This is a license plate from someone in our LUG:

I was in Burlington today, and found series 2! The Wal-Mart on Dundas had none, but the one on Fairview St. had them. After about 45 min in the aisle looking at bar codes, I managed to get all 16. They still had lots, but I doubt there will be a complete set. It took me to the second last one on the shelf to complete my set. Good luck in your searches!

Nice MOD, but I must say that trailer looks exactly like the one I posted a while back: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=26458&st=0&p=457663&fromsearch=1entry457663

How do you store your instructions?
legomaniac83 replied to KartoffelViking's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for the comments! To answer your question, I keep my binders lying flat, and stack them on top of one another. Your right if you have them upright, the sleeves will stretch and the holes will break. When I was a kid, I kept all of my instructions in a big Lego box. Out of the light and dust. That's why most of them are in great condition. The manuals that are in not great condition usually come with eBay auctions I win, or from yard sales and such. When I get a new set, I put the manuals right in the binders to keep them pristine. If you're just starting in the hobby, I suggest just keeping a box to put your manuals in, sorted by size. Great topic for seeing other peoples ideas! -
How do you store your instructions?

I keep all my instructions in 3 ring binders. The clear sleeves work perfectly for large manuals, and I've found out that picture album refills work perfectly for smaller ones The same 4x6 photo sheets are used in these photos for 3 different sized manuals: The only manuals I have a hard time with are the square manuals from some sets. For extras, they are stored in an Rubbermaid clear container. Also for my sticker sheets (I haven't applied stickers to a set in years!) I have them all on their original sheets in a picture album as well (the albums with the pull back sheets). Keeps them nice and clean and uncreased. Great Topic btw. -
Great MOC! Hup Hup! Go Holland!

Went shopping today thanks to a BOGO sale and managed to get my 500th Set! I was looking forward to reaching the milestone, its hard to believe I own that many sets! Came home with these: 8072: Atlantis Sea Jet (500th!) 3178 Seaplane 3179: Repair Truck I wanted a small set as my 500th, as I am not opening it and having it framed to put on display. Just one of the weird traits of an avid collector I guess

Thanks for the replies guys. It looks like I am buying one on BrickLink. Not so happy with the $21, but will be happy when the set is complete! Cheers.

I recently found the 5571 Black Cat Truck for sale locally and jumped on the chance to own it. But while building it, I found it was missing a few pieces. The main missing piece: 1 wheel. Pic: Now, here's the catch. This is the only set this part came in!! So if anyone does have a pieced-out 5571, with one of these to spare, I am interested. I thought I would see if anyone had one here, before paying a nice chunk of change on BL. Thanks guys!

I went to Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga today and Wal-Mart had the Minifigs in stock. Looked like whole case, but they were on clip-strips. The Zellers in the mall also had a great selection of Lego, but no minifigs. Also the Wal-Mart at Heartland Shopping Centre (Mavis and Britannia) did not have any of the figs, but the Lego was stocked. The Toys R Us at Hurontario and Eglington did not have figs either. I didn't pick any up as I am waiting on a case, but I can tell you that it is hard to "feel" out what's inside......

I checked out the Wal-Mart on Mavis Rd. in Mississauga today, and found nothing! Lego shelves were full though, unlike last week......

I actually used the front from 3179 Repair Truck. With TLG going to 6 wide, there is so much you can do and make it to scale. Thanks for the comment!

I have a large interest in weather, as my work and free time involve it. I will hopefully be making more stormchasing vehicles and equipment in my spare time, when it comes This is my first creation: A mobile radar truck: As always, comments and criticism welcome!

Lego Brand stores coming to Canada!
legomaniac83 replied to AriGold's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for the update blueandwhite. Congrats to Calgary on the first Canadian store....I'll have to check it out next time I am there. I'm surprised that with population of around 1 million that it was first choice for TLG, as the Greater Toronto Area has a pop. of around 5.5 million..... I'm sure there will be a store here soon enough, I mean that would be like not having a store in NYC -
Lego Brand stores coming to Canada!

So is this an actual store from "The Lego Group", Or just a store that sells Lego products like the one in St. Jacobs Ontario? I find it awfully weird that it would be advertising on kijiji......and if you go to lego.com's store page, it says nothing about an new store in Calgary, just new ones coming in the US. If it was an "real" Lego store wouldn't they hire through their site? I don't mean to break the mood, but something's fishy........ -
That's some great detail on the truck. Love the front grille work. I think I just might have to invest in some of those chrome brick as well.... Nice MOC!

WOW! That is an awesome backhoe! It's like an updated version of 6662! Great work on the front loader and rear stabilizers. Gotta love those windscreens too....need to get myself a few more. Again, awesome MOC!

This is exactly what I thought when I heard these were coming out......and why I hmmm'ed and ahhhh'ed over buying a whole box (which I did). Since I will have more than one fig of each, someone who did not buy a box and is looking for a certain one I can help them out....plus they are great to throw in gift bags for you little ones in the family! Buying each fig separately every time you go to the toy store would be more money.....unless you are extremely lucky And "The crazy one" - that's a pretty good haul for buying ten random bags! -

No you wouldn't keep these sealed......I meant that the buyer would probably like to open them.......who doesn't like opening new things!? With the barcodes you could tell which ones they were, hence sell 16 unopened for the joy of the buyer. -

I have a box ordered, and since there are three complete sets in a box, I will be selling one. I think that a complete set (16 figs) unopened is what people are looking for, and I don't really need more than 2 of each fig anyways...... Now just waiting on the case to come in! -
Looks great Piotr! Nice work on the suspension hoist controls.

Great post Pepperment_M, as I agree fully with what you mentioned. Every major company has some sort of way to track their product, and this is how TLG is tracking these Minifigs. And as for retailers keeping these near the cash or behind the counter: Most places that have small items to pocket easily do this. Shoplifting rates are usually really high in toy shops and retailers (unfortunately), so I don't think they are going to take a chance. I just can't wait to point and laugh when someone is either scanning a bar code or feeling what is inside the package......Boo-Hoo if you get the same one twice. And as for the post that said there is other stuff to spend money on than a case........what's the difference of a case of minifigs to a large Technic set or modular buildings???? Same thing in my opinion. Plus with 3 complete sets in the case, I can sell one if I want to someone who needs a complete set. It's Lego, and if it's your hobby you can always find cash to buy what you want. Most people I know in this hobby have all the other priorities you mentioned as well. If one month I can't afford Lego, guess what? I don't buy it!
