  1. In this econamic depression, where many small shops and massive corperations are going out of buisness. It's really good to see LEGO growing and expanding and continuing their profit and ultimate goal of taking over the world. My last visit to Downtown Disney, shops were closed, the district was really empty, The Lego Store was packed! I love it :p
  2. I'm 19 and I've been lucky enough to not have any problem with my legoy passion. So far everybody that knows has been totally supportive. I remember taking my friends (these are college party guys who drive huge trucks and have wear black and think they are the coolest) while we were waiting for a movie, I told them to go to toys r us with me and i was telling them all about legos and showing them the new x-wing and that i was gonna get it next and all this stuff and they were really cool about it. Also my gf has been really supportive about it, she thinks it's kinda cute that im into legos and star wars and everything but shes a gamer nerd (and shes really really pretty, u would never guess that she was a gamer hah) so it kinda works out, although she says when we move together I have to put my collection in the closet haha. The only person that has a problem with my legos is my mom. Well she doesnt care about the lego part, she just gets tired of boxes coming from ups day after day and says i should spend less money on legos. Other than that i've been really lucky.
  3. Just got mine the mail today along with my little lonely Lego trash man. Can't wait to build them!
  4. Toy's R Us is having 25% off some Star Wars and Spongebob sets. But their prices are usually higher so you wont get that much of a discount. I took a look at the Toys R Us website and saw this. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2266195 A LEGO Star Wars Classic TIE Interceptor (6206) on sale for 3.98. Had I not seen that it was out of stock (and probably has been for some time) I would have bought it instantly!
  5. For some reason this display instantly reminds me of the Castle Market set. I even at first thought you used some of the same buildings but then later checked and saw they were different. Brilliant work my friend!!!
  6. My first set was the Steven Spielberg Movie Maker Set :p
  7. Totally.
  8. Hopefully this year me and my older brother are going to be able to hit up comic-con 09. Then spend some time and Legoland. That would be like a dream for me *wishes*
  9. I actually just got a pretty good deal from craigslist again, I got 5 (smaller) boxes of legos, 3 city sets a technic set and a racer car for 20 dollars. Heres what i got exactly. 7737 City Coast Gaurd 4WD and Jet Scooter 7736 City Coast Guard Quad Bike 7741 Ciy Police Helicopter 8120 Racer 8290 Technic Mini Forklift Not to shabby for just 20 dollars. I feel bad for all the lego fans in Orange County because i am getting to all the good lego buys on CL first :p
  10. Ahah, well my name is kyle, I live in Tustin California. When I was really little I totally loved legos but never actually got what I wanted unless I earned money for it (my first real large lego purchase was the Steven Speildberg Movie Maker Set when I was about 12), since then my interest in lego sort of swayed and disappeared entirely, until Xmas (2008, yes that recently haha), I told my sister that I wanted something to build and her boyfriend got me a random Bionicle set from his work (Bitil to be exact) and 4 months later I am hooked. I can't get enough of legos. They are my escape. Whenever I build. I turn EVERYTHING in my room off, and I've got alot of electronic stuff. My room is dead silent, it's just me and my bricks, it almost feels like your the only person in the world and there no problems at all. I think that's why I've grown soo attached to them. Oh I am 19 years old and am applying to work at the lego store at downtown disney anaheim. Anything else you want to know? I'd be glad to share my experiances with lego :p Thanks for listening! Ohh and I don't really have a favorite theme of legos, even though my collection consists of mostly Bionicle and Star Wars.
  11. Your collection is way to big.... It makes me sad :( Great job with the ship though!
  12. I second that! Please share!
  13. Great review for a great ship! Keep up the good work my friend!
  14. Hey everybody, I joined the other day, just wanted to say hey!
  15. How many people in this thread have said "I don't care for the spongebob line", vs. the people who said "i love it". They are called opinions. Everybody on this site loves Legos for different reasons. Should we all just be Lego Apologists and instantly love every single Lego product that comes off the shelf? I certainly love most of them, just thought spongebob didn't feel right with lego, that is all. Should I stop putting my money into something that makes me happy, legos, because of that? Back on topic please.
  16. Awesome review! That first picture is just absolutely brilliant. It's what lego is all about :p *tear*
  17. Grrrr either spring break trip to orlando. Or new Republic Dropship :( I'll probably end up getting the Republic Drop ship IN Orlando haha.
  18. According to LEGO.COM Space Skulls is Sold Out!!!!! Look's like the sale did it's job, I was able to pick one up. Hopefully this will send the message to lego that if something isn't selling, reduce the price 80% and it will be gone the next day no matter how bad of a set it is! XD
  19. I actually JUST bought the 4730 Harry Potter - Chamber of Secretes set, unopened from some old lady on craigslist for 20 bucks. Some light shelf wear, but in really awesome con'd. It still has the wal-mart price tags from 2002 :p. I might post a review of it later on when I decide what to do with it :p
  20. The Disney and Lego partnership has pretty much been confirmed by now, it's just a matter of time.
  21. In my opinion, and this may be the opinion of others. Spongebob just isn't really a good fit for legos. The first time I saw spongebob building block sets I thought they were Megablocks haha. I'm not saying the sets are bad, it just doesn't seem like the theme you would expect to find in a lego store next to Star Wars, Castle, Pirates, Bioncle, Mars Mission, Indiana Jones, ect. There is almost an infinite possibility of other themes that you can build from that's not limited to Bikini Bottom. However I am sure many people out there enjoy spongebob sets which is good. That is what legos are for.
  22. Coolest thing i've ever seen!!!!!!!!!! XD
  23. Awesome review. Grr I wish legos didn't go up in price as they got older X( this was one of the sets on my wishlist
  24. Really? Where I live everybody loves them, never once anybody who would ever bash lego.
  25. Just ordered it from lego.com earlier today, i wish i had the "bscd29" code because it would have helped :(, its alright. Space Skulls SOLD OUT on Lego.COM haha that's awesome.
