  1. The 7965 sells here around US$250-280 in TRU, and I got it through a local online seller at around US$150, just $10 higher than the US price of US$140, so it's a great bargain for me.
  2. For someone living in a part of the world where LEGO prices are double the regular US/EU price, I got a great deal when I acquired today the 7965 - Millennium Falcon at roughly half the selling price here.
  3. I guess I'm the 'unofficial' resident resource person for spray-painting here eh? Well, yeah I've tried to use a dark red spray paint before, specifically in Ahsoka's JSF where I custom painted the 4x1 slopes which are unavailable in dark red. I don't remember the exact brand of the spray paint I used, because I use a lot of brands (probably Bosny or Tamiya). The advice I always give is when you buy at the store be sure to bring a reference LEGO piece sample so you could compare the color side by side with the color chart/swatch. But expect that you cannot get the exact color match, and as you can see in the picture there is an observable difference between the standard and spray painted dark red.
  4. Yeah I know, that's why I said I'm not a fan of mid-game changes, since it somehow disregards our previous knowledge (which took our time accumulating and analyzing info) of the meals. I guess I'll just shut up at the moment and just bring this up in the 'afterlife'. Ok go on people with the voting...
  5. Well if you don't like what I'm proposing which might be of benefit to us all then that's fine with me, I'm actually voicing this out on my own accord and without the knowledge of my gang teammates and 'allies' (after all has been said and done, you'll know I'm telling the truth ). I'm just stating a possibility, and if you think it doesn't make sense then I respect your opinion (even if I hate you, Urgh.). I just can't help but think of the possible scenario where only two teams of equal numbers are left, and all the kill meals and the neutral have been taken out, then what would happen???????????? Oh yeah I got it, the Warden will introduce new contraband/weapons so we could kill each other and force the matter so that only one team will win in the end, right... Honestly, I don't like it when the rules are being "changed" in the middle of the 'game' (of prison life).
  6. Oh believe me Sharky, even if I'm in the 'majority', I ain't havin' fun either with what's happening, especially at this s-l-o-o-o-w p-p-a-c-e of events... You'd understand our tactic if you were in our side, and you probably would've done the same thing too. It ain't our (all of us) fault really, and we could all blame Mr. Warden Gassypants for putting us on this ordeal and forcing us to outnumber each other's gang. Personally, I have no problems with anyone of you guys in Saturn, Venus, El Pltns, Mars (even if I hate all of you and I'd like to blow everyone of you to pieces). I know you did what you have to do (kill, posion, lynch) because you're forced by the situation, just like me and every inmate around you. My theory the other day still stands: what if all the kill meals are taken out of the game and we all choose not to vote, then what will happen??? It's either we ALL SURVIVE (good for us all) or the Warden enforces his iron hand and executes all of us (which I believe is in violation of Galactic Penology Law). But as long as the kill meals exist, expect to continue this dragging pace of events...
  7. Hi there, thank you for sharing this MOC. But in the future, pls. kindly observe proper capitalization in your posts. I've edited the title to a more descriptive one.
  8. Yeah, those awesome trailers of the upcoming SWTOR game has been making the rounds on the internet recently, and that could be where the rumored EU 2012 set will be based on, but we still have no confirmation so far.
  9. I think it makes more sense for the two 3-member gangs (Venus & Mars) to stick together at this point. And by my count, the Saturn Rings Gang had two successful kills and two failed attempts, how's that for a killing spree? So Scar and I will: Vote: Saproton Veeck (Sandy)
  10. Pls. take more effort in putting the necessary punctuation and capitalization in your sentences, as we don't tolerate this kind of hard-to-read posts here in the site. Consider this a friendly reminder/warning. Ok move on with the discussion people... I agree, I think they've already made Rex as a textbook 'good-guy' character in the series that I will find a hard time imagining him executing Order 66. Like what Doc said, the best way to deal with Rex (and Ahsoka) is for them to die in the series, which makes sense since it will push Anakin more towards to the Dark Side having two of his closest 'comrades in the war' gone.
  11. Surprised "Innocent" Sharky? We're you expecting more dead to eat today? I guess you just have to be content with the guard's 'smoking parts' then.
  12. Merged with the existing topic.
  13. I've never been a fan of Video Games and EU stuff, but when I chanced upon seeing this Cinematic Intro of the upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic I can't help but really appreciate the animation, especially the realistic look of the characters (ala-Final Fantasy) and the action-packed and well-choreographed lightsaber fights and battle scenes. "The Return" Trailer "Hope" Trailer And another: "Signs of War" Trailer http://www.youtube.c...Jo&feature=fvsr
  14. My vote is based on the goal (and hope) of eliminating one of the "kill meals" more than anything. It has been totally confusing these past few days with the various private talks/offers/counteroffers coming from all sides, all I want for us to reach the status where there are no more killing. Sorry, but I have to: Vote: Rirsol Maasym (Rick)
  15. Thanks! I don't have any estimate, though I believe there is an application in the LDD forum where you could export the parts list into a Bricklink spreadsheet or something, but I have not tried to use it. So just download the LXF file and try to use the said application. No problem, I guess I have to blame the large scale I worked on which offset the 'should've been properly-sized elements (front ball guns, engine cylinders, etc.) Thanks guys! Thanks! I'm glad I impressed the Simon Cowell of our SW forum (and I mean that as a compliment) And I agree with all your points regarding the short missile launchers, large wing holder, and upside down 74-Zs. I actually noticed all of these when I was reviewing the final design but laziness finally caught up to me and I did not change these. I know someone with a keen eye as you would spot these. I'll probably change these when I have the time, and they're quite minor so it wouldn't be that difficult.
  16. I hope so too! That's why I made it a point to take screenshots at various angles, so I could see if the proportions are correct, and I think I did my best to capture the overall proportions correct with the available LEGO parts. I'm glad you liked it, I hope to see your take on this in real brickbuild in the near future. I knew someone with the technical expertise would spot the inaccuracies of this design, and you pretty much summed up my 'frustrations' when I was making this one. My responses in blue. Thanks LT!
  17. I guess with the revised rules of our survival here in the prison, we're now forced to kill each other. As much as I hate you alien twerps, we have no other course of action but to let this killing spree continue. And with no lynching looming on the horizon, this could drag on for a while...
  18. It has been a while since I did some MOCing, and being physically away from my bricks, I had to turn to LDD to 'release my creative juices'. Inspired by a recent discussion on possible future UCS sets, and challenged by the idea of making my first UCS Design, I present my take on a UCS-scale LAAT/i a.k.a. the Republic Gunship: Project Details: Piece Count: 1,922 (unoptimized) Dimensions: L x W x H = 70 x 84 x 24 studs Design Manhours = approx. 24 hours Different Views: A Closer Look: Left: Detailed cockpit interiors and brickbuilt top cockpit canopy Right: Rear speeder bike rack and sliding door with open viewports (74-Z speeder bike design courtesy of Praiter Yed) Left: Side bubble turrets and troop bay with deckplates Right: Armature swing details of the side bubble turrets Left: Exposed missile belt thread area at the top Right: Ball turret with firing dishes and four air-to-air rockets on each wing A comparison in size with the 7676 Republic Gunship: (7676 RGS LDD design courtesy of ADHO15) Some self-criticisms: - I will admit right from the start that this digital design was made with accuracy and detailing as the focal points, and as such this is a highly unstable model when built with real parts. Making this in real brickbuild will require some 'stability adjustments' from the builder. - Most of the parts are not available in the current colors. - The piece count is still not optimized and can still be further reduced. And before somebody asks, will I build it? Probably when I get the right parts and time to actually build it. Here's the LXF file for those who want to take a closer look at this. And being a digital model, you could make constructive criticisms by simply modifying the build with your suggestion to improve the design and report the file here.
  19. You know what, I totally agree with this. Just imagine, if there are no more killing action (all 'kill/poison meals' and the neutral killer), then this ordeal would automatically stop right? If all of us could not kill, and we choose not to vote off anybody, then WE ALL SURVIVE IN THE END, no matter what gang we're part of. Am I making sense here? Why continue with the killing when we could stop it? Even if this is a ducked up place, can we pull off something like this? Or am I sounding like that "Vote-for-the-NPC" guy?
  20. Thanks guys for all the greetings and well-wishes!
  21. Every LEGO 'love story' has a its own unique beginning, and mine started exactly 22 years ago when I received my first ever Lego set during my 7th birthday. This cute little truck opened the wonderful world of LEGO to me, and from then on, I've become a life-long fan until this very day. As a tribute to this little set who holds a special place in my heart, I will be reviewing my first LEGO set as my first ever set review here in Eurobricks. Name: Emergency Repair Truck Number: 6521 Theme: Town Year: 1987 Pieces: 58 Minifigs: 1 Condition Acquired: Used / Incomplete (w/o box) Price: Current Average Price on Bricklink: New - US $100-110 | Used - US $10-12 Brickset | Bricklink | Peeron The Box Image courtesy of peeron. Since the original set I received when I was a kid was gone a long time ago, and the set that I recently acquired is in 'used and incomplete' condition, I have no image of the box except this reference image taken from peeron. The box has the classic yellow color with the LEGOLAND name shown in the upper left corner. The dimensions of the box are 14.2 x 7.1 x 4.8 cm according to Bricklink. The front simply shows the truck and the minifig against a peaceful nature backdrop of blue skies and green mountains. Instructions The instruction sheet cover is quite similar to the front of the box, slightly differing only in the positioning of the minifig and the truck. As expected in small sets, the instructions are all contained on a single sheet, with the steps compactly fitted on the two faces of the sheet. There is also the usual noticeable fold line on the instruction sheet. Parts The set contains a humble 58 pieces, majority of which are the yellow parts for the truck. I really love that classic vehicle chassis piece, even with the upgraded version found on newer CITY vehicles. Interesting pieces to note are the printed 1 x 2 x 2 panels with the Highway Department logo (which are exclusive to this set) and the 1 x 4 tile with the Black Wrench pattern. The torso of the emergency repairman also sport the similar Highway Department logo. The Build The build of the truck is fairly simple and straightforward. In only 12 steps, you'll be able to easily finish the model in about 5 minutes. It's not the usual practice on reviews to show all the building steps but since it's only a few, I might as well show all of them to see the progress of the build. The Minifig Here we have our ever-reliable emergency repairman donning a blue jacket printed with the aforementioned Highway Department logo, a simple zipper line and handy pocket on the right side. The torso print may be simple but it gets the job done IMO. He also sports light gray pants, red cap, and that classic minifig smile. The back of the torso has no printing. The Truck Different Views: The truck viewed at different angles, showing the overall pick-up truck design and various minor details. Personally, I love the compact look of the classic Town vehicles like this one, as it adds to the overall 'cute' look. And for a truck of its small size I think it's packed with the right amount of details and functionality. Playable Features: The simple but quite useful features of this truck include the opening roof and doors, both of which are distinctly lacking in most modern CITY vehicles. In the back you can find the dual-function tools, the mallet/hammer and the screwdriver/spanner. There is also some storage space at the back to accommodate other items (box sample shown is not included in the set). Conclusion and Scores Design: 9/10 The classic, compact 4-stud width with small wheels design is a nostalgic winner for me. The yellow color scheme is consistent with the color choice for repair trucks like the new 3179 version. Build: 8/10 The build is very simple and easy to finish, nothing really complicated. Playability: 8/10 For a small set the functional doors and roof are nice playable features. Parts: 9/10 Most of the parts are relatively common, but it's quite nice to have two 'rare' parts which are exclusive to this set. Price: 8/10 At the current price for 'Used condition' at approximately US $10, this is a nice set to have especially if you are into classic town sets. But for the New/MISB price, I don't think it's practical to purchase at such a high price, unless you really are a serious set collector. Final Verdict: 84% / 8.4/10 Classic Town sets have a soft spot in my heart, and if you're like me who's into classic town and you ever get the chance to get this set at a reasonable price, I believe it is worth getting especially if you have your own classic town layout that you are keeping. Parting Shots: Our dedicated emergency repairman is always ready to provide his service, no matter how small or large the task in hand maybe. And of course, after a hard day's work, he never forgets to have some leisurely fun with his gal friends who dig his cute yellow truck. Thank you for your time reading this review, I hope you enjoyed it!
  22. Just like what the other inmates have said, we all have our own strategy in this game, if you want to follow Shadowghost's investigation result, then do so, and I'll follow my own strategy. Ha, I'm tired of playing this stupid <mocking small voice> "Oh I'm an innocent Townie" nonsense, anyone who thinks he's really innocent, I dare to speak up! The obvious is already written on the wall, so it's a game of strategy and wits, mano-y-mano, let's get in on!
  23. Yeah, I hope I die so everyone will know my real affiliation and I can confidently say right now I'm no part of Drakius' gang.
  24. Vote: Shadowghost the Sturch (Shadows) I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of goofball inmates who doesn't think and always blindly follow whatever investigation results are revealed. I'm doing this strategic move in order to win this game rather than just simply survive 'til the end. I hope Drakius' fellow gang members find in themselves to do the same, knowing that someone who's not in any way related to their group is putting his name and life on the line without expecting anything in return. I may have murdered fifty fat people with my crazy addiction to exploding cheeseburgers, but I hope this sacrifice will somehow give me some sort of salvation before my soul rots in the eternal hell of the universe.
