two substantially similar projects each managed to get their votes so quickly at the same time (while competing with still other Doctor Who projects, too) had to send a clear message to TLG that there was a serious demand for official LEGO Doctor Who. And I'm confident that appraisal will be proven right by the sales.

Walmart had the Portal pack listed before it was even announced, though.

I don't know whether this is meant as a joke or not.

No, everything we've seen says she (in her Portal Level Pack) is part of Wave 1. She should therefore be available in just a few days now.

I think so, though it depends on what one thinks is good, of course. If you look for me in the app (I use the same screen name there as here)you can see what I've gotten.

If Lego Indiana Jones got rebooted...?
Blondie-Wan replied to legosamsonite's topic in LEGO Licensed
I am so kicking myself for not getting the Scorpion Pyramid. I could have picked it up at Target when it was clearanced for half off, but I was hurting for money and I thought I'd take a chance it would get clearanced even further - nope! It's the only boxed set I missed in the theme (I also missed out on the blister-packed "battle pack", but got all the boxed sets smaller than the pyramid). Oh, well. ________________ That Grail Temple LEGO Ideas project I mentioned earlier is now just 83 votes from a thousand (and the extension that comes with it), but with only five left now, I doubt it'll make it. I hope I'm wrong, though... -
If Lego Indiana Jones got rebooted...?

But besides being essentially thematically identical to the original Egypt-based Adventurers subtheme, the character names clearly appear to be at the very least a nod to those of the earlier characters. -

There has in fact already been one Adventurers / Indy-style theme since the Indy line ended, actually - Pharaohs Quest, which seems to be connected to Adventurers and could be considered an extension of it in all but name. -
Nothing "sorta" about it; it's definitely a classic. That said, I'm not sure it would lend itself to this sort of game as easily as some other properties.

Oh, I haven't paid a penny for the digital cards, though there are some that do. But I have been enjoying the app. There's something to do with it every day, which isn't the case with my physical card collection. But even so, I am with you in not wanting to pay for virtual collectibles.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
Blondie-Wan replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I sometimes see it given both the skeletal portrayal and the female personification simultaneously. -
That's a very funny coincidence. Prolific builder Karf Oohlu posted this earlier today, and I thought, what kind of piece is that black thing? And the answer pops up here only a few hours later... That tail is a DUPLO element? I never knew that, and I have 4094 Motor Movers! I remember looking up that parts and another one in the set on Peeron once, and not finding anything other than this one set, so I thought they must have been created specifically for it and never used again.

The latest "Delivery!" trailer has appeared: This one departs slightly from the others in that it features one of the performers as the recipient rather than one of the characters - but I guess that's to be expected when the original character is still LEGO. It'd be peculiar having a "live" LEGO character receiving a "normal" version of herself in a box to put together and onto the toy pad... Also, I think this is our first look at one or two alternate builds for the side items, is it not? Also also, it's kind of odd hearing a character from The LEGO Movie actually say "LEGO"...
-
It's rare, but it does happen. The 2009 Toys 'R' Us Bricktober promo giveaways included four DUPLO elements and two "regular" LEGO "System" elements that were meant to be combined into a single simple build. The ball used for the boulder in the Indiana Jones set 7623 Temple Escape is technically a DUPLO element. I know there are a few others, though I don't remember them all off the top of my head.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

Finally picked up my first one yesterday, randomly grabbing the witch. I do plan to get them all - this series is awesome! Why would it do that? Death is frequently personified as female. -
I've been getting a lot of the digital cards in Topps' Star Wars Card Trader app lately. I know there are various current / recent series of physical cards that I haven't been getting (yet), but I did collect a bunch of the older sets back in the day (ranging from the original 1977 Star Wars Series 1 to Star Wars Galaxy Series 3), and while I haven't exactly been active with these lately, collecting and trading to better complete my collections is something I've always meant to get around to, even if it's not exactly at the top of my priority list. This extends not only to non-Topps Star Wars lines (there have been a few non-Topps Star Wars trading card series, mostly promotional things), but to non-Star Wars lines as well, particularly Indiana Jones. In fact I've actually paid more attention to Indy than Star Wars lately when it comes to physical cards, as I've picked up a few unopened packs of two of the three different Indiana Jones sets from 2008 lately on visits to my comics shop over the last several months. There aren't nearly as many Indiana Jones cards to obsess over as with Star Wars, of course. I've actively collected six different sets: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992) Indiana Jones Heritage (2008) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) Indiana Jones Masterpieces (2008) All of those are from Topps, except for the Young Indy series from Pro Set.

I picked up this year's Star Wars Advent Calendar today, along with the free Star Wars -Episode II: Attack of the Clones poster.

I would think Daleks would work as rooks, and maybe have Weeping Angels as either bishops or knights. Perhaps Sontarans could be knights.

If Lego Indiana Jones got rebooted...?
Blondie-Wan replied to legosamsonite's topic in LEGO Licensed
There's stuff missing from The Lord of the Rings (and The Hobbit), but I'd argue there's at least as much missing from Indiana Jones. For one thing, the sets were based entirely on the four feature films, and the TV show (which amounts to roughly 80% of the entire screen production running time of the franchise) is entirely absent. Even going just by the four features, there are still many major characters and scenes missing. Of course there's also a bunch of stuff missing from the Middle-Earth movies, and I'd like more sets in both franchises. But at the same time, I do think we were lucky to get as much stuff as we did. I just wish I could have gotten more of the Middle-Earth stuff myself (but I'm glad it's in LEGO Dimensions, at least; I just hope I can get the game myself!). -
