Clearance sales vary so much by location that having threads about them is almost useless. Clearance happens when they get notified that a set is no longer going to be shipped to them, and they have newer inventory that needs the shelf space, if stuff stays on the shelf too long, the price normally just keeps coming down until someone buys it, so the fact that someone got a set for under a buck, is really not a reason for all of us to rush to Target.

As someone who doesn't have it and wished I'd bought it, I have this reasonable statement to make. Something is only worth as much as someone else is willing to pay for it. Is $1800 insane for a set originally priced at $500?, of course it is. But it's warranted, why supply and demand, the supply has plummeted and those with the set now set the price, also the fact that if they sell their copy and ever want another they will have to pay this same ridiculous price, which makes them want to list theirs for even more. It seems outrageous to us, but ask someone who has one, "Can I buy yours?" If they are a true AFOL, they will likely say hell no, because they know it's a collectors item, shoot LEGO sold it as one. My point is, well I'm not sure any more, but obviously someone somewhere is willing to pay roughly that much or else they wouldn't have priced it so high, and if it is truly too high, the market will speak and the seller will be forced to reduce the price or settle for never selling it.

Nice review, a little studio would do your good pictures even more justice. This was never my theme of choice, but I do appreciate LEGO making different themes like this.

This thread seems to be turning into a display of ridiculous ebay auctions, and it's kind of funny.

I seriously need a better job, as if the collectable figs weren't draining my bank account the way things currently are. I may just have to pursue the figs this time.

It reminds me of that skit, where everyone is a doctor, and so everyone keeps addressing each other as Doctor. Doctor, Doctor, Doctor, Doctor, Doctor. I can't remember what it's from though.

These are not new videos, I've seen them both posted on this forum before. Plus if you look at the copyright date at the end, it's 2006. LEGO likely was doing some cleaning of old content and decided to throw them up on their channel.

We need to remember that this is a global site, and anyone outside of the US probably won't care. Plus I don't see alot of value in this thread, the conversation can't go anywhere except, I'm hot.

I like it, it's refreshing to see a small craft that doesn't look like it came straight our of Star Wars. It looks like a ship from a video game I've played before, but for the life of me I can't think if what it is called.
