  1. There we have it! I've thrown my Shako into the ring! With possibly the first Eslandola build to boot! Here's my entry! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  2. Thar she blows! My entry to this glorious contest! Here to we may observe Dannylonglegs' infamous "Vertical" approach to vignette making! Trolling Atlantis by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr The Oleon warn that these waters be cursed. They say that once upon a time, there were an Island here, inhabited by wicked people... They say that King Neptune sunk the Island to the sea and made its inhabitants into creatures of the depths as punishment for their heathen ways... But the merchants of Eslandola care little for that superstition... at least not the fishermen aboard this particular ship! Instead, they've grown to love the local waters, as the fish here are abundant! Including the delicious Manatees, as the ship's physician calls them. Trolling Atlantis by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Yes! Manatees are delicious! Once you split the light meat from the dark meat, that is. The only downside is the screams. They sound... human. In fact, their cries for help have driven the captian to insomnia... but you know what they say: "A good captain can't fall asleep." And who might this knowledgeable scientist be? Why, that'd be physician Long! Born into a family of wealth, Physician Long attended University in Corrington, where she learned her trade, and now she works as a physician and Naturalist for the benefit of the Eslandola trade empire! Particularly the West Octania Trading Company. Trolling Atlantis by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr Physician Long: "You should have alerted me earlier of your condition. Judging by the smell alone, I'd say your leg has gone Gangrenous. There's nothing to do other than amputate. I'm going to need you to bite this bullet. This is going to hurt. A lot." Patient: "Can't I get a drop o' rum to anesthetize meself?" Physician Long: "No. You've drunk your quota for this pay period. Hold still." Trolling Atlantis by Danny-Longlegs, on Flickr The Inhabitants of the local waters are none too happy about the increase in fishing. But perhaps that's part of their punishment by Neptune. Perhaps they should have been better humans. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  3. I really really really hope it's not a pink jewel. Buy one Elves set and you'll know why. I've purchased 3... In other news, anyone want a pink jewel? (Just kidding.) ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  4. It sounds like you've seen the robut and receptionist. Any info you can give us? Is she wearing a gaudy suit? What colour is the robut? New molds? what's the laser? Is it a reference to Spyrius? I'm actually not dissapointed in the least that the jewel thief is female! Maybe we'll see that rope piece again! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  5. Thanks for the info! I don't say it'll be 1-4 because I want it to be. I'm saying that because I think it's most likely. I would prefer slightly a 2-4, but I am not getting my hopes up. I readily accept any design for the piece, since it's really been a long time coming to have a dedicated 1600s dress piece. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  6. I personally hope that the Scary Knight will be a total reference to Fright Knights. Even rebooting the batlord helmet. That'd be quite nice. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  7. Depending on the type of dancer (or, how it looks, if not explicit) I could have "Ballerina" right. Other than that, 0. I should have kept Queen over Violinist... but I desperately need a Lego violin. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  8. They've never reused a torso before. I say, new torso colour. Flippers on the otherhand... maybe. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  9. The Boudon concepts show a new piece too. Even if it's 4-2 it'll be a new piece. That said, if I am forced to swallow my licorice hat and the mold is exactly like Boudon's, then I still think it'd be unlikely for Lego to throw on a cheese slope bow. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  10. It's definitely not going to be the old piece. I don't think they still make that piece, and besides, that piece would be far too bulky. Either a flat 1-4 or 1-4 to 1-2 transition. Or a new 2-4 piece designed specifically to be a dress, but certainly not the old piece. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  11. So, the new pannier Dress piece is confirmed (in the CMF wave 15)! I suspect this means we'll be having a Princess or two in this wave use it as well! maybe Ballroom Belle! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  12. My thoughts on the figs we have yet to see: Pest control: I hope this is pest control and not a zoo keeper. This I may have to get! I hope it comes with an ant and a recolour of the Hazmat suit and bug killing gun! it'll probably say in his Bio that he loves bugs and just moves them out instead of killing them. Lego's chumps. Jewel Theif: could be alright. I never got the masked and mostachioed art thief from the police theme, but I liked that figure, so maybe he'll be like that and I can get him. Tribal Woman: but time. Can't wait to see how they do it. hopefully it's classy. Winged warrior: I wish it was actually road warrior Furiosa, but Lego'd never do that. as it is, it'll probably be really cool. I hope for a Valkyrie! Likely new wing piece! Satyr: Sexy. Need 10. No pics yet, but I know. I know I need it. Scary Knight: Why has no one mentioned this? May be my favorite of the wave, save for Satyr, if so. I want this. Don't tell me I'm wrong. Shh. Just don't. Wrestler: yawn. Kendo guy: Army builder! I am very very happy! Astronaut: well, I hope it's something new... 'cause I have a lot of contemporary Astronaut figures... Robot with Lazer: hmmm. Could be cool. Wonder how it'll look. Receptionist: ooh LA la! I'm hoping for spiffy burgundy/purple suits Ala Grand Budapest Hotel! Make it as peacockish and gaudy as you can! Male farmer: probably nice. Want to see that Pig! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  13. I agree 100% here. Hat and plant head are easily confusable. I'd try for the broom. Once you get the big hat or plant piece you can distinguish between the two by feeling the long stick of the broom. Or the cat. The vine piece is an indication of the plant guy. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  14. Are we allowed to see those now? I think the Dress will be 4-1, but won't be surprised if it's perhaps a bit like a skinny half dome and have a 4-1 to 4-2 to 4-1 transition. I do not think it will be a 4-2 all the way around though, and do not believe it will be the old piece mentioned earlier. I don't even know if they still have the mould for that piece. I just think a 4-2 rectangle would be too bulky, and if they follow the preliminary art design, it'll also be too complex a part. It could happen, but my suspicion is that it'll be a flat 4-1, or 4-1 to 4-2 half dome of some kind. I actually think 4-1 is great. If you look at dresses of Marie Antoinette's era, they are that thin and wide. Particularly Marie herself ushered in a thiner, wider pannier than previously seen. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pannier_(clothing) On other figures though, I concede it may look odd. Here I like it in conjunction with the cloak. You may need to give him long sleeves! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  15. Definitely not! I also called it! Shark costume guy is 100% Left Shark. And his head is indeed peeping out between the teeth! Very amusing! So, regarding the figures we've seen, Qu3en: Gorgeous! Calling it right now, the dress is a new piece. not 4/2, as the old piece, but 4/1. She's a must buy! While I will likely only purchase one of her (she really does go well with the recent king figure!) What I am most excited by is the dress piece. I expect to see its reuse (perhaps extensively) in the upcoming Disney line. The hair looks nice too. And the cloak will of course be lovely. This gives me hope we will get that Marie Antoinette figure soonish! Clumsy man: so many people have been clamoring for this one. It's nice. Didn't expect crutches.I'll need to get at least one of this guy. The head bandages are really nice too! I'll certainly get a few of this guy for the accessories! I'm not too interested by the figure itself, but I don't particularly get interested by City figures unless they're particularly useful for other (sci-fi, typically) themes. Banana shirt is hilarious. Poor bloke. Shark Guy: Left Shark. What the heck Lego?! I'm sure they decided on this immediately after seeing the Keshia performance and this was as soon as they could reproduce it. Hilarious! I'll get one, but I have no idea what I'll do with it. I like the flippers. I wonder if we'll see them again ever. Doubt it. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  16. I called it! Although I didn't ever actually say I suspected it... Djinns can be cool. Maybe we'll see more of them in the future! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

  18. Did someone say Steering Wheel Warrior? ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  19. The ostrich race is objectively an amazing set. At the time it was in stores it was an amazing bargain for all the great reusable parts and minifig parts. Go with that if you can! But no. No current sets have a plain naked fleshy torso. Hopefully that'll change eventually. I've been hoping to get more fleshy minifig parts too. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  20. I was thinking about how you mentioned that earlier too! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
