  1. Thanks, yes i must admit I really like making land based mocs at the moment. Although I do have another ship in the works. I like to get ideas from places I vistit and once im fixed on a vision of what i want to make then i just go for it. The Cornish coast of england really interests me at the moment, lots of old little ports and coves steeped in myth. Great for inspiration
  2. I live on the border of surrey and kent, and toys r us is really the only place to go apart from the lego store at windsor or bluewater. Online is the way to go these days as you can get mostly everything your looking for. Just have to wait for delivery though! I remember when there were loads of shops, gamleys, toystack, beatties, and woolworths used to have a huge lego display.
  3. Thanks for the comments. As regards to the cannon, there is actually a door behind it. This is a secret passage that runs down and comes up into the basement of the cottage. Thats how he got it up there, every smuggler needs his secret tunnels.
  4. 70b A small peaceful fishing hamlet, now run by a ruthless smuggler and his band of followers. Enjoy http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/109909 For some reason it wont let me deep-link a pic. maybe im doing it wrong
  5. Thankyou. Bricklink and pick a brick are a good source of parts, plus bulk lots on ebay are good at the right price. Im currently putting the finishing touches to my new moc, which is turning out really nice. Its based on the legend of a smuggler called 'Cruel Coppinger'.
  6. A lot of very interesting great entries. But only 7 points to play with. Guss - 3 I scream clone - 2 oo7 - 2 A big mention to everyone else who entered. Great work.
  7. Thats one seriously cool ship. I like the tripple guns and its nice that u have incorperated the organ. Great work!
  8. That pirate is like a modern day pimp with his women and all his bling! Cool moc, lots going on. Good luck in the contest!
  9. Thanks, ive got so many wooden doors and ive been meaning to use them for something. Im going to try and make a full roof out of them on my next moc.
  10. Thanks for all the great comments. It took me about a week to design the base, and another week to design the houses. I built the houses seperatly so they can be removed for easier transportation.
  11. Thanks for the comments, i would like to do the streets with the round 1x1, and i intend to order some and try it out. Not reali sure about a piece count, id say theres definatly a LOT And yes, all the buildings have an interior, although i havnt furnished wat cant be seen.
  12. Vig. 64a Port Gaverne is finally complete and I had some spare time today so i decided to upload the pictures. Enjoy http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/106710
  13. Part 1 is virtually complete now and ready for photographing. I say part 1 because ive designed it so i can attatch another section on either side, which will allow me to have a couple of ships docked. It will be a while till i build and add the other sections, so i will use some BURPS one either side of the port to make it look a little more complete. I hope to post them next week, but i mite wait till the captain's cabin contest is over first. Thanks for the interest, ive had a lot of fun building this moc
  14. Thank you for all the great comments
  15. I think everyone is getting sidetracked from the actual point of this post. Yes, the Dark Shark 6285(im british so i use the uk name) is a overall better designed ship, but its not about which ship is the better model. Its about which ship would win if they had a battle. My vote would be the Black Skull 6286. Because a full broardside from 4 cannons would cause more destruction then 2. Plus if you count the little grey cannons on top of the cabin then thats five cannons on each side.
  16. Arrrr, mine be not in there! Cool vid tho, lot of nice ships:pir-cry_happy:
  17. Thanks, ive actually built it so i can add on another section either side, but i wont be building them for a while.
  18. Thankyou very much for your help, ive been wondering how to deeplink a pic, i'll remember that. Thanks for the comments, i will hopefully post the full moc this weekend.
  19. Also, sorry for the quality of the picture.
  20. Port Gaverne is nearly finished, only a few more tweaks to make. Hopefully have full complete moc by the weekend. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/106710 I tryed to upload the pic on here but it says 'file size to big'. Im terrible with computers
  21. Ive flicked thru so many castles that are all of a similar build and design, but yours stands out instantly Great original design and details, hope to see more like this. Excellent work
  22. Aye, a grand interview me thinks. I 'ave many a story to tell, did i ever tell ye the one 'bout the sea cow beached on a reef?
  23. Oops, to avoid confusion, honeybee is my partners username. didnt realise she was logged in
  24. thanks for all your comments, much appreciated. I looked up a few pictures of 17th century ships to get an idea of the shape and i had a look at what other people have made to see whats possible, then just went from there. Theres some really great mocs that people have made, very impressive. Ive allways been a castle person and so all my bricks are mainly castle orientated. But then again, my first lego set was 6285 and i do find that pirates is really the only other theme that i can put those bricks to good use. I hope to try and build some more pirate mocs inbetween my castle projects. I deffinatly think my ship needs a port, so im gonna start work on that next, then i'll continue on with my castles. I have just purchased some of the new pirate sets, so i think that you'll be seeing a lot more mocs in the future. Thanks again for your comments
  25. 78d Hi all, just thought id post this moc i made the other day. I usually concentrate on castle, but i fancied a change. I dont really know much about ships, so its all new to me. Enjoy. http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/21694
