  1. Beautiful MOC!
  2. Not the best of timings for such a scene, I guess... But anyway - welcome to Eurobricks! Congrats on that S4 hazmat guy; I'll be looking out for your future MOCs
  3. Since you are keen on getting 110% feedback, here's my 2 cents - even though I wasn't personally required to comment (phew): I only rarely glimpse at the SW forums because I am not and have never been a LEGO Star Wars fan. That said, I sometimes see MOCs that are totally creative / mind-blowing, regardless of one's liking for LEGO SW or lack thereof. I did end up checking out your thread though because I found it weird how someone could have come to version 9 (!) of the same MOC - and was wondering what your progress so far has been. I looked at those two photos, saw the way you seem to be telling off absolutely anyone who isn't waxing lyricals about them, and voted "Terrible". In short, I'd much much rather stare at LEGO's X-Wing fighters than this one, if I had to. Obviously, you're a sucker for proportions and realism but you're definitely taking it all way too far. Swooshability and sleekness aside, this fighter simply looks too unfinished even for a WIP, period. I don't see the point in posting a WIP just to show the solutions you've come up with regarding how to get a couple of angles right - not when you react like you've been hit by a bullet every single time someone posts a suggestion on how to do things otherwise, dare I say, better. So if you wanted an honest unbiased opinion by someone who just appreciates the beauty of the models, there it is. Now, regarding your comments - I don't know which would be the nicest way to put this, but perhaps you really need to step back, have a glass of milk and generally cool down. Your overtly negative attitude is not helping anyone around here - but that thing about "all Asians looking the same to some people" was by far the most pointless comment (to say the least) I've seen recently. I am an average "netizen" to whom most of this space stuff looks the same - but there are MOCs that totally stand out, which this one, at this point, does not. Your endless stream of negativity about it, however, definitely does - and if this average non-Asian netizen is absolutely offended by your comments, then I can only guess how the not-so-average guys around here feel about that.
  4. *sigh* As Toastie says - here we go again... But seriously, since this topic has been discussed on multiple occasions before, I'll refrain from further comments and just refer you to a Brickshelf gallery featuring quite a few photos of these Enlighten trains, along with very specific info on the rails for those as well: this is it. As I said earlier, multiple reviews of Enlighten sets can be found here on Eurobricks. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure that there was a guy who posted a bunch of pics of Enlighten trains on flickr and did detailed reviews on those, but I can't seem to find his photostream at the moment. In any case, if anyone is that interested, you should consider digging through flickr, his reviews were most worthwhile and featured a detailed description of everything that's good or bad about the models of this rip-off brand. I hope this sums up the story regarding reviews and further info on such sets. P.S.: And a little something for Toastie - check out this thread mate, you might find it rather intriguing
  5. Quackylicious! Pretzelful!
  6. Great MOC - need I say that I also love the stone/wood combination? :) Reminds me a bit of Railroad Tycoon II, this one does... which can only be a good thing!
  7. Those are hilarious indeed, keep em coming! Btw, thanks for all the efforts with regards to photography! The pics really bring the text to life and your hints of irony are quite enjoyable :]

    MOC: T.I.A.

Me love dark orange and at the same time me envy you big time... Great scene!
  9. P.S.: Tall is good. This one looks seriously imposing anyway, especially when paired with the Green Grocer in its happy-go-lucky sand green.
  10. No prob, hope you were able to find that information in the links I provided. Pro-Botti or anti-Botti trumpet player then?

  11. So Escher-y! Hats off mate :) @gabe: coziest container evah!
  12. I'm sorry, apparently it's not my best day. In any case, there's a multitude of websites where you could find detailed information on compression and comparisons between the most popular file formats, such as this one for example.
  13. Aaaah-ha! Finally! Bout time we saw this one ;) Nnnnoooooo!!! I love the retro look, plus the fact that it's so massive helps a lot! Another one of these grey floors would have looked good with it, have you considered building it up?
  14. Phew, good thing to know I wasn't the only one left with quite a few tan cheese spares All the more reason to love this set, I guess! Actually, before buying it I thought I'd add 1 or 2 levels of bricks to the first floor to make it possible for minifig-scale vehicles to pass underneath the arches without a problem, but after building it I threw that thought out of the window. The set looks so symmetrical and perfect as it is, it would really be a stupid thing to try and mod it by making it 'more' minifig-scale. Besides, bearing in mind how big this one is, it can easily sit in the background of almost any Town scene and look perfectly believable.
  15. 1 point each to: 27) Pre-Columbian Exchange - Gnewal Gwevus Absolutely loved the story! The alien ship is also quite a funny contraption, but a very appropriate story with 3 figures I couldn't have envisaged being put together otherwise makes this one of my favourites. 2) Darwin Revisited - Yatkuu Another great entry for the same reason - 3 figures you wouldn't have normally expected to see in the same scene. A very unlikely society, but he pulls it off in style. 17) Diver, Surfer & Fisherman Entry - Cecilie Hands-down beautiful landscaping. I almost feel sorry for the poor fisherman, but at the same time I admit I'd definitely like to be in that surfer's shoes!
  16. 1 point each to: 7) Pilot Entry - Dan Church Very nice transition from miniscale to microscale there; and a gorgeous view to boot. Besides, everyone loves a balloon. 27) Fisherman Entry - gussguss Wonderful technique with the underwater bubbles and a beautiful scene altogether. We've grown used to multiple-level vigs, but this one stands out to me for being detailed without going over the top. 20) Fisherman Entry - Mr. TopHat Sweet and believable scene with minimum amount of bricks - that's what vignettes are supposed to be in the first place. NPU with that hook, love to see accessories used in unorthodox ways.
  17. Happy birthday Matija! Have a great one mate :]
  18. Well I guess I misunderstood the "tinypic or imageshack" part of the topic's name then. In any case, compression/quality-wise, it'd obviously be .jpg, as Brickdoctor suggested.
  19. Yep, earlier today. Absolutely awesome build, great job!
  20. Sentiment-wise, from the old days, it would have to be the Precinct Cruiser 6506 or the Spyrius Recon Robot 6889. New sets - the Green Grocer, by a long shot.
  21. I can't really provide an answer on whether tinypic or imageshack is better - I used photobucket back in the day, nowadays predominantly Flickr. With the latter there is always the trouble of having to delete older / irrelevant pics once you start reaching the Pro limit (300 MB monthly, if memory serves), but then again, if you really use image hosting that much and insist on quality, upgrading to Pro probably is something you'd consider. The main reason I like Flickr is because it lets you upload the pic in its original size and then choose which resolution to deeplink it in, while not having to sacrifice any hi-res details.
  22. He is back into blogging business! - Well, it looks as though I really am... and I'm putting my back into it!? It also looks as though Fangy is pretty happy about it
  23. Peppy, this creation of yours could make me reconsider my choice not to build any Sci-Fi / steampunk stuff. Love it!!!
  24. Please use the search engine before posting new threads. As I mentioned in your other topic, these are discussions that we've already had here - a lot of times. Browse the archives for more information. I hope you're not planning on posting a "Your Favourite Modular Set" topic next...
  25. Hey there :) Used to play the piano and the guitar, never became too good with the guitar though... or the piano, for that matter - it was all too long ago anyway. Also took singing classes at one stage and I still think that's the thing I'm best at, but definitely not good enough for a _proper_ musician. Why do you ask, are you a musician yourself?
