It sounds great...

Hihi! It's a joke to show that you needn't to be superman to do some great things with people around you (hey, Do I become a philosopher?!, I hope no :-P !). I'm waiting for your entry...

Here my so serious entry... Hero Name: Lolalove Secret Identity: Lola Luv. She keeps her secret identity just with a pair of glasses (she doesn

Really good job! I remember those films. The one with the gost in the picture made me frightened! In fact my grand mother had a pictur which was really similar :-$ ! But I was a child! Now I know that the gosts don't exist, well I think... :-D

The expression "dark age" is not for me. In fact, my "dark age" period was with the TLC one (99-03). So I missed nothing good, all the sets of this period look so crappy! :-X And I never spent so much money in lego than in the 4 past years, with a record for 2006 (I don't want to know how much...). I find that TLC makes half the way to refind its old "touch". And the fact that TLC doesn't make some alive city sets exept police and firemen, I try to integrate some other sets in my town like the arkam asilum, it is a very good challenge for me! And I really like the vikings line, a very beautifull one. And with Spongebob, I think that TLC has made a good job too (I like this line so much, but not release in Europe, but I've bought them on Ebay, I can't wait to have them :-P ). I think that I'm too young to enter in the dark age (I'm 22), maybe with the time... but not for the moment! A good think to keep my lego feeling is that I don't have my bricks during a major part of the year, becuase I don't have spaces in my student room. So, when I come back to my parents home during the holidays, I can built and built witouh being fed up with lego. This is why I have spent a lot of time during my summer holidays to ameliorat my town. And I have just started a new challenge: to clean all my old sets! After that I rebuilt them and see if there are some missed parts. This is permit me to rediscover my old lego with my chilhood feeling which aer associated. And I can take pictures to add to my BS gallery, so I can see my set when I'm at school! X-D For me it's more the silver age (I hope a golden one which will come if TLC makes a very good work for the next years!)

I've taken 2 pictures of my tunner garage to show how it is easy to make a minifig scale one: I just add some accessories, like tools and some other from the 2005 advent calandar. The car wash add is just because I need to have this configuration with the road base plate for my city. And I try to make the cars minifig scale too, making them 1 stund longer than the originals. So realy simple to do for a correct result.

It will be really cool to see a TGV, the new one with red sits designed by the I-don't-remember-the-name-of-this-dressmaker. But if there are new "licences" for trains, it will be an american one :'-( ... (Those Europeans, always complaining! :-D )
-
I have never seen a Xmas train around a Xmas tree in the houses I went to during the holidays (family, friends). Maybe it is more an American tradition? Dunno... But if this trains make more people buying lego trains, TLC will probably continues to develop this line (after the news of a creator train set).

I'm writting my hero story, but it is hard for me, because I'm French, so it is difficult to have some humour in my writing... I will post it at the end of the week...

I really don't know why... I like to spend a lot of money for a train like that :-D Definitally, not for me!

All other new 2007 sets (including new theme)

No! :-| You understand nothing! They take the train to go to the airport! And with the plane they try to find a town... It would be hard to be a city minifigs in our days! :-D -

It's a good think that TLC will make more trains. Maybe a new station, a streetcross, and why not some cranes and cargo building... I know, I'm a dreamer -
A beautiful 12V train collection, (even if I prefer the 9V ones) and good old sets (like the 6380 hosital). It's great, I like your train layout! *y*

Pictorial review: old style Lego boxes (Airtech 8868)
alex54 replied to gylman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I can remember too! I like so mutch to look all the different sets and try to look the other pieces behind the parts displayed. So I could dream on all those bricks... I could spend hours and hours in the LEGO area of my shop, looking in the box! I think that it is better to sell some sets with children IMO, making them dream... -
It would be nice to find this train, I find it wbeautiful.
-
:'-( we will never see it in France, like the SB sets!
-
It sound good! Just wait and see... This would be a good way to have more trains without all the IR system Just hope that they will have a good look...
-
I voted on the 6380. I think that it is the best Hospital that TLC done: very easy to well integtared in a town ( contrary to the dacta version), has a good design and its own one (not a fire station make up in hosptal). But like the fire station, I have the last one (7892) to be sur to have one, noit the best but better that no one!

I hope not to see aqua exo force too! But the name doesn't sound like a divers one... I want to be wrong :-P -
To mod or not to mod (not for squeamish readers!)
alex54 replied to Brickthus's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm a purist too, so to modify a part is not for me. I think that it is harder but more interesting to find another way to build your idea than to modify a part, it is more that the LEGO spirit, IMO... But everybody do what they want with their own bricks :-) -
I don't know if it is the more interesting, but it is very interesting! Then, I realised that Europeans don't have the same feeling with dragons than the Asiats (bad animals vs sacral ones)
-
Thanks for your comments :-$ Like I said in the divers topic, this set is the best compromise between a good look, good pieces and animals, and the price in the divers line: 6558 was too small for me and 6560 too expensive when they where on sell. It is just below the 6560 and the 6441 deep reef refuge for the size.

So, after asking the approbation of Hobbes, here it is my first review! Name: Deep sea bounty Ref: 6559 Theme: Divers Year: 1997 Pieces: 344 Minifigs: 5 Price: about 30 I think (but not sure, and about 40$) This is a general picture of the set. It contains a good diversity of pieces, without some <insert that tiresome argument> ones, except from the rocks will say some of you. We have a traditional shark in old dark grey, an old light grey with a new head o make it a saw shark, a manta ray *wub* , an octopus and 3 tile with red and blue pattern. I dont take the parrot, because it doesnt know how to swim! :-D The 5 minifigs, with two divers (are they clones?, Maybe, just an DNA can bring the true), a submarine driver and two other minifigs (not clones but twin brothers, because they wear different T-shirts!). You can see their submarine accessories. One good point it is that the two divers have also a cap when they are not in the water! Here all the marine engines: a catamaran, a zodiac and a small submarine. The zodiac with two oars when the engine is out of order. The mini submarine, with a camera and a snapshot, and 3 propellors with one with a blade. It is small but so sweat IMO! This is the biggest boat of the set. This catamaran has all the accessories that a submarine exploration needs, like tools, snapshot, a buoy, With the crane ( I dont know if it is the correct word), you can put in the water the submarine and the cage or put them at the centre of the grille plate. A computer helps to sail and a X-ray to see what the underwater world hide Now you know ;-) The card is a bit different of the real submarine site, but Im sure that after the exploration, the minifigs will update it! The cage is useful but not with all the saw shark! Warning! X-D And now, the submarine site, with all the elements. We can see an anchor, a rest of a pirate ship maybe, and some trans-green flames for algaYou can put the animals on the top of the seaweeds to have a submarine feeling, as if they swim. There is a treasure hidden behind the rock: goblets, coins, and knifes, and some pirate sword cutlass. There is a second container treasure in the head of the whale But there is a danger! You can be wedge in it, just for a cranium! So stupid! :-| This is the mechanism of the system, really simple, but cool (the treasure jams the grey pieces that jam the head of the whale). Finally, there are a lot of accessories and different elements like boats that gives it a good look and playability. Some more animals like shell, crab and sea star would bring more life The colour scheme is very good, with some realistic ones. So I can say that it is really good Divers set! *y* Just let me know what you think about this review(I realise that it is a pleasant work, but it needs some times, so thanks to all the Eurobrickers that review) And now, just wait the 6560 review from Hobbes

Yesterday, I had Fafnir name in my head all the day, I don't know why but it was! When the evenning came, I decided to search on the net what Fafnir can mean. And I was surprised to see that all the "bad animals" of vikings line are real. Not really, because they came from the Mythology of North European countries! I went to wikipedia to learn more about them, but there is just few elements. So if anybody can bring the light of their stories, it would be nice. I will go to the library to find some books if I have the time...

I really don't know why tlc made Santa Claus so crappy. An all red with white hands, a black belt and a good fig could make him better!
