  1. Surrey BC, Guilford Town Centre: Grand Opening is confirmed to be the weekend of Sept. 20th- 22nd.
  2. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37693
  3. LEGO won't replace anything specific in CMFs. Some I knew had a problem with an accessory and LEGO just offered to send him 3 random packs in hopes he would get a replacement.
  4. I built something very similar based on a GMC Platform Community Transit Bus for a show representing a new Transit Station. Your doors are pretty similar to mine with the wheelchair lift! Making the front door open is easy with droid arms. I use the same method on my regular transit bus. http://farm4.staticf...ccd2291d4_b.jpg
  5. Are you sure it was the location manager that offered that? In the story above it says the manager said it would have been even inappropriate for them to be escorted to the Miniland Display to take pictures.
  6. The adult nights are great if you are local and I do mean LOCAL since they only allow you admittance between the hours of 7 and 8 PM on those nights. That doesn't help if you live 3 or 4 hours away, work or have a medical condition like that person in the story does. What if I'm visiting from out of town? The calendar on their webpage is empty so I can't even plan ahead in that regard.
  7. LDC's own Ticket Page is super confusing.. Anyone 13 and over is considered an "adult" and charged $22. It says no "adults" are allowed in the center without a "child", no where on the page does it say anything about the children having to be under 18. So does that mean they wouldn't allow a family with two teens aged 13 and 15, and if they did why are they considered an adult when charging admission prices but a child when they are under 18? Another thing if this attraction is essentially purely for kids and adults are essentially there to watch them why are they being charged $4 each more than their kids for the privilege to do so?
  8. I didn't realize TLG was supporting the actions of Merlin so openly as I've been paying attention mainly to LDC's Toronto Page, at least LDC said they had passed the complaints on to the appropriate department. The coverage of this story is still spreading worldwide despite LDC saying they have made up for the situation with Mr. St-Onge. I imagine the company's reputation has been damaged bad with both AFOLs and Parents with kids and we'll prolly be hearing about this from the public for a while... As for moving the local models to be visible from the store that would be a decision I hope they take at the very least. I doubt most AFOLs would shop at the store though since it's not a LBR store with VIP points, so the only thing they'd look at is the models.
  9. All Legoland and Legoland Discovery Centers worldwide are operated by Merlin Entertainments. The LEGO Group sold their ownership of the parks years ago but Trust Company that the Christiansen family runs owns the largest portion of Merlin and the LEGO Group..
  10. I've used my VIP Card that first got in the USA at Canadian Stores no problem. The reward amount seems to based on the USA Price, not what I paid for it in the store though. I'd check your VIP balance online otherwise it might not have gone through.
  11. The German catalogue posted today shows a release date of August for the Cargo sets and no mention of 60026 :(
  12. I can't find them on the site, do you have a link? I'm a bit annoyed because I have a bunch of discounts to use next week and last week I drove 150 miles looking for them :P
  13. Still waiting on 60026 and the other Summer 2013 releases to appear at US S&H and Lego Stores... Toys R Us had a flyer saying they only had the CG sets :(
  14. Where'd you get 60026 in Australia? I haven't been able to find is in Canada or USA yet?
  15. There's actually a TRU across from Alderwood Mall where the LEGO Store is, but yes I meant to say I called the LEGO store.
  16. Any sightings of the new sets at US TRU or LEGO Stores? A friend of mine in GA told me he saw 60020 already in TRU. I called the Alderwood Store in WA state today and they told me 60026, 60022, 60020 were listed as European Sets only when they're on this website already but not S@H http://city.lego.com/en-us/products/
  17. I'm wondering if you can do me a favor. In the instructions I need the LEGO element ID of the light blue police officer torso http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=cty216 for an order. The element ID should be on the list of piece at the back of the instructions. Hope you can help me out! Anyone else with the new police sets that can help me out too?
  18. Maybe the PAB wall at the LEGO store in Seattle was tapped out after BrickCon, so this is the result :P
  19. ? The point of my blog is to show people who look at a generic pile of LEGO and think people will pay through the roof of it like the aformentioned person who is trying to sell a Caveman Locally for $20 :P
  20. Thanks, I'm hoping other people will submit hilarious LEGO ads from craigslist one day too :P
  21. Forget creativity.. The one thing this mad rush of collecting is turning hopefull wanna sellers into complete *****. I've posted on here before, but the things I've seen on Craiglist are just plain silly and mindnumbing. I know there will always be a secondary market for LEGO, when they they started to sell these it's a riot. There was one add selling figures in Chicago trying to sell the barcode sheet for $1 a pop for the pdf via paypal. Locally here there is another seller trying to set the set without accessories & baseplate for a price of $100, and the same person I'm guessing is trying to sell as set of 8 from series 1 with Caveman, Diver ,Dummy,Cowboy, Forestman, Magician, Ninja, Spaceman for a whopping $100. Because of all this I've started a LEGO specific Craigslist blog People are looking for deals on Craigslist and these sellers are expecting eBay and Bricklink prices.
  22. European Distribution for these things was much easier for the customer. In North America we can only drive around to select stores like Walmart, TRU, and Target to get them and you had to keep calling to find out when they put them out. There might be only one Wal-Mart or TRU per municipality whereas there are several grocery or drug stores. This of course lead us to drive around our Metro Area in our car centric continent so it was a lot more time and effort for us to complete our sets
  23. This is what I just posted to my club forum: "I've done some quick research on Craigslist and I've concluded Canada, specifically VANCOUVER is the worst place to try to find these in the store. There are 3 to 4 ads up right now with sets ranging from $70 - $120. Compared to other major cities in North America we probabaly have the most resellers per capita, ie NYC only has 1, LA 2 or 3. Prices in the USA range from $50 to $80, though there is one complete *sswipe in Chicago trying to sell the Barcode Sheet for $1 each (I even gave mine when I was done with it to some dad with two kids). I know it's not us buying these things in lots of 3 or 4 cases so I I don't know what it is about the West Coast that makes people deprive tons of kids. Imagine if you were a 9 or 10 year old kid...You had been begging your mom to get to TRU or Wal-Mart all week to get them only to get to the Lego section and all you see are Price Tags.. Man I would have thrown a tantrum :P . I think at the least all retailers could put a limit of 20 to these. That would eliminate some of the sheer madness people go through to get these. I know stores would sell out anyway but it would definatley screw these resellers up as they would have to go to every Walmart in Surrey like I had to." As much as I love LEGO it seems that all these resellers are taking the fun out of these. I know in the USA at the LEGO store and TRU you can buy only a limited quanity and I just wish it were true up here.
  24. I completely agree with you. I am hoping LEGO rectifies the supply issue with these things next round. I had to go two 3 Wal-marts on the 2nd day they came out and couldn't complete a set. A friend of mine says he was calling TRU every couple days and today they said they finally put them out 5:10 PM. When he got there at 5:50 PM they were cleared out. The people that buy 3 or 4 cases leaving the kids with nothing totally leaves a sour taste in my mouth. There is someone here on craigslist trying to sell a set for $90 with NO accessories or stands. This kinda of madness brings out the worst in people and I bet there are plenty of desperate parents trying to even get one or two for their kid.
  25. Thanks for your help, my guess it only hit Canada very recently. I'm looking for one in Metro Vancover, but in the TRUs I've been down in Oregon and WA I've never seen it at all this spring.
