  1. This merry-go-round would never pass the health and safety act. The floorboards dont meet. I can imagine the kids legs becoming even shorter after falling in there and getting cought in the machinery. The exposed battery unit is... well, I cant even describe it, its that hiddious... And the minifigs.... There is lots more I dont like about this set. It looks like an unfinished MOC. If it were my MOC I would be proud, but I can't imagine this being released as a official LEGO set. Nope, not impressed. Nice idea, but poor execution.
  2. Don't laugh, but I just bought this: It's the 2005 7242 Street Sweeper. After all the building activities in the new town, the people now want clean streets. It's actually more fun than I expected. Very unusal set. Normally you get a car, truck, police, etc. This is different. The brush thing articulates in all directions, and the sucker can also be positioned very accurately. I also love the facial expression of the sweeperman; I bet he'd rather be in the pub with a cold pint right now. Here a mugshot of the poor guy:
  3. Great review again! I like love the fake tan look, motorcycle, and bad guy torsos. Otherwise not greatly impressed.
  4. Even I am excited and I'm not even going! Just been reading the Gunzburg threads: sounds like a great event to come. I have to be in Germany on the 15th, so had the event been one week earlier I would have attended! Well done to all the organisers
  5. Are you in marketing/sales: you know how to sell things! What can I say: yes, I like the set! It'll definately be on my shoppinglist. I think Indiana Jones has a few very good sets coming this year. Good: 4x minifigs, barrel, plate, tommy. A donkey in front of the cart would have been nice.
  6. LOL! Now why didn't I think of that?
  7. Usually after shopping in the Mall I grab a snack there: sushi, pizza, burger & fries and drink, or so. But after overspending -again- at the LEGO store I don't have that snack and drive home with a shrivelled stommach. Then at home I quickly raid the fridge, wash hands and start building. Depending on the amount I have spent I will have cheaper food in the following days.
  8. Fractures: 0 @ I Scream Clone: Cooties:0
  9. $3 ?! Damnit... urgently gotto get out there for a LEGO hunt....
  10. Congrats! So how many versions of the 4032 do you have now? Whats your next mission?
  11. I hear you bro, I hear you.... Been there, tried that, and failed... I ended up spending another £60 or so the other day despite my resolutions.
  12. Hi Mikey Nice -first- review! Only comment: pics are good but a bit small so can't really see details and box content. Pls see the guidlines for ideal pic size. I agree with you: Like: winch -I love gadgetty things- doors -has also gadget factor- Dislike: minifig head -mini figs in City are never spectacular, but why this ugly head??- blue warning lights -should be yellow- another one of those ugly oversized walky-talkies I like the set for that price, and most likely I won't be able to stop myself form picking one up for a quick fix. Thanks for your review!
  13. After having had a billion usernames rejected on registration -on a different site but same day- and getting the message "user name invalid" I ran out of ideas, so I entered UserNameInvalid. To my surprise this name was accepted.
  14. Here: Grunge is in the air... Pearl Jam bootlegs and demos To be followed by Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged
  15. Obvious question: what are you planning to build? Love the ANWB set. Brings back memories. I might have one somewhere aswell. In the last few days I bought lots of stuff: 7991 Recycle Truck 7990 Cement mixer -will disappear off the shelves soon- 7631 Dump Truck 7630 Front-end Loader 7241 Fire Car -bad design- 7235 Police Motorcycle 5612 Police Officer -built in the bag- 8398 BBQ Stand -built in the bag- 8397 Pirate Survival -built in the bag- 5610 Builder -built in the bag- Minifig Doctor Keyhanger 9 self build minifigs with not so common heads and torsos, bought in-store 2 Brick Separators -brilliant invention! How could I have done without them!?- Waiting for the new collections to reach the shelves. And ofcourse big sales!
  16. Very good review! And great set. I like it and might get it. Only comment: why do the new lego females all have faces like drag queens? Too much red lipstick, blue eyes, eye shadow and false lashes. I also didn't like Willies dress in Shanghai Chase: too draggy -OK, you may shoot me now.-
  17. Don't the bricks get damaged and scratched in a washingmachine?
  18. No set.... Not even a part.... Nothing....
  19. OMG! *feeling sick of envy* *rushing to old-paper-bin, going through the local adds for car boot sales* You ARE the KING!
  20. Brilliant! Love how you did the birds! Great MOC all together! Edit: I just had a look at some of your other MOCs. I had not come across them yet. -Sorry, I'm new here- Love them. They really tell a story. Very well done!
  21. Nice, as always tack-sharp, but to my taste you've gone a bit over board with photoshopping. All is too blue and over saturated. Yeah, I know: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Seeing all the positive comments on your flickr pages I am clearly in the minority. BTW I have now purchased a 0.5W led light/torch which gives similar effect as your iPod Touch light. Am now finetuning my technique with help of your advice given earlier. *so much to learn, so little time*
  22. Yeah... just rub it in... thanks...
  23. Interesting question and answers. Can't believe that a Lego shop in Legoland can be so poorly stocked. Also the PAB should be enormous, at least that's what I expected. So disappointed. I also would like to know where one can get some discounted -last season- lego. Woolworths is no more. I've never seen anything at TK-maxx. Occasionally TRU (I hate TRU) or Argos and Tesco have special offers. Lego stores sometimes also have some good in-store deals, but the only way to find out whats on sale is to go there. Thats all the cheapish sources I can think of, other than carboot sales etc ofcourse.
  24. Brickset says 53. 6 weeks ago there were none. They're like rabbits, I tell you!
