Disney Properties 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Ondra replied to Huigberts Builds's topic in LEGO Licensed
Funny enough, new castle seems to be cheaper here than last one than to strong currency . Definitely looking into it, because 4800 pieces sounds good and these classic characters too. -
That train is really nice, but I already invested time and bricks into proper locomotive and long carriages.

This is too small for my taste, I hope it will be different but it will be easy pass.

Cannot wait to buy that Ariel clamshell here before christmas for around 80 euro and next year in March for 70 euro at total clearance. Like it was with Bowser figure this year. Half of the price cut after year for big godzilla type lego figure. Nobody is interested in these sets here, and its good way to build something for adults for "cheap" . -

Another set that I found better without stickers is horizon West Tallneck. I compared with stickers and without stickers photos before purchase and stickers ruining it. Because they have different shade than brick, they are clearly stickers, they give weird cartoony looking feel to whole robot. Without stickers that set still looks good and I would say probably better fit into Lego lore.- 183 replies

I always found classic lego figures proportions weird. I always wanted two seater car as kid and only viable solution back in days was 8 stud wide car, I barely know some jumper tricks as used later in official sets.Because lego figure span around four studs wide when seated. Also there was always problems with car, there was always need for some tweaks to put figure into car without problems with head bouncing roof when used flat tile as base of car, hood and window. Figures like Friends one definitely fix many issues I had, but Lego basic figures are so iconic for me. Its vital part of Lego.

Im looking for microscale Hogwarts, promobricks show some knock-off, but that knockoff is around 6000 pieces according to internet. So how lego will manage same look with 2260 pieces will be very interesting.

Arent these ads more fantasy inducing? Why these modern lego ads even needs famous people? These old commercial are weirdly charming. All these old catalogs have real backgrounds with sets inside, I want to be part of these catalog cities so I did one myself as kid. Are new catalogs appealing? Full of photoshop and fake renders. I stopped them even collecting them when they went full photoshop, They were just waste of space.

This kinda reminds me Jurassic Explorers from T Rex Breakout. This set and these SUV could be fabulous, but was murdered by stickers. There are even two small stickers for T Rex eyes. Imagine did some mistake and I would say whole t rex is ruined. For me every set, and these pricier one especially, when stickers could be easily avoidable are murdered. Im still baffled how cobi has everything printed since 2022. Yeah, other hand they have a lot missing pieces. Everything has two side... I never had once in my life missing brick from lego, only advent calendar has doubled one bag and missing another. Which was win after all.- 183 replies

Show some love for 80s and 90s early 00s sets, when they archieve whole themes with bricks of basic shapes and mostly with studs on top. I had three big boxes of 90s lego and there were like 30 types of bricks in basic colours, so I can after so many years fullfil my dream of some 90s stylized MOCs. I also bought some new sets for bricks and only from these sets I have like four small boxes packed of very specialized parts in many colours, types. Its weird how they made specialized parts just to save like three pieces and used total in like five sets. Vintage lego had genuine feel, modern sets are borderline plastic models. Vintage lego have some magic, completely lost in time and never experienced by many.

I just build new marvel quinjet and put on all stickers, after day of reconsideration i get them of because they feel artificial on that model. It's hard to say, but lego stickers are very cheap by material. By look and feel. I only buy speed champions if model works without stickers. Back in days without licensing limiting them into everything, basic printed bricks and specialized tiles used as vents were definitely better. And were parts of charm. I still cannot understand, why some sets lego ex creator expert are fully printed even with huge tiles and others not even for higher price.- 183 replies

Apparently disney is still too big to recover from losing jackpots. Imagine if they did sets based on classics instead of they remakes, yeah that would be homerun. I used to watch Ariel cartoon as kid, guess I would probably consider to buy set based on these aesthetics. But I have zero interest in set based on remake... -

Disney act lately like they still have that midas touch and they are too big to fail. Speaking of toys, here nobody is buying it . Toy figure based on disney + series of marvel is just weird as it can be. All these buzz lightyears that will haunt all stores across country. -
Check Czech republic online stores maybe even Poland one. They are even giving vidiyo blind boxes as gift for purchase, nobody is buying it.
-
Well I bought mighty bowser for around 160 euro brand new this monday. Local eshop have huge shop birthday sales and they are throwing big sets that are selling poorly on huge sales. Quinjet for 70 euro another interesting sale.
-
Nobody is buying vidiyo or hidden side even on huge clearance . I can even buy some sets brand new from Lego movie 2. All these in absurd amount of copies here. Dreamzzz will be next, they never learn...
-
Seeing all these icons 18+ sets, and I cannot barely see logic in it. They are seemingly throwing everything big into this range and most of them are on huge sale few months after. Its just waste of human resources, it takes time to design it and then its mostly instantly rejected and put into sale and after year and half they end set life. Only positive side it has, that Im buying more of these big sets on clearance because its steal after all. I never buying it in first months.
-
These themes are dead, and throwing once a while Icons sets that only afols can afford is only nostalgia bait. Maybe its good that lego insist on licensed properties, because many inhouse themes from modern days were huge flops. I only hope that there will be Bionicle tribute set like figure of Mata Nui off course brickbuild, and I can put to rest my childhood lego dreams.

Whats demographic of this set? 170 euro for 18+ diorama based on brand new remake. Lego really loves pumping 18+ sets like maniacs ending in sale after few months . They probably throws everything on wall and something stick... -
I give up "professional" mocing, i just use pieces that I have from older sets or build alternates from sets or modifying sets. Mocing is 3x pricier than basic set based on rebrickable list. They have around year or two for designing big sets, they can perfected every way of set or made new bricks . No way this can be done with mocing.

Yay, another Harry Potter train... I wish they get Thonas the tank engine license to put on table something different than olton hall steam locomotive.

I recently bought daily bugle and its paired with modular police station and as Avengers tower sounds tempting I dont have any room whatsoever. If its on par with daily bugle it will be phenomenal set. -

These prices for basic JP cars are really putting me off. I know there is dinosaur, but I can get cheaper and at at least 3 times bigger from mattel. All these jurassic sets looks really basic and only set that gets my interest is T. rex breakout from last year. I only wish there are more brickbuild dinosaurs that these specialized pieces.
