The 8295 has a very good inventory. That's all. The model is not playable at all. Steering and the mechanism with the linear actuator don't work well. The mecanism for the outriggers is quite useless (definitely ugly). 8295 is among the worst sets that TLC released. And no comment about the colors. It looks like a Christmas tree (I don't know if this translation is right ; but in French, it is an expression we use ^^ ). As a conclusion, I see that, ONCE AGAIN, models are simply over marked on Eurobricks. -_-'

Hi all ! Polo, one of my friends and moderator on my forum asked me to present his MOC. It is a Venator based on Thire5's one. It may have about 6000 parts and he worked about 300 hours to get such a result ! Here are some photos : @Thire5 : Polo thanks you. Your MOC helped him a lot do his own Venator ! Edit : Polo plans to do a full building instruction. Thus, I (Anio) will be able to reproduce this beauty.

When I see the marks that EB members give to some models (many models actually...), I wonder if these members get money from TLG...

You can be sure that a true Venator does not look like this #8039.

I totally agree with you. TLC should produce new UCS. Anyway, I have friend who is working on a 6000 part Venator. When his instructions are done, I build it immediately (I already have bought some parts).

What for ? Bricks did good photos. He presents well the model. It is definitely useless to redo the same photos. I just disagree with his opinion at the end of the review. So, I gave explanations to say why I disagree.

9/10 is for an awesome set. If this model get 9/10, most of the other sets get 10/10. So, this model is really ugly. A Venator really doesn't look like this. Moreover, it uses stickers and no printed parts. Design : 2/10 The minifig are quite good (2 Clones, 2 Guards, Palaptine), even if I don't really like how CW minifig are designed. Minifig : 7/10 The parts are good. But definitely not amazing. If you want many tile 6x6, call Lego Direct. One of these tile costs about 0,5€. So, you don't need to buy this ugly model to get this new tile. Parts : 6/10 The model is over-priced. IMO, it is not very attractive. Price : 5/10 The model has a good playability. May be too much. That is the reason why it is so ugly. Playability : 7/10 Overall : 4/10. This model is really too expensive, and too ugly (the ulgiest SW model ever ?). 9/10 is a mark for an awesome model. And this Lego is not awesome. IMO, the Classic SW model are much more interesting. The battle of Endor can get 8 or 9/10 for example. Nevertheless, your review is well written and show everything we have to see. But giving a good mark to all the reviewed model strikes me (I always see, 8/10, 9/10, 10/10 what for ?). If a model is bad, I think it is important to say it, and so, to give a bad mark.

9/10 for this model ? O_o IMO, 3/10 or 4/10 is enough for this set. -_-'

I assume you have seen the (only) photo on my Brickshelf gallery ? Anyway, it is finished now. I won't change any part. I just have to add the sticker. Actually, you may think that it is too "clean" because it is built in light bluish gray. But I love light bluish gray. ^^ When I have the sticker, I do many other photos.

I'm glad to see that the MOC appeal to you. :) Yeah, I have to say that since I do MOC (my first MOC was the TIE, 2 months ago), my passion for Lego changes a lot. Doing MOC is very interesting. Unfortunately, I am not yet skilled enough to design Technic MOC. So, I do UCS.

Hera are 4 new photos (eventually I did't want to wait to show you new photos). Their quality is not very good, but it is quite enough to see the MOC. I will do nice photos when the moc is finished. Do you see the storm trooper ? I mean it is not too small ?

They are UCS scaled, with tiles and hinges. :) When I get the missing parts (in some days), I take a photo with a minifig. ;) With the cannons it is 70cm long.

Hum... I would say that I spend about 200 hours to design and build the model. And it has about 3600 parts.

Hi everybody ! The MOC is nearly finished. I still have to do add some parts (trans-clear support brick round 1x1 for example). With a friend, we also will do a sticker for the UCS to be very accurate, just like my TIE UCS. The ATTE also have an interior, with 10 seats. Here is a photo that show the whole left side of the MOC. I hope I will be able to show you the MOC complete soon.

Very nice review ! I agree with everything you write. Actually, this model is priced like a collector model, but it don't have anything collector. :/ Nevertheless, it is a beautiful model. It were much more impressive if it were UCS.

Hi ! Some parts do not have the right color. But I will change them soon. I also have to make the inside (below the cannon). Besides, I think that I won't remove the black bricks. They really support the MOC. With them, the MOC is much stronger ! :) I will try to make them with trans-clear bricks, or something like that. :) I hope you like. :)
