Thanks for the heads up Stash. I managed to grab a handful of falcons and another handful of blue coats. Due to my recent wild west addiction, I grabbed a few cavalry colonels as well. I did grab a cook and a classic spaceman, just to be complete. Ahab out..............

custom minifig designs and decals
AhabDarab replied to Toth's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Toth I just looked at your work in this thread, and I choked! You need to work for TLG! On a side note, I love your monsters theme. The "Swamp Thing" is outstanding. The whole theme is outstanding. Laboratory, Werewolf tail, monkey, and all! Wow. A+ Ahab out.................. -

General Discussion and Announcements

Is there any way we can have BrickQuest added to the lists? It's like D&D or Warhammer Quest. Ahab out.............. -
I play a game known as BrickQuest. It's gameplay is somewhere between D&D and Gauntlet/Diablo. I have adapted the rules for campaign play. Ahab out.................

It worked for me. I bought a cow farm and a pig farm with the TRU BOGO 1/2. The cow farm was at nearly 50% off to start with as well. Thanks for a great tip! Ahab out..................

AhabDarab replied to Eilif's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know this article helped me when I first came out of my dark age. All of it's information is still good. Ahab out.................. -
Well, another year and another great event. The Pirate game was outstanding, and the "BrickTech" Battletech mech game was great too. For the record, I will be running BrickQuest next year so be sure to bring your favorite dice. See you all next year. Ahab out...............

I think the exact opposite lightningtiger. I think the name "Kingdoms" was chosen to allow diversity. IE, Lion Knight Kingdom, Black Falcon Kingdom, Dragon Knight kingdom, Troll Kingdom, Crown Knight Kingdom, Dwarf Kingdom I myself like variety. Ahab out.........................

D2C Designers requesting feedback for 2012 models
AhabDarab replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1. No 2. Individual 3. The temple at Karnak 4. Medieval Market and/or Castle in Minifig scale. Perhaps hosting a joust/tournament/tilt. 5. I loved the castle fantasy theme. The Dwarven Mine is the set that returned myself and my family to lego. I loved it and so did my wife! I have spent thousands of dollars on Lego since then. I also would like to see a new Wild West town. Similar to the Medieval Market or larger. I am guessing that a zoo set/theme may already be in the works. If not perhaps this is where to do it. I'd love to see another fantasy race. I've wanted fantasy since 1980. The run that finished just wasn't enough. I do admit that the green wizard (and eventualy blue wizard) in the current line are fantasy. I imagine the green wizard's pet dragon is fantasy as well. Either way, I'd eventualy like to see another fantasy faction. I really don't care which fantasy race, I'll by it. Centaurs, werwolves, lizard men, or anything! Ahab out........................

About 5 months after the Black Friday Walmart King's Castle Seige $50 (MSRP $100) sale I went into the WalMart near a friends house. I had been in there before with no luck. This time I went in and the had 4 King's Castle Seige sets for $35 each. I have had a few others, but that was my personal best. Ahab out..................

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
AhabDarab replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This is bad. I won't go into detail, but putting a "tell" on a "blind" purchase is a very bad idea. This will end ugly. Lego made a big mistake. Ahab out................................ -
I would have ordered the set. If they ever start making these again, please post it. Thanks Ahab out.................

Great MOC. It honestly needed no introduction. great job! Honestly, this movie gets better every time I see it. (the one from the 80's) "Flash, Flash, I love you. But we only have 14 hours to save the earth!" Bumm..Bumm..Bumm..Bumm.......Bumm..Bumm..Bumm..Bumm.......Bumm..Bumm..Bumm..Bumm ........Bumm..Bumm..Bumm..Bumm......... (song's stuck in my head now) BTW, loved your Lone Ranger MOC as well. Keep up the great work. Ahab out........................

If I had to guess, I'd say that they look like they were played with in either a bathtub for an extended period of time (soap scum) or in a chlorinated pool(ouch). I wouldn't be surprised if it was soap scum. The fats in soap can bond to the plastic very firmly. Think of a plastic bowl that has a stain or an odor. It can be removed, but I wouldn't be able to give advice do it with Lego. I do wish you the best of luck though. Ahab out............................

What made you get out of your LEGO dark age?
AhabDarab replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have actually had two seperate dark ages. I was brought out of my first dark age while in college in the 80's. I saw the forestmen sets and the Black Falcon's Fortress at a toy shop and I bought them. I bought many of the army builder sets and made Warhammer armies from the minifigs. Moving forward, all of that lego was lost at a garage sale in the early 90's. More recently, I was walking down the aisle at Target a year or two ago and saw the Dwarven Mine. This set brough me back again. I am using the figures in a game called Brick Quest (it's similar to D&D). In a different direction, I've been buying ships for Evil Stevie's Pirate Game as well. Ahab out......................... -
I have been thinking of using the Prince of Persia ostriches for my troll cavalry. I was hoping Brickforge might make warboars, but I'm thinking they won't. Ahab out.................

Well, remember that Evil Stevie is actually Steve Jackson. He owns Steve Jackson games. Remember the games that pay the bills are the ones that need attention, and Evil Stevie's Pirates is free. As for him running a day of his pirate game, I usually see him do it a few times a year at the major game conventions (Dragon con, Origins, GenCon). I say use patience and keep your eyes open. If it's posted that he (or anyone using his rules) is running a game, I'll let you know in this forum. Having seen his game run many times, I have to say it rocks! Ahab out.......................
