Interesting topic, I sure have lots of Lego-related 'resolutions' that I plan to do in the coming new year. 1.) First, buy a decent camera. I think I've committed one of the gravest crimes of MOCing - not having my own camera. I've been doing all of these MOCs and presenting them here in EB just by borrowing my brother's camera. 2.) As a consequence of Resoution #1, start my student reviews in the Reviewer's Academy. I've been enrolled in RA for several months now but haven't made my first review yet. 3.) Diversify my MOCs. Majority of my MOCs have been obviously Star Wars, but I've been planning to do some non-SW MOCs which I will hopefully make this 2011. I'm planning to do my Buhay Pinoy/The Filipino Life Series intended to promote the Filipino culture in this global forum. 4.) With regards to minifig customization, minimize the use of sharpie, explore more in clay sculpting, and to finally learn and use water-slide decals in my minifig customs. Those are the ones of the top of my head right now. But generally, I'll just try to continue becoming a positive contributor in our online community.

Happy Holidays everybody! Something I did in LDD which has been my sig in the past couple of weeks (credit to the great Jebediah for the sigfig artworks): Christmas is about to end in our side of the world, I had a great time spent with the family and relatives. For a change, it was nice giving away Lego gifts to my kid nieces and nephews instead of receiving Lego gifts from others. Hope others had fun as well!

Same here. I was originally planning getting a couple of the Clone and Mando BPs, but now I just ordered one Clone BP. The only sets I'd be buying for Wave 1 is the Battle of Naboo and Battle of Geonosis, then get the V-Wing astromech, Mace's astromech, and tactical droid figs. For Wave 2, I'll only get the MF and Geonosian fighter and skip to the minifigs that I want - Savage, Vos, Eeth/Agen, Padme. Then the rest will be the parts for my planned MOCs. -

Now it's my time to ask for your opinions guys. I've recently decided not to buy the 7931 T-6 Shuttle Set and just purchased the minifigs of my interest, Shaak Ti and Saesee Tiin. I spent approx. $60 just for the two figs, against $120 if I bought the whole set (S&H inlcuded). I had a guilty feeling after making that purchase, thinking that I've just made a dumb decision. But with the current news of amazing 2nd wave sets of 2011, it seems I've made the right decision since the $60 that I've saved will be able to afford me some of the sets and/or select minifigs in the 2nd wave. I'm also planning on doing the same strategy for the 2nd wave, just buying the minifigs that I like and just passing off the sets themselves. My question is, is this buying strategy just ok? Is it a silly move purchasing the figs individually for insanely huge prices (like my $60-2 jedi example above)? Or is it still advisable to purchase the whole sets? (even if I don't really need/want them since I only want the new minifigs). (Some things to consider are I live in a remote country where Lego prices are 100% more expensive compared to the US/EU and I'm someone who has limited spending resources each year). Thanks! -
Excellent idea of a Ski Lift for the Winter Village! Nice work on the realistic ski lift chairs and lines. Even if it is not made of Lego, I'd say you did a pretty good job approximating the snowy ski mountain/hill using that white cloth. Great work twigman and good luck!

Great entry jacob! I love the use of those PoP arches and the combination of dark green, dark red, and dark tan. Pretty nice brick-built cake too! Good luck in the contest!

I based Adi and Even on their appearances on the CW series (which is the current basis of new jedi minifig releases), and Oppo in the cartoon series. Now this is becoming a minifig wishlist topic, so just to get back on topic, since almost every member of the Jedi Council have been/will be released, how about a Jedi High Council Chamber? Exclusive figs will be those three jedi I mentioned, and somehow it'll force those who want to buy this to get the other sets just for the jedi figs.

A very nice entry Stratorion, good job on the windmill and the unconventional design of the roof. But if I may suggest, deeplinking the photos in your post instead of links would help improve the overall presentation of your entry. Just a friendly advice. Good luck in the contest!

Oh my, I never knew the horses can be effectively converted into reindeer! Only experts like you Sava could've actually thought of using those droid arms for the antlers, and very clever way to 'squeeze-in' those in between the horses' ears. Great work once again!

I'm not familiar with the real Big Boss, but good job on the custom beret and face & torso prints.

Pretty good job converting the 10193 into a modular-type building mifody! Even if the external design has that distinct Medieval Market look, you were still able to incorporate some modern elements in there especially on the ground floor and the interior details. Nice work!
-
Pretty good MOC happymark! Very recognizable as a college building. But could you pls. resize your pic to 800x600 max. size? Thank you.

A lovely Christmas wedding scene NovaStar & Pinky! Quite a nice design for the mini-chapel and the horse carriage. Good luck in the contest!
-
Adi Gallia, Even Piell, and Oppo Rancisis to finally complete the prominent Jedi High Council members.
-
The tram is very well-designed, as is the station! Lovely color scheme with fine details. Great job on this Dix and good luck in the contest!

What a lovely Christmas Mass scene SavaTheAggie! The interior shot is just fantastic, with very realistic details inside the Church. Impressive job as always!

A Year with tin7 creations (2010)
XimenaPaulina replied to tin7_creations's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
You're definitely one of the best customizers here in EB tin7, and I have always been a fan of your creations since Day One. 2010 has certainly been your best year in customization, just a great overall job throughout the year! Have a Merry Christmas with your loved ones and eagerly looking forward for greater customs from you in 2011! -
Very nice entry brickzone! I like the conservative but very effective exterior design of this Holiday Inn. Th dark green wall, three-sided windows, and that wheel detail are all very well done. Good job and good luck in the contest!

I don't think they could've done Ki-Adi any other way but with that new head mold. Seriously, does anyone want a cone-on-top-of-a-regular minifig head for Ki-Adi? In this day and age of highly-accurate minifigs, it is not surprising and just appropriate that they went with the more realistic head mold. I personally like it, and I would assume most fans also. TLG giving us all of these wonderful figs is already a great service to all of us, so I'm not complaining. But I do agree with you that this will be an expensive year for SW purchases, and basing on this 2nd wave, one who has limited resources should really plan well. For me, the only set that I might be getting are the MF and the Geonosian Fighter. The rest I'll just purchase the minifigs that I'm interested with (Savage, Padme, Vos, Eeth Koth/Agen Kolar).

MOC: Something for Christmas...
XimenaPaulina replied to Bingo Little's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very nice Christmas creation Bingo Little! Great to see the lovely little scenes and the nice small details like the minifig crucifix and the flame-winged angel. good job! -
Wow, thanks for the new clearer pics r4-g9! Now I could clearly see most of the figs. So I was right, the Savage fig has realistic unprinted Zabrak horns! But why didn't they put those horns to Maul in the SI set?! BTW, Maul's speeder looks And Ki-Adi + Cody + Geonosian in a relatively small set, Vos + Eeth Koth in the frigate! I'm lovin' 2011 just for the great minifigs alone!
-
Very nice Christmas MOC Tereglith! I agree it fits perfectly with your Medieval Winter Village. Good work and Merry Christmas!
-
Excellent motion blur effect, but is it just me, but I don't see any Christmas element on this entry (?) No offense meant.

Very nice entry Ron, simple yet very effective build for this gathering scene of the Ministry of Magic. Good job too on customizing the wizards and the clever flying paper airplane effect. Best of luck in the contest!
