I agree on lots mentioned here in previous posts: It's a great set, but has a few issues. The flag, tree, bley, fridge etc could be better. But overall I really like the set. And it looks great next to the GG, CF, and MS. The proportions are just right. The tree, flag and other things can easily be modified to ones liking. It's a good price for the set, but I don't think I'll get it as it is over my budget. Still it is on my whish list along with the GG, CF, and MS. Just curious: minifigs clearly eat and drink, but do they not have a bladder and bowels? Do they not have sanitary needs? Or do they have a special digestive system that is super efficient? Or are they not potty trainable? I cant remember seeing a toilet in any of the official TLG buildings. -please correct me if I'm wrong- I guess due to the relative thickness of the 1 stud walls space is an issue and TLG designers must make a choice what rooms go in and what don't.

Thank god! I thought I was abnormal, but there are more like me here. *opening arms for group hug* The bricks must be lined up perfectly. The mould marks must be hidden. If I can't control my OCD, then the logos must be lined up aswell. All visible fingerprints must be whiped off immediately. I wash my hands before Legoing. Bricks with scratches or other imperfections get used only in case of emergency.

LEGO Photography: Share Interesting Finds Here

Interesting: all the above links -except one- link to balakov's work. So I guess we all agree. -
I have admired your videos on you tube for a while. I think they are amazing! Congrats on third place! Is there a site where I can see the contest entries and other winners? Edit: already answered in previous post. If I had the patience I would love to give brickfilming a try aswell. The average 5 minute brickfilm, how long does it take you to complete?

How Do You Source Your Parts
UserNameInvalid replied to Ricecracker's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I get most of my lego by buying sets. I keep the sets built and 'on display' in a box. I did buy a couple of PaB buckets from instore, but thats quite expensive and usualy the wall hasn't that what you need. I am now looking for other sources. Have just discovered carboot sales -bit of a hit and miss, and very time consuming-. And am thinking of using Bricklink. -
Went to a carboot sale yesterday. The 'bootloot' was a few old small sets, oldest was from 1993. Not very special sets but always fun to get Lego for a good price -most expensive one was £1-. Ofcourse I've spent most of the evening cleaning it. Now off to another carbootsale! The early bird catcheth the worm.

Recently bought all current impulse sets and love all of them! Each little set makes a scenario and has one main character. They're also easy to display when space is an issue. The biggest sets I've ever bought are medium size. I love the design and love putting it all together -sad when the build was complete-. So I did not vote because I have no preference.

Whats so special about him? I mean, why is this bloke so expensive? And what makes a minifig expensive? (Not talking about chromies, goldies, or silvies) I mean, some are very rare, only ever appeared in one set and look nice but are cheap as chips. Please enlighten... *puzzled*

Thanks. Got 2 items. Am in desperate need of another fix: anyone spotted more interesting sales? Maybe Milton Keynes Lego shop in store sales?

Agree! For £1 each I would not think twice of getting a couple! Great invention. Wish it was mine...

UserNameInvalid replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Windsor, that's next door to me! So yes I'll be there! (If I am still in the UK that is. Might have moved abroad by then.) Looking forward to it already! And ofcourse CMs goody bag! -
Oh boy... Am so jealous now. Lots of those sets are on my shopping/wish list aswell. Am waiting for sales. So Xmas came very early this year?

I don't like teasers. Hate cliffhangers. C'mon, show us the real thing!

Where is there? Just curious, might plan a trip to there next year aswell. I'll start saving now too. -
Is it a MOC? Is it a new set? Very well done! Would like to see Cousin It in the set aswell. Creating her might be challenging though. And for jokes a minifig hand as Thing.

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
UserNameInvalid replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Romans seems to be a recurrent request. So why not Asterix and Obelix theme? There are many great characters in these comics. Lots of historic events woven into the adventures. For those who've never heard of Asterix: Asterix official site -

Stupid question maybe, but a chrome DV, is it a metal minifig, or a plastic one with a chrome like finish? -
The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
UserNameInvalid replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
The academy has delivered some very good reviewers! I'd love to join aswell. Need help with lighting and structuring the review. -
No way... 27 euros? Special Starwars price? Compensating for failed PAB repricing? Nice rodent, nice review, so-so set, extremely overpriced. For me: it's a 'no' mainly because of the price. BTW good oversized box demo. TLC pls take note!
-
Yes. Clearly you have aswell. Did you get some too? I wonder what they do with the minifigs: there were none in any of the 8 bags I checked.

Just curious to see if I had a good deal or not. It's brand new lego: instore 2008 display models in pre-mixed bags. Without greasy fingerprints or dustbunnies. Got 5 bags. Payd £5.35 per bag, which is I think 500 or 750 grams each (don't have scales). One bag free with my gift card. Unfortunately relatively many Indiana Jones grey and technic bits. Some nice items. Most important: I can start MOCing now without taking bits off my complete sets. Its certainly cheaper than PAB, but is it a good deal?
