  1. Yeah it's super annoying. If you have a fast pc (or render small size), it opens a popup every 30 seconds and make the pc basically unusable :) i'll add the problem to the issue tracker this is actually super cool, both the model and the rendering!
  2. Lately i've been super busy at work on new projects :( i hope i can resume working on blueprint as soon as possible.. actually a couple of days ago i tryed and tackled the "update model" function which is currently super broken.. This happened to somebody else too.. Looks like some problem with the graphic card or opengl drivers..
  3. Well, of course people can do whatever they want with code made in their free time, right? Distributing an useful program for free is better than having no program at all, i think. If you prefer to pay for a closed source software instead of having it for free, you're welcome to pay :) I guess people have many reason to keep a software closed source, mainly, i think, to keep control over it (avoiding forks etc). I'm actually a supporter of open source code, i've made many open source programs and collaborated with many more. The reason Blueprint and Bluerender are closed source is simple: it's becouse they contain code to access (and extract) Lego intellectual properties contained in LDD. Which is against LDD eula. With the sources of these programs, it would be trivial to write a program to extract the whole database of brick geometries and decorations, something Lego might have some problem with. I've paid great attention in my programs to avoid "leaking" any IP data, like in temp file or such. Reverse engineering for the sake of interoperability is explicitly allowed by law, simply extracting IP data for the sake of it is not. Of course i've never heard from Lego about this, but this is exacly the same way LDD2POVRAY works, and i'm sure (for first hand experience) that Lego tolerates it and even sometime endorses it (like in competitions), so i'm pretty sure they're ok with this way to proceed.
  4. Thanks :) Great renders too! Love your spaceships!
  5. Feels like a strange bug for an OS problem. Are you sure you're ok with the scene.sc etc ?
  6. Hi there, sorry i missed this thread :) Good to see an LDraw Sunflow render too! I've seen you started from the "bluesunflow" version fo the renderer, which is great. There are already a lot of different forks of the program, we could try to keep a single one for "Lego related renderings" to add up our improvements :) As soon as i have some time i'll take a look at your changes and add them to the repository. I'm super busy lately :(
  7. They appear to be two pieces: if you look at the castle in the background, it has the "wedge tile" without the back gray plate. Maybe they're even three, since one of the shield is used as a "skateboard" (hey, Legolas did it first! :P ), so it must have at least a stud on the back. Also, i'm pretty sure this theme is not Castle in any way, and i'm also sure Lego is not considering this as such. This thread should be moved to a more appropriate forum.
  8. Super theme for me! Finally something new and original, love the feel of this, half warhammer 40k, half space, badass knights etc. Some sets look better then other, but i'll surely buy some of them! Plenty of new and useful parts too: the small piramid, the shields, the minifig accessories.. Looking forward for better, official pics!
  9. As good as the drawing were (and they were great) i don't think they can be considered anyway near pictures of the actual sets. Anyway, i like the theme for what we could see. I don't see why so many people criticize it, maybe it's the wrong forum (as this is no "castle" at all), but looks like a nice imaginative theme to me, kids are gonna love it. It reminds me somewhat of He Man. I'll surely buy some of the sets. Looking forward for the actual pictures!
  10. Removing the drawing even? Isn't that a little too much?
  11. Cool render! i'd had it spinning much slower anyway, it makes me seasick at this speed :) Yeah sorry i haven't found the time to update it yet.. i'm a little busy this days :)
  12. There's no automatic way.. I've prepared this little LXF file that has a perfectly centered round plate. You can use it as a reference for your rotation. As for joining the images, there are plenty of tools to do that, even online one. Look at other answers, somebody already pointed out some solutions.
  13. i just gave a quick look, i'm reading everything in detail as soon as i can dedicate some time to it. The screenshots looks great!
  14. the angle is the one defined inside LDD. Just reopen the LXF, orient it and resave :)
  15. Looks awesome! Great model too! Actually there are simplifications, for example it parses the LXF file only once, and load all bricks geometry only once. But those things are fast so you don't get a lot of speed up, all the time is taken by the actual renderer. It's a pity it's not centered, you should try to center your model next time (I know autocentering would be cool :P). It's also spinning a little too fast :) Nice Mantis baddie btw!
  16. Ok, here's the long awaited version 0005. Let me know if you find any obvious problem before i update the page :) Changes are: Black is not real black #93 Glass is now lighter #82 Implemented bublible chrome materials #73 Corrected NPE with invalid color codes (default to white) #86 Implemented aliases parsing and caching #81, #68 360° rotation renders #71 can now place light with transform{} blocks #72 overwrite and other options are now persisted #64 basic parameters are now in the app #65 changed default background to white
  17. There's actually a "mesh light" function in sunflow where you can define any mesh as a light, but i don't think it would work as good as in your example render. I'll add to the TODO list, but i'm afraid you'll have to wait a little :)
  18. and that's unacceptable. Also considering that the portion of the image representing "special materials" is minuscule, it's even more unacceptable. A moc made mainly of those materials rendered close up would take forever.
  19. I'm still trying to tweak them.. the solution of bublible looks great but some of the materials use a tecnique which slows the rendering down considerably. I'm looking for some alternative setup for those materials.
  20. I have defaulted to regular white, and the program will spit a line of output with a warning.
  21. That's not what i asked, what i asked is: what color does it looks when you open it in LDD, so i can choose a similar color.
  22. Indeed. What color does it show as in LDD? (i don't have it now). Shall i default to white?
