Did you find you had 8x8 non-grated plates instead. They were replaced in many sets with an accompanying instruction addendum. That obviously doesn't explain the minifigs. Regards Batmobile, yes the height of the missile launcher is annoying isn't it? The only really bad one I had was Boba's new Slave I in which one of the big curved pieces was bent to buggery

This is getting confusing. Can I suggest we cease discussing Star Wars here in light of the existance of this thread?
-
Yes, but we all want a TIE Defender! >:-(
-
Now that would make much more sense
-
I was really looking forward to that TIE Defender. The Droid Gunship just doesn't do anything for me. Besides, we've had enough big SW sets recently. Agents... interesting. I probably won't bother but I'll be interested in what they do.

2008 sets are ALL up for pre-order or order in S@H
captaintau replied to Belloq's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Somehow I could see that coming before I opened the thread! :-( -
I got it for Christmas from the in-laws (which I suspect means Mrs Tau actually bought it). I haven't watched it yet, because... I've been building my AT-AT! :-D
-
Mrs Tau to the most wonderful, thoughtful, amazing girlfriend an AFOL could wish for. SHE GOT ME THE AT-AT!!! :-D
-
AT-TE and RGS - please noooooooo! I suspect they'll be great sets, but I simply don't have the space. I really don't know what I'll do. I'm already wondering where the hell I'm gonna put that AT-AT that I haven't bought get! TIE Defender - great. This one I'm most looking forward to.

I'm working on Jaina. I've sourced a Y-Wing minifug for his body. I'll use a Leia head (since Leia's her mother, it should work). I plan on a purple lightsaber. I'll get an unmarked helmet. Now, hair: which is more appropriate: x104 x161 Or something else. And it what colour?

After almost one year sorting bricks...
captaintau replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's impressive, Bonaparte. A whole year to do it? Now how long (or how much MOCing) will it take to un-sort it? -
So there's definately hope for the AT-AT, then :-)

Question: do people buy you LEGOs as gifts?

Thank you, that's brilliant.

Question: do people buy you LEGOs as gifts?
captaintau replied to Medievalego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sadly little, though my Other Half did buy me the new Y-Wing for my birthday. I've made it very clear that the second best possible Christmas present woudl be the AT-AT, but she's struggling to get it. The best best would be a new Katana. A real one, that is. -
Calling on the supreme knowledge of my fellow EBers. I've finally committed myself to spending some time MOCing. Not sure what time I have spare, but I'll fit it in somehow. Now, I don't know if this is the correct place, it being a predominantly MOC-question. If not, then I apologise and accept that the thread will be moved. However, I'm looking for help from other Star Wars fans. Firstly, the idea. I'm not a MOC expert, so I'm MODing rather than MOCing. I'm taking the most recent version of the system-scale X-Wing and making it a Stealth X. I'm doing this by sourcing the parts from Bricklink using the inventory on Peeron. I'm changing all white to black, leaving all light grey/bley light grey/bley and changing anything else to dark grey. I'm going to try to make it a little smaller, since the Stealth X is apparently a little smaller. Maybe two studs length-wise and two studs width-wise. I'm going to try to make it a little more sleek. More curvy, just teh Stealth X has less pronounced angles than the X-Wing. I'm going to try to add in some sort of projectile - Shadow Bombs. The whole thing could be a continual work in progress. Problem 1: colours. I'm struggling to translate the colours described by Peeron into meaningful colours on Bricklink. Peeron describes Light- medium- and dark stone. How do these translate to grey/bley? Problem 2: Pilot and droid. ho do I use. I'm thinking Luke and R2. I already have a spare R2. I could use hsi Final Duel body and find and older-person's head. Or should he be in flight suit? Or I coudl be a little more adventurous. I'm thinking Jaina: appropaite body (Jedi robes or flight suit) and female head ith long brown hair. The Droid, "Sneaker" can be green printed head on red printed body. She'll need a purple lightsaber. What does everything think, and can you help, please?

Surely you mean "'on' emoticon ON!" :-D

Welcome back. Tell us about the little one

Oh, bloody hell. Not bought LEGO in ages due to low funds. Got a temporary second job and so with main job payday this week, I bought the Limited Edition Republic Cruiser before it became unavailable. And now I might miss the AT-AT. >:-( I missed it the first time around. I really feel my collection is incomplete without one.I really think a VERY strong hint to Mrs Tau might be in order. I got the Hoth Base, though.

Just finished building mine. Haven't bought any LEGO in ages due to low funds. A temporary second job has meant I could buy this while I stil could. Love it. Great build. As has been said, hardly any repetition. No stickers. Decent playability value. Nice features. Now, where do I put it *wacko*
