  1. I saw this on flickr earlier and immediately thought that you could build an absolutely stunning city out of these. Not to mention the fact that by looking at the thumbnail, I thought they were the real thing and was actually bemused as to why you'd be uploading pics of the Green Grocer... Great job - I do hope you're planning on setting up a whole town, or at least district, of these!
  2. Hi there bpwilly3, we've actually had this kind of discussion on a pretty regular basis. The last time I can remember this being talked about was with regards to powering such non-LEGO products in this here thread, although I'm 100% sure I can dig up at least 5 or 6 other similar ones, perhaps sans the real point of discussing motorizing those sets. Btw, LEGO clone brands are discussed and reviewed on a regular basis here, just so that people know what they're getting (or rather, not getting out of such products). You could for example have a look in the Pirates forum and you'll notice that there's a thread discussing specifically Chinese LEGO Pirates bootlegs. As to this being "legal" - well, let's just say that TLG have other fish to fry...
  3. Great to see you post this wonderful MOC here as well :] You never confirmed my suspicions though - is that banana thief really an Ausie thing?
  4. What have you done! But seriously, thanks for that And thanks everyone for your kind words. @HeLena: Sorry, but I don't do instructions. It's a pretty simple / straightforward build anyway, with just some SNOTting going on at the front.
  5. Mmmmm, bike! Looks sweet, great job Pep! NPU all-round; especially the headlight!
  6. You sure did, and I know what you mean... Local stores still haven't stocked up on them, which is (phew) nice. Btw, can't wait to see Fuzzylegobricks' reaction to this
  7. These look sweet, I really like that small shunter!
  8. That does not have anything to do whatsoever with permission. And no one needs to use specifically Brickshelf in order to deeplink their pics - you can still use flickr and deeplink from there. The principle is exactly the same, but here's a simple tutorial: 1. Right-click on the picture in flickr, from "View all sizes" select the "Medium 640" option - although in this case you could also go with Large. Generally pics deeplinked on EB shouldn't be bigger than 800x600. 2. In the newly opened window with the pic in the respective resolution, right-click on it and (depending on what browser you're using): a) just use "Copy Image Location"; or b) click "Properties" and then copy the address from the "Location" field. 3. Using the above address, apply the [ img ] [ /img ] tags (no spaces) or just use the "Insert Image" button and you should be fine.
  9. Sounds like a good idea, as long as all of you guys can keep up and regularly post info on what's available and what's not.
  10. I'd second that. LEGO and DCC doesn't sound right, considering the fact that LEGO products are, after all, aimed primarily at children, not AFOLs. Back to the topic at hand - the sense of excitement is gradually increasing here... I don't know if this kind of advertising is really needed, but in any case it's interesting to see what the final result will be. If it has anything to do with 9V, I just hope that worldwide postage would be available
  11. Hey Winston, welcome to Eurobricks! Your first attempt ever looks totally sweet, and I'm seeing a lot of things to love there! The trans-clear stream in particular is a very nice idea :) I've also noticed that you're working on a neighbourhood with the Emporium at its heart, so I'm sure we're bound to see some pretty exciting MOCs from you in the future!
  12. Argh, evil Ambassadors, always taking advantage of things!
  13. 3D LEGO, I hope you don't mind I've blogged your drawing. I felt it would be only appropriate to write something about the people of Japan and the rough times they are going through. I sincerely hope the Fukushima blast won't have any (more) serious consequences...
  14. +1. A very creative entry there, potato viking Adorable build by 12V as well with his micro Maersk train! Some of these entries really crack me up, great job! (btw, speaking of cracking up - I am now so glad that I don't have a Fabuland sigfig for Rick to mistreat...) It's refreshing to see that even though this is a raffle, not everyone is approaching it with the mentality "Meh, it doesn't matter what I do anyway" - since the latter seems quite disheartening. If CopMike has gone to the trouble of arranging so many prizes for us and is giving them away for free, it wouldn't hurt to honour him by at least trying a bit (my 2 cents). Keep up the good work guys!
  15. Good to know you're safe def! I do hope that our friends in those corners of the world are safe and sound... My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone out there.
  16. Plenty of work on details and scenes there... A really fascinating build!
  17. Great build! That bomb must feel alarmingly snuggly in your palm :) And I don't mean to burst your bubble there, but financial ministers really have very little influence on the budget...
  18. Looking forward to that! You've already covered brown and yellow, so one can't help but wonder which colour is up next in your palette
  19. Once again - this is a raffle. You enter any build which follows the given guidelines and then it's up to your luck to win you one of the prizes, not your MOCcing skills.
  20. Impressive! You're obviously a big fan of hotels But your firehouse looks equally fascinating! I was just wondering - where is that ladder on the left going? Is that a service entrance?
  21. Whoa! Nice machine - am I right in thinking that I saw your very own LG 1750 owning (or at least lifting ) it up, up and away a couple of weeks ago? In any case, great work from you as usual - now then, where's the forest?
  22. I think it's safe to say that you have developed your very own distinct style Tiger. There's the unmistakable Aussie angle, right there! As to the train in question - I'm with Jan on the topic of trying an odd-wide version just to see how that would look. Can't wait for the finished article.
  23. Thanks very much for the link to the "alternate instructions" .pdf Locutis, that's extremely helpful! I'll add it to the first post in this thread for future reference for anyone who's encountered this problem.
  24. Felt pretty emotional when I watched the Discovery on its final approach and landing... and for some reason once the wheels touched the tarmac, I immediately thought of your review Great job as usual, Brickster! I really don't think we'll ever see another space shuttle by LEGO, so it's good to know they've tried to make the best of it!
