  1. Thanks :) you can set a custom background, but you have to manually change the config file located under: C:\Users\youruser\AppData\Roaming\blueprint.ini just set: page.background=c:\mypath\background.png make sure it's the same size as your pages and make it transparent so that the substep colors are visible.
  2. sorry i meant to reply to your post earlier but then forgot :P It's indeed the ghost submodel problem. It's very common, I'll have to fix them in the next release. Glad to see you like the program!
  3. Hi there, maximum resolution size is based on the JavaFx maximum canvas size, which is based on maximum texture size of the underling graphic library. You'll probably wont be able to get more than 2048x2048 or so.
  4. This error looks like you havent unzipped all the files and subfolders of the installation zip. This is actually some broken data in the blueprint model. You have some "ghost" submodels with no steps in it: they're a bug and will break the generation of instructions. To remove them, move away the valid submodel and remove the step completely.
  5. Can you copy/paste the output in the console window (the black window) Glad to hear! Thanks Malou, i'll package the .command files in Blueprint (i hope i can do it on windows)
  6. i've prepared the new release here. Can anyone try it and confirm it works ?
  7. Yeah, in a sense reminded me of Starship Troppers. Military against space bugs. I liked the alien models in GS. There were some cool builds. The only problem i had was the color scheme, too uniform across the theme. Humans were predominantly white but with varing secondary colors, the alien were all lime and dark red.
  8. Ladies and gentlemen, thanks to the help of Malou (and other testers before), i can present: Blueprint on Mac! :) Stay tuned for a release soon!
  9. I actually love LDD, i'd just wish they made it a little more open. Letting people design missing parts or generally poke around would make it beyond great. It would also simplify exports of models for rendering or other porpouses. Having to depend on them for updates (before the the last one there was a huge period of silence (fun fact: i and other Remake builders indirectly caused the release of the update.. so, you're welcome :P )) sucks too. And the flexible part tool can make you question your mental sanity. But despite all of that i'd give a
  10. That was a lovely theme, with some of the most underrated villains of all times. There were some excellent minifigure like Infearno, Psyclone and Antimatter. I've acquired many sets of that theme and loved them, but it's obviously not the "space" kind of sci fi. About the conflict aspect, as everybody i'd prefer something a little more deep than good vs bad, possibly something spanning diverse activities (exploration but also maybe building, resource production, etc) and more than two factions. But i think that's hardly coming, as the theme is tailored to children, mostly, so it's kept simple (I've read similar discussion for the Castle fans, btw). I don't see issues in having sets with two submodels from different factions btw: even if you can like one more than the other, they provide more play value than separated sets. A TV show could probably help give a more profound backstory but it would inevitably contain some kind of fantasy aspect (just like nexo, ninjago or chima) which would probably ruin it for any "serious" sci-fi fan. I guess our only hope is designing our own unofficial theme :)
  11. finally got around to test it! the editor looks nice, snapping parts together works great love the colors choices the program freezes often and is not always responsive i have a weird bug where the program see the mouse pointer 2 cm higher than it is, making the program basically unusable the hinge tool is very very good, and so is the collision detection i feel like the building area is a little small, too much menus around. I would have preferred the part selector on the left, vertical. But at least it can be quickly collapsed with tab ldraw part library so there are the usual missing parts / visual artifacts etc They could have at least exported in regular LDRAW format, for interoperability Contrary to what i've read, submodels can be created! just select some parts and do Model -> Create into submodel (weirdly it only works a selection of more than one item). Steps can be rearranged inside a model/submodel but i can't seem to be able to move a part in another model. no flexible parts (but it would be workable around with LDRAW generators, should it?) I think i'm sticking with LDD for now, but i'm keeping an eye on this!
  12. perhaps they added some extra data to those kind of bricks and have not covered them all yet ?
  13. Ok so i just noticed they released a new version of lwjgl, so i tried updating the project. They now manage all native library automatically so it should "just work" (ahah it will not, but it's worth a try) Could you test it? it can be found at the same link, zip is now about 16 megabytes.
  14. Uhm perhaps you had bluerender open too? i think i messed up and used the same DB name. Anyway i'm changing the database engine i used to a simpler one soon, hopefully it wont complain too much Interesting. Are you sure the java command pointed to the right native libraries ? I'll check if the code contains the opengl setup you suggest.
  15. i don't know about you guys, but i never could feel Star Wars as a "Lego space theme", even if it's definitely sci-fi and spaceships, for reasons even i can't comprehend.
  16. ahah you're right, from the waist down is turnet the wrong way.. you can tell by the box also. Not sure if it looks better with the big wheels on the back. Looking better at the shield, the top edge is visible on some pictures and it looks as a unique part. Pity.
  17. Wow this is super interesting! Just subscribed, I hope they give me some access soon :P Export in LDraw formats and import from LDD strongly point to internal usage of LDraw library. If it were an LDD-derived library it would be impossible (unless they export in some obfuscated way). Do we know how big was the download? Maybe we could infer from that. The UI looks very much like Mecabricks, i would have said it was the same software or at least the same author, if he weren't here :P If the tool is good, i'll surely look into integrating bluerender/blueprint on it (somewhere in 2034).
  18. wops forgot something, just go to the folder C:\Users\skip\AppData\Roaming\ and delete the Bluerender or BluerenderCache folder and it should run
  19. so, can we still hope for a space theme for 2017? i kind of hoped so..
  20. Uhh i love those parts! I always use the baby bows but sometime you don't want curves on your models! Also, why does it one have the ball on the front? :P also, will those shield parts be one or three? I could see them being three, connected by the nexo powers. That would be so much more useful
  21. The problematic part is 95646, ie the Ev3 P-Brick. It has some weird geometry that breaks an algorithm of my program. Anyway, i packaged the next relase, if anyone wants to give it a try before it goes public, it's here Let me know if anything doesn't work
  22. Indeed there's something that breaks blueprint in this, i was able to reproduce the crash. Give me a couple of days and i should be able to fix it
  23. Hi there, i did what i could to make it run on Mac, but i don't own one and developing and debugging it was impossible. I tryed with the help of some users but debugging "by corrispondence" is very hard and we couldn't solve the problem That kind of error is usually from opening a file made with a previous version of LDD while using a recent version of LDD with Blueprint. If this is the case, you could try opening and resaving the file. Otherwise you could send it to me and i'll take a look at the problem.
