Nice review, thanks! I never got this set, since it came out in my dark ages, but I did pick up a few of the printed cockpit pieces on Bricklink last month. The set itself seems just OK, but I wish they still put so many great printed pieces in sets. Darthperson is totally right that this set is a good example of how Lego design has improved in the official sets since the launch of the line. If they did release an updated Gungan sub, I would buy it in a second.

I voted for straight bley as my favorite and bent chrome as my least favorite. I know everybody is wondering what I'm smoking, but it was for a simple reason: durability. I HATE when the chrome flakes off my lightsabers, so I like the bley. The bent lightsabers are the rarest, so I'm afraid to use the couple that I have at all. Right now, my Dooku is holding one of my extra bent bley sabers from 7676. It doesn't look as cool, but at least I'm not ruining a $5 piece simply by putting it in the minifig's hands. I don't know how the new metallic color will last, but I suspect you can damage it without trying very hard.

It makes a perfect leprechaun beard, great job! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The end of Batman is a real shame, but now I understand why the figs are so expensive on Bricklink. I've been looking through the licensed themes for light flesh heads that I don't have, and some of the really cool Batman figs go for $20 or $30. I suppose it will only get worse.

I'm looking forward to these sets, as well. I just hope they release more track that goes with the nice pieces from the Temple of Doom set sometime. I could use some of the rails from the Dwarves Mine to add straight sections, but I think they are the wrong color.

I would definitely have to buy it if it included a dog with spots. I've been wishing for more than brown and grey for a while. Chocolate brown is a great color, so I hope your wish for a building of it comes true.

I have 6211, and I love it. There is way more space in an open interior (especially for modding), but getting to it involves putting the ship on a large open space and removing the superstructure. The smaller space in the Venator is much easier to access, and the missle/bomb stuff works pretty well. Plus, the ship itself looks sturdier. I agree with you that 6211 is great for MODs and display, but I think the Venator will be a lot more fun when built according to the instructions. I guess the point I was trying to make is that they balanced playability and interior space better in the Venator. 6211 has more space, but the playability was horrible without lots of work.

Thanks for the video! It definitely makes me want the ship more, and I think they have done a much better job designing a ship with playability and interior space than they did with the old Star Destroyer (6211).

I sure hope it doesn't end soon, but I bet it will depend on sales. If IJ has a weak year this year (not likely) or next year, then they will probably kill it just like they did with Exoforce. The terms of the license may also affect what happens to the line, but I don't know anything about those.

I wouldn't mind a European fire engine, but I doubt they will do different versions for the different markets. I would kind of be surprised if it included a fire engine at all, but I hope it does.

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)

I sure hope that's how it works, since running two trains on a single remote without switching channels would be amazing.- 559 replies

Definitely. The extra Stormtrooper and especially the stand make this the best version of the TIE fighter. I got one of these sets on eBay a couple of years ago, and I love it. The printing on the stormtrooper was pretty crooked, but I think that was a common problem on the early troopers.
-
Nice review! It really makes me want this set, especially since I've enjoyed the recent minis so much. I bet it was awesome to collect all the sets from 2003 and make the TIE bomber.
-
I grabbed some of the small power miners sets for the same reason, and I liked them better than I thought I would. I just wish they didn't have any of the softer Bionicle pieces.
-
I voted for Death Star Vader, even though I didn't get it until early '09 with the new Vader's TIE. The updated printing is amazing, but the Rebel Trooper and the battle damaged Vader were close runners up for me. 2009 is going to be even better, especially for those of us who are learning to love the CW toon faces.

Yeah, her droid is great. I also like putting the dark red droid head from the V-Wing on her droid's body. On topic: I bought a bunch of different flesh tone heads today on Bricklink. My Lego town is small, so I decided to convert it to fleshies a while ago. Now I'm trying to get all the different heads I can, but some of them are really expensive.
-
What a great town collection! You have so many great sets from so many years all put together. You even managed to integrate the Lego Sports line. The minifig parade is my favorite, too.
-
It was released in 2006 in the USA, too. I picked one up a couple of months after I came out of my dark ages, and the non-LULs Mace that came with it is great. Reading this thread inspired me to pick up an extra head from that minifig. I also like the new CW Mace. I didn't like any of the new cartoon style faces at first, but I'm really starting to warm up to them. I agree that the new Palpatine looks really good. It's incredibly creepy, but I like it.

Nice review! This was one of the first non-Star Wars that I bought after my dark ages, and I didn't regret it. It was the only Harry Potter set I ever got, and I wish they didn't stop making them. This set has so many great accessories and minifigs. I wish I could rebuild mine now, but I'm using a lot of the parts for other things.
-
What great versions of the new Pirates sets you have made! This is exactly the type of creative fun the Pirates building set was designed for.
-
I had trouble finding the new kitchen stuff, too. It doesn't appear anywhere under "browse by theme," so you have to browse by "category." Click "apparell, home & outdoors," then click "household accessories" to find the cookie cutter (and some other neat stuff they have available in the UK that's not available in the US).

Black NXT Tank
soc399 replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That thing is awesome. It seemed better at knocking down the walls by itself than under remote control. -
This is a great addition to the village that you're building. I really like the interior details like the book shelf and the carrot greens in the clear 1x1 cylinder.

The werewolf, the mummy, and Frankenstein's monster are worth quite a bit, as well. Anyway, that's an awesome collection. I'm totally jealous, since I missed the whole Studios line during my dark ages. I would love to get Frankenstein's monster and the mummy sometime, but I don't have $30 to spend on two minifigs.
