That is HUGE! Very impressive! I know... big MOC needs big pics and all that... But can you pls resize your pics before posting? It took quite some time to load.

Yeah, what happened?

Very good! Also good to have a doctor there, doing his free walk-in STD clinic. (I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt )

Impressive... Fascinating... Always interesting to hear people talk about their passion. I guess you're living the dream. -
Average amount spent on Lego in a year
UserNameInvalid replied to Zane's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ah... thanks. I didn't find this thread in my search. Apologies. Oh boy..... Is there still anything in your collection that you don't have? I mean, if you have spent so much, assuming since some years, you must have everything. What do you spend it on? And why? Is it an obsession? - Just trying to understand - -
Average amount spent on Lego in a year
UserNameInvalid replied to Zane's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've spent about £250 in the last 6 weeks (just returned from dark ages). I think it's actually a bit excessive. Seeing the enormous collections some people have, I keep wondering what they spend on LEGO per month. I have seen the thread about how much a collection is worth, but this is a different question. So question: On average how much do you spend per month -or per year- on LEGO? -
Thanks for your great and accurate review! I now have the Dozer aswell and I think its a great design. I love it! Looking at the pictures posted in replies it is a very accurate replication of the real thing. Well done LEGO! A part from the cabin, its a very solid build. You mentioned the delicate cabin and having difficulty swooshing the model. Try holding the model by the two stickered bulges at the cabin and stabilising the rear with the rest of the free fingers. Bit worrying: I had a spare yellow 1x4 brick. Was it a spare or ....? I got it for £15 and is well worth the money.

Do you keep your Lego Boxes?
UserNameInvalid replied to RememberTheLittleGuy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Currently I do keep the boxes. Don't ask me why. I won't be selling my LEGO anyway. Although I pack the bigger boxes with smaller boxes, they are still very very BIG and take up lots of space. So I don't know how long I will keep this up. And why LEGO, why do the boxes need to be so big? It's a waste! The instructions I ofcourse keep. All nicely protected in these plastic document sleeves. As are all the receipts and catalogs. I guess I'm a bit of a hoarder. -
Wauw! Great job! Agree on previous comments. Also hands are bit big. Mind you, I wouldn't be able to do anything like it! Well done! Be proud!

Don't worry, your secret is safe with me! An iPod touch... What a great find! So you use only one light source? No flash, no desk lamp? The effect on the backdrop is also great. I guess I could use a colour gel with a ledlight torch and get a similar colour effect. Will give it a try! Thanks for sharing!

What parts do you wish were on PaB online?
UserNameInvalid replied to jonwil's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd like the crates back, and lettuce hair. (I had them in the PAB bag but overnight they changed the prices and collection and lost my entire selection. ) More minifig stuff: More heads, incl pink More hair More torso's Hands in several colours Food Animals and dragons, etc Bicycle, red and black (!) Etc, etc -
To Minifig, or not to Minifig...
UserNameInvalid replied to k_peek_2000's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Minifigs are good. I like them and have a weakness for them. Having a minifig in the set is not an absolute must though. Usually a minifig does complete the set I think. The sets I would buy are either because of the design, the parts (space skulls) or the minifigs. -
Very nice pics! Well done! I've been trying that as well but am struggling with the indoor lighting (shadows, equal lighting, reflection, etc.) I am using a DSLR with a remote flash, desklamp and some reflectors and diffuser but i'am never happy with the result. Can you give some tips please? What do you use? Can you post some set-up pictures please? Much appreciated!

PAB Cups: What Did You Get?
UserNameInvalid replied to ACCURATEin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nice demo! Thanks. Unfortunately in the UK the lids are behind the counter, so can pack much less in a tub. Another example where we get ripped off in the UK. -

I'll carry them... Might not carry them to your home though. * streching and warming up muscles and planning quick escape route* -
Was bored -and greedy- today so bought too much. Increased the minifig population by 23. 3x Shanghai Chase 7682 1x Race for the Stolen Treasure 1x Agents Mission 3: Gold Hunt 1x City Dozer *currently bleeding from wallet*
-
Darn you guys, now I ended up with 3x Shanghai Chase aswell. (Boosting the minifig population) Also Stolen Treasure (more minifigs and swooshable item), Mission 3 (Nice Gold Tooth with gold hair) and the humongous City Dozer (size does matter!). Total savings £37
-
Dunno, sorry. Hadn't seen the 3 for 2 deal. Thanks. Nice harvest BrickBitz! Now gotta think of a cunning plan how to get the mission 1 even cheaper with the 3 for 2 deal...
-
Yeah! We need some Easter deals in the UK! Toys R Us USA is also much more generous than TRU UK. It's not fair!
-
Toys R Us (in-store offer): £10 gift voucher if you spend over £40 on lego. Voucher reclaimable between April 22 till somewhere in June Tesco direct: Agents Mission 1 for £3.98 or so in stead of rrp £7.98

Hi there, I've read so many stories about the great hauls and loots people got at in-store PABs especially in the USA. Am now looking for the best place to go in the UK. Milton Keynes has only a small collection. I've not been to Brighton or Blue Water or the one in Legoland. I am ver fortunate to live at max 2 hours drive away from all of them, Blue Water being the furthest. Recently I emailed Legoland to find out if you can shop without buying an expensive ticket to legoland. They replied that you must buy a ticket, but can get a refund if you exit the park within 30 min. So can anyone tell me about the PAB walls in the UK. And is it worth going to the one in Legoland? And what about in-store special offers: many offers in Legoland, or are they the same as online? Thanks! UserNameInvalid

Secret lego fans
UserNameInvalid replied to Melbourne pirate fan '87's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi, My name is UserNameInvalid and I'm a LEGOholic... Wow, that felt good confessing this out loud... Interesting stories, guys! Especially martinsupers story is great and very touching! My story: As a child I used to play with LEGO. Got a bit older and other things got my attention. Recently I gave a set of lego Ferraries (#8168) to my 6 yr old nephew which we assembled together. We had a great time and my love for Lego grew once more. Now, since a few months I started buying new lego sets again. I am supposed to be a responsible adult and have a busy stressful job, and am surrounded by highly intellectual colleagues -the kind that likes to talk/brag about their latest scientific publications-. Recently I confessed I had bought some LEGO for myself. This did not go down well. So now I do not mention it anymore. If asked I will not deny my love for lego but I will not spontaneously bring up the topic. Since I live far away from my family, I have not mentioned my newly found hobby yet to them. Playing/building with LEGO stimultates dexterity and fine motory functions which I do need in my job. To me it also stimulates the creative mind and is a bit of escapeism. Collegues of mine do sometimes play computergames, which in my view do not have the additional benefits as lego does, but is much more accepted oddly enough. Spending 30 grand on the newest mercedes or ferrari, or the lightest and fastest tour-de-france bicycle with colour matched super soft breathing ergonomic bunny-leather bicycle gloves are apparently the thing to do. Well, I'd rather buy a lego bicycle or ferrari and colour match the minifigs hands. So who cares... Everybody has his own hobby or oddity. As long as there is lego, I will continue to enjoy/collect/use/love/admire it! And I have another very good to visit my nephew (who also has my old lego). BTW, I never knew there was such a humongous lego community out there! Amazing! Now back to sorting out my lego S@H basket... £220 is a tad too much... What set to throw out?... Decisions, decisions... Nice to meet you all!
