All other new 2007 sets (including new theme)
Zarkan replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I certainly hope I'm right, too, as if it was a Alpha Team Deep Sea like theme or something like Dino Attack under the sea, well... :-X ~~END~~ -
Y'know, the animation was a bit reminisant of the old batman tv series, what with all the sounds (growling, whip slashing) having onamonapias (sp?) to acompany them. ;-) ~~END~~

All other new 2007 sets (including new theme)
Zarkan replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hey guys. After looking at the names of the new Aquaraiders kits carefuly, I've created a possible dirrection TLC might be taking with this theme. Lots of this is pure speculation, but just the names themselves give a lot of intetesting info. Basic Story: Hundreds of years ago, a ship laden with treasures sunk deep into the ocean. Now, a brave team of explorers, scientists, and divers has been assembled to find that ship and bring back the loot inside its hull. But, what they don -
To mod or not to mod (not for squeamish readers!)
Zarkan replied to Brickthus's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For me, only painting parts is okay. I don't like seeing parts cut up and rebuit, as it kind of ruins the whole idea of being creative and finding a non-mod way to build something difficult. Painting is okay for me, but I prefer it to only be used when making custom minifigs (think starwars). I'd never try to modify a part, as I wouldn't want to damage it permanetly, when there were dozens of other, much better uses. ;-) ~~END~~ -
Welcome, soap (possibly the most unique name on Eurobricks, unlike mine |-/ ). I hope you have a great time here! (just don't spam, or yoda will take you to the tourture chamber... X-D ) ~~END~~

I can't really agree with that. As long as the main color you use in a MOC is white or dark blue, I see many cool uses for the swirly pieces. I know that you usually buy a kit just for the pieces, but I think that comment you made a while back about "popping the swirly pieces back into the canister as soon as you dump the contents out" is a bit one sided. Try using them in a MOC at least once, as I'm sure you, one of the best Bionicle builders ever, could do something cool with them. ;-) Well, maybe not 73 million times over, but I can agree with that. The weapons are much better, and the figures are much cooler! I still am having a tough time adjusting to the fact that the POOP spines are coming back in 2007. :-( Maybe if they had made the piraka faces like Vezon's, they would have looked better. BTW, great review Deinonychus. Those crystal clear pictures enhance it so much. ;-) ~~END~~

Kind of a pointless thread, don't you think? :-/

Man, you really did a lot with the Thunder Fury parts! Great job! I like the thunder tank best. ;-) By the way, this should be put in the Exo force topic index, hands down. ;-) ~~END~~

Oh man, that's really bad. Darn you TLC! >:-( ~~END~~

So, modern military lego is out of the picture...
Zarkan replied to Zarkan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yeah, I guess actual event history is out of the picture. :-( On the bright side, I'm probably not the first one to suggest something like this. X-D That's completely dispicable! >:-( -
One huge dude. This really rocks. I could never make something like him, even if I had the parts. 8-

Oops. :-$ I meant to say, great review, ReZourceman. X-D ~~END~~

Great diorama, yoda. I like the way you made the sand banks. Too bad about the occasoin, though. :-( We'll miss you Steve... ~~END~~

Another excelent move for Bionicle, although I dislike the lack of speach. The animation was awesome! ;-)

So, modern military lego is out of the picture...
Zarkan replied to Zarkan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yeah, sure, in dreamland. :-P It's basicly the same idea as a Revolutionarry war theme, only you take all the George Washington and Bunker hill out, add Ulysses Grant and some of the scenes from the Civil War, and volla'! A great history and clasic warfare theme! ;-) Who knows. Maybe in 2008? Benidict Arnold? King George? :-P -
None. :-P Although I did get a few Ninja parts in a used lego lot...
-
Yeah, modern military lego is out of the question, and probably will be for the rest of TLC's life. But, go back in time a few hundred years, and you reach a possible new theme. I'm talking about the Reveloutionary War. That could be a very intetesting theme, and with the right marketing and set design, TLC could pull it off. Think of it! Lots of clasicly designed buildings and great figures (george washington would be great as one, so would king george), not to mention the return of the clasic musket and cannon! *wub* And, since TLC seems to have nothing against themes about pre-1900 history events (pirates, castle, and vikings have already been made, and they have violence!), it wouldn't get nearly as many critcisms as a modern military theme. Ideas for sets could include: -Geoge Washington's camp (20-30 USD) -Bunker Hill (30-40 USD) -Fort Washington (70-100 USD) -Royal Navy ship (50-80 USD) -Battle of York town minikits (4 kits, 15 USD each) Ideas for figs could include: -George Washington (thats a no brainer. X-D ) -General How -General Cornwallis -General Green -Paul Revere -Ben Franklin -Sam Adams -King George -U.S.A's Troops -Royal Troops -Hessian Troops Boy, lego history lovers would die over this (IF, it is NOT <insert that tiresome argument> or filled with modern shooting devieces, as those are okay in modern themes, but NOT history! >:-( ) So, what do you think?
-
Clasic castle all the way. Although, admitedly, I have none of the sets from that theme (I wan't even born! X-D ), they were the ones that started it all, and they are winners just for their apealing simplicity. I hope lego continues to inprove their Knights Kindom sets, as they are slowly becoming more like the sets of the old. ;-) ~~END~~

Grah, I hate it when TLC makes decisions like glueing half the pieces together. :-| Oh well, still a great minifig and acessory pack, and not a "terrible" price, although 39.99 USD is a bit too much in my opinion. Great review anyway. *y* ~~END~~

Let me guess: Too many other sets are clogging up your budget. X-D Great review, Hinckley. Those cake launchers don't seem like much of anything thanks to it, but I'll have to wait until I get a set with them before I give a final judgement. I'm still disapointed about the treads ( :-( ). but it looks like it's worth the 30 USD I'd have to pay for it. ;-) ~~END~~

I'm having a mixed response to these new sets. On the one hand, half of them sound like remakes of some of the mechs in wave one of 2006, and I'm really hoping they make brand new designs. On the other hand, awesome, well designed but fresh remakes would be, well, awesome! If they keep that in mind, I'll be looking foward to the new sets. ;-) ~~END~~

This is really looking great, Exo-champ. Who knows, it could become the standard for Exo-force wargaming... That is, if it compares to all the zillion other Exo-force games in production. X-D ~~END~~

Nice review, UltraP. I'm glad somebody picked this up so I could have an easier time deciding what to get. Bridge Walker really owns. ;-) ~~END~~

What I think? Awesome. Simply awesome. This is easily looking to be one of the best kits of the exo-force line, if not one of the best of the year. True, white lightning may be a bit plain, but I particulary like the gatling guns and smooth shape and armor. And bridge walker? Beyond awesome. The huge bulk and great detal (not to mention wicked weapons) make it really impressive. Now all I have to do is decide wethier to get this, the 2005 police station, more bionicle, or something else. Oh, the pain of decision making.... :'-( X-D ~~END~~
