The thing I like in the 6097 castle design is that we have a peripheric wall and a platform on top of big arches (I don't know if the words are correct). It would be better with a more beautiful tower and a more finished design...

The printed computer seems to be the same than in the black sportcar (creator set), so not new... Nice review! The more I read about AR, the more I want all the line! :-D

And more than that, the two pieces don't keep a good grip between them. And it's a problem, when the hinge can't support the weight of a part that fall slowly.

TLC has changed them because the old ones are not strong enought. With the time, the parts of the shutter don't stay together very well. And it seems that with the new shutters, it's not the case, but you have some angle to respect and the pieces are bigger (where the two pieces are connected). I dislike them too *sad*

Nice work! We find some elements from older castles and vikings, and all those touches are well integrated! This castle looks like a lego casle has to be. We find some moving walls, some trapes, a lot of minifigs and accessories! It seems to be really playable. When I saw the pics, I would like to explore all the parts of this castle! It is big but not too for me. I like! Good work for a first castle!

I don't know where to find them... You'r layout is very small! lol :-D You need a large room to put it on!

I can't agree! Because the color of the other windows of the other firemen sets are trans-blue too, so no problem :-P ! But maybe the small back window should have been trans-blue too...(really easy to change :-D !)

I think that a collage of a theme in the catalog makes the children wanted all the sets to recreate this collage at home. It worked on me, even if I never bought all the sets of a line. But those collages give me some ideas and put me in a track on how to make my town (I know, it's off-topic too) to have the lego spirit... And this fealling could be applying in all theme I think.

Thanks for this review bbd. I really like the look of this pick'up. The new window shield add a nice touch of the general look, like the 1x4 tile with stickers in the pick'up back. And a silver helemt is always welcome! But the yellow gun water *wacko* ... the string is not integrated isn't it? So bad...

I voted for the 8877 Vladek's fortress because it looks better IMO. The 10176, the revival of a legend *wacko* ! This is not a CC for me, but a new Morcia castle! We find too many pieces from too many different universes (lion symbol, KK helmet, wizard like in the old good time, a dog!) that give it an unfinished look, even if we find some nice touches like the armory office and the chamber with the squeleton. The Vladek's fortress have a bette look, more finished, even if I'm not found of those big swords and helmet. And it gives the impression to have a real story, with a well done universe. I just want to add that I have none of them...

I've got those two sets and agree with you Gylman. The castle 6097 is fun and nice. But it would be better if all those walls were empty or loked buy doors. There are some nice accessories and a nice playability. But the 6087 is very :-X : bad design and horrible flying thing! The concept is nice but it was so badly done! And the wors set of this line is the 6037 witch's windship :-X! So this line is not too bad for me, just 2 crappy sets. The concept is nice but no done like the older lines. I read this topic when I was cleanning my 6097 castle (it is the occasion to see my missing parts and take pictures for my BS gallery)!

Calvin, I don't think that TLC will sell this train in a 9V version. If you want one, you have to buy a 9V motor. Hobbes, I agree with you for the stickers, they bring a touch of realism. But contrary to you and Sne, the fact that we have some diferrent wagons don't appear like a problem to me. In fact, with th same kind of wagons, the train would be more boring (and I think for the children too, the first market of TLC). But it would be nice to find the same wagons as individual sets, so if you want more than 1 red wagon, you can! Sne, yes the blue truck is very nice! I know that I would buy this set even if it wasn't here, but is was a good reason to persuade me and my conscience when I saw the price :-D Darthking623, yes I will put it in my town! But no now (I don't have the time for the moment to build it... :'-( )

I would like a renault Avantime! I don't like how real cars look in lego, like the ferrari F430 and the "creator" Enzo. I prefer the big technic "Enzo". I think that technic cars are better, because Technic suggest the curves, contrary to the traditional bricks with which you have them, so they don't look like in real. I don't know if I'm clear in what I say... But that what I think.

I like a lot of LEGO themes. In fact, I think that what makes LEGO products so nice is that with a common base (bricks), you can explore some very different worlds. And that makes me dream! When I was a child, I wanted all the sets of all the line, exept from space. So I had some CC, pirates, adventurers, city, paradisia (all the themesI like). But when I reallysed that I will never have all the sets of all the line, I decided to choose one line, and my choice was city. I don't know exactly why... Maybe because it is in this theme that I had more sets (in fact, in city/town lines, there always have some small sets, more than in other themes), and because building means more building houses for me than other things. And know, I make my studies in engineering and architectur in the buildings :-) And with the time, I think that it was a good choice, because TLC always made some city sets (with less or more good design), and it appears that 2007 will be good! And we can't say the same thing for pirates and castle! (well, I know what you, afols of those themes, are feeling...) After that, I like the SB theme because of the show and how LEGO made it. And I continue to like all the themes I liked as a child, even if I don't have a lot of the sets and the city theme has become my priority.

It reminds me of my town when I was a child! And this because there are just few houses. And it gives a town a smart touch. I really like the octan gas station! Just hope to see a new one like that... A road plate would be great to connect the octan station to the crossing.

Happy to inspirate a new topic! Seriously, like said Xwingyoda and Kiku, the first reason TLC will not give us some skycrapers is the price. A UCS series would be find, but a minifig line would probably not be a success with the kids. And even if the european culture doesn't have the same regard with those skycrapers, that couldn't influence TLC decisions. Just look the Nick sets example :'-( , we can't buy them in Europe (even if we know those two show!) or the Dino attack/2010, TLC knows how to target its markets.
