I'd like to see a B&V type thing again, but it has been a while since we've seen a store exclusive. Maybe they finally gave up on them, because it's hard to fit them into the story.
-
Oh, are they? Makes more sense that way, what with the Avengers movie and all. But we have seen the Iron Man and Hulk ones, so I kinda figured we'd have seen a few more pics by now. Ah well.
-
Lord knows, maybe that was in some early draft, where he shoots the containment unit down instead, and they're like "nah, that makes it too easy".
-
I can corroborate it, as I mentioned on BZP, so it's legit. Still no high res pics of the Marvel line? Wanna see some decent pictures of Cap.

I don't think you can really call the pacing "bad" when it didn't seem to exist =P. They didn't do the greatest job adapting to it. Oddly enough, I feel like it's almost a complete reversal of the episode; where the dialogue is bad here, it was good in the show, and where the plotting was bad in the show, it was good here. Rocka's "you're gonna need a Doctor, Doctor" (paraphrase, durr) seems surprisingly legit. And their jungle traipse was well handled, condensed well enough, but then there's no understanding of why Scorpio was following them =P. But yeah, they totally just reversed panels half the time; why split up then meet in the same location immediately afterward? Fantastic artwork, as usual. Rarely can I find something to complain with Damaso's work, but not the greatest comic of the series. If Greg has actually left, that could result in the relative drop in quality, but I feel like they could pull it back up without him. Of course, they could also easily fail, so... Comic 8 will tell?
-
Yeah, I can't really think of a game played entirely in reverse perspective =P. More than likely it's a status bar on your enemies.
-
I don't particularly mind one way or another, but like it or not, it's an issue; it needs solving, one way or another.
-
I'm absolutely willing to take that as canon, if I can get solid proof as such; the most ideal way to get said proof is to watch the DVD myself, but I don't exactly have the money for that. As I've said, there has been this massive trolling campaign trying to convince people that his first name is "Daniel"; I've already caught people blatantly lying to me about it, making up a number of different excuses (not to mention that we've already had an admission that the name was falsified and fabricated in the first place) so on this subject, I'm going to be pretty damn skeptical.

Essentially, yes. Sometimes stuff was nice and well thought out. Other times it was "OMG CAN THIS HAVE HAPPENED? IT CAN? THANKS". It necessitated the creation of the BIONICLE Story Squad (which I later became a member of, but that's neither here nor there) to act as a filter for all the ideas. And even there, there are some hella crappy ideas that still got through. It was an unfortunate result of an overactive fan base and an overworked writer. And Greg isn't actually involved with Hero Factory, despite many people thinking that he is =P. He just adapts the TV scripts into comics (which he does admirably; definitely a part of the BIONICLE experience that drew me in. He's a natural at comic book writing), but isn't involved in any story capacity to the best of my knowledge. Which I'm okay with, I just wish people were more aware of it; I've seen plenty of "LET'S ASK GREG" about Hero Factory stuff. Even if he was involved, I would hope that (social networking bans aside) he wouldn't turn Hero Factory into BIONICLE again, in terms of the sheer number of crap that got canonized. Although I hear Ninjago has a cool story thanks to him, so kudos. I can think of several reasons, but in the interest of keeping things civil, I won't mention them =P. BIONICLE has raised me to be paranoid, and the sheer ease with which that picture could have been 'shopped is not assuaging my doubts. (seriously; take the "aniel" from Zib's first name, and the capital "D" from Bulk's first name, and presto shazam. A black background makes everything easier.) I'd absolutely love to be proven wrong, but like I've said, I'm going to maintain my general paranoia until I can get some rock solid proof.

Not enough credibility. But again, that just makes LEGO look bad. They see people going "dude this is a cool name where does it come from" and they themselves don't bother to find out where it originated? It cost other fans who make it a point to actually record this stuff a huge hassle to sort out what's what, but clearly we're the segment that doesn't matter. If they weren't going to put the effort into naming him in the first place, then this just looks sloppy. Not to mention the awful parallels between this and the canonization fad of BZP.
-
Problem being the guy above me just admitted to faking it =P.
-
Even if it isn't fake, I'm going to be disappointed in LEGO. I can just add crap to Wikipedia and turn it into facts? Cool. Isn't that NOT the point of Wikipedia?
-
I'll take that, sure. I have a healthy sense of skepticism; I'd rather be a paranoid hardass than be played for a fool.
-
I am disappoint. I'm willing to bet that was faked. Seems too convenient, not to mention ridiculously easy to do. I'd love to be proven wrong, but there seems to be some massive trolling conspiracy involving his name, and my skepticism level is peaked.

Scylla as a term at least makes sense (ancient Greek sea beast), but I dunno what the heck Z'chaya is XP. Anyway, I'd say the Black Hole seems somewhat significant. Hopefully Von Nebula is related somehow.

That game looks mighty fine. Creep Crushers was quirky and unique in its own way, but then they repeated it with Jungle Crushers; definitely looking forward to this. And yeah, I had heard some talk of the Hero Core containing a game code, but didn't think I was allowed to say anything =P. Obviously the Hero Core has a flat back, but two pins seems like it takes up too much room. And takes away from some customizing, but ah well. Design choice.

Oh god those hi-res pics are glorious. They're all so much want. Somebody should make a gallery of them.
-
Typical BZP, banning these pics even though they're pretty legit =P I was actually thinking that Furno uses that arm piece to connect his jet turbines. It's possible that Reapa uses it too, but if I can tell the depth correctly, what Aanch said makes more sense.
-
Yeah, we ended up debating on whether or not they would go through with that idea =P Also somebody needs to make a gallery, so I can be lazy and not work around the fact that they're php files.
-
Dude, don't apologize. The conversation was getting derailed anyway XP. Those pictures are the shiznit. BP isn't terribly different, but he looks a lot more well done, even if the build is the same. This line is gonna rock.
-
Looking good, when do these guys come out? I'm definitely gonna be getting a few of them (the DC ones all have great color pieces, especially).
-
They can, but without the concept of gender, the concept of "love" is ultimately distorted. We already had BIONICLE, where the only kind of love we saw was platonic, but they still had genders. You can't have something completely alien and expect humans to empathize; that's what villains represent. You can give them certain characteristics befitting a type or another, but without gender to contextualize them, they become incomprehensible in terms of motivation. Not to mention the fact that they have voices; when you have clearly set them apart in terms of everything but calling it gender, there's nothing left to do but label it. It's been well documented that audiences as a whole connect better with things the closer to human they are. Disney is a prime example of this; even with non-humanoids, they experience very real, human emotions, which allows audiences to understand what they are experiencing and place it in the proper context. We need a generalized HF topic =P

I just mean each character has their personality defined in a certain way; Nex and Evo are introduced by Makuro, who explains what they're like, and they have that opportunity to display who they're going to be; Furno and Stormer have their previous characterizations from RotR to carry them through, as they're both strong personalities; Surge has the episode revolving around his emotional struggles and eventually culminates in his success. That leaves Breez. With no opportunity to develop her character or personality, the writers and director simply gave her a "I am woman hear me roar" attitude to compensate for her complete lack of characterization. At least, that's how I see it =P. OoF was definitely too short to have a real flow to it, but there were certain elements that saved it from being a completely disjointed mess; however, I didn't see Breez really meshing in with any of it. Again, that's why I'm hoping she actually gets some development in the new series, and that they don't just fall back on her stereotypes from OoF. Also lol. I don't really know why I didn't like Wall-E. I just couldn't really seem to bring myself to care about the little robot =P. Whole movie just seemed to futile. I know I'm in the minority opinion on that one, though.

Like I said, that's just my interpretation of things; I found her over the top personality to be obnoxious, and not conducive to the point she's supposedly trying to get across. My only hope is that she isn't that rabid about her feministic points in upcoming story material, so she can have some actual growth as a character. I didn't think it jived with the flow of Ordeal of Fire, and since we're probably (I think it was confirmed, right?) getting an episode of HF in 2012, I would like her character to be less fanatical than OoF. Edit: The gender is mostly to help people relate better; Wall-E, for instance, would be far less interesting (I already found it really boring, but whatever) if there was no romantic connection between him and Eve.
-
It's topic conversations like these that turned BZP into an explosion waiting to happen even before it went down. I don't misunderstand feminism at all; I just hate it when people think the only way to get that particular point across IS to shove it in my face. It's the "quit while you're ahead" adage; it seems defeatist on its surface, but really, the essence is that you are at a point where continuing isn't going to help your cause. I can't tell that Breez isn't being treated equally (aside from snipes about romantic feelings, which are directed as much to Furno as they are to her, in fairness) because all I have to go on is her extremely loud and (in my personal opinion) obnoxious rantings about it. This is why I wish Hero Factory WOULD have more female Heroes; so Breez doesn't have the be the token and reduce herself to a trope just to represent the entire gender, because that just isn't working. There's also Daniella Capricorn, but she's just mean =P. And more of a parody of newscasters in general.
