  1. Great layout. You have done an excellent job of producing an eclectic mix of buildings, vehicles and scenes within the layout that provide for that diversity that you need to make a big display look real. As was said above I like the raisers as well. That is an idea I have been contemplating with the large display I have been working on. I think what people don't realize who haven't attempted a large design such as this is that the real hard part isn't the buildings and the vehicles it is in creating the space and setting in which they all occupy. I have spent a tremendous amount of time thinking about how I will attempt to address that issue as I progress. You have provided my with a lot of good reference material here.
  2. I am not familar with this group specifically. I've seen it and know of its existance but that is all. I hope the Mod's will leave this topic open because I don't interprit to be about religon at all but rather how ones non-lego interests play out within the AFOL community. I like EU ban on topics of religon and politics. I think there are plenty of other places we can all go to have those conversations. My personal view is that when you come to an AFOL site your primary interest while at that site ought to be Lego...Lego then Starwars...Lego then Pirates...then music or god or whatever else the rules of the site allow. Those may not be how you order your real life priorities but when you come here you are choosing to make Lego the primary priority. That said I don't have a problem with people choosing to form there own MOC Pages group where they want to express their religous beliefs through Lego. I think it is a shame if they are insulting others but with a topic like religon offending others is an easy thing to do intentionally or unitentionally but I would think if their group clearly defines what they are about and represent and you disagree then you ought to stay away from their group. If their groups purpose is to express their specific beliefs through Lego and you don't subscribe to those beliefs then stay away but to be offended is like saying "I don't believe in religion and then going to church and saying it offends you. These specialized groups may not promote unity within the AFOL community all the time but that isn't their intended specific purpose.
  3. I'll get my first draft out to Super and Green Hair today. oh and its not a contest whci implies fabulous prizes...It will be the First Annual Redcoats vs Bluecoats Tournament of .....
  4. Welcome to Classic-Pirates. You have a wonderful series of buildings. I'd have to say the crows nest structure and the tavern are my two favorites. I can't wait to see your island come together. I would love to see your building dressed up with people and action. Do they have interiors?
  5. When I post my MOC's there are no restrictions on posting, people can be as funny as they want about spinning tales about what is really happening in the MOC for them. My favorite part about looking at someone elses MOC is the story that is instantly created in my mind when I see something for the first time. I like when people share those stories and they feed off one another. IMO each MOC is an opportunity for an imagination game. Don't get me wrong I love it when people take the time to post about one of my MOC's. I wish more people would post about MOC's but it does get a little boring when all the posts are basically different ways of saying cool...good job. It means more to me as a builder to have what I have built entertain people be involking funny, lively discussions. It basically respresents playing together with the MOC. Remember when you built things with your friends and then you'd play with it which was really an ongoing arguement about what everything was, how strong your favorite guy was compared to their favorite guy and you'd negotiate back and forth until you ran out of ideas to move the story forward so you knocked it down and built something else which the idea usually came from the last play session. I know others feel differently and that is OK with me. We have exchanged our views and have differing perspectives. People come here for different reasons. Some want to be the most popular, some the most helpful, some the best builders, some the most inonimous, whatever...I am here for inspiration and to have the most fun! My 2 cents....again so I guess that's 4 cents.
  6. It looks a little like an igloo. Is it supposed to?
  7. oh. for sure. I didn't realize you've seen pictures of the Capstan but that sound appropriate for the upstairs venue. I forgot to mention that a small memorial cerimony for the Bluecoats will be held at St. Elizabeth Parish Church in the Port of Brick Royal.
  8. I love it. A wise guy gathering place. It looks like the classic representation!
  9. Excellent. You have obviously been in a building mood. Keep them coming you have a talent for these for sure!
  10. Excellent...I'll host the victory party at the Capstan Inn!
  11. My thoughts exactely. I'll put something in writing (that even a Bluecoat could understand) and PM you two with a draft. When it comes to rules the more eyes the better. When is everyone getting back from their vacations? We should probably wait to get going until more people are around...It has been very quiet...people aren't even getting yeld at for bumping old topics.
  12. I stand by that as a fact not subject to debate! Let's give it a go. I'll start a topic and we can see who want to join in.
  13. I didn't see the problem myself but whatever...If we get more Red vs. Blue moc's out of you then it will be all worth it. It gave me an idea for a contest. Teams of two redcoat supporters vs two bluecoats. You post small vigs back and forth that play off one another (at least one a day from each teammember for 3 - 5 days or something) so you end up with a spy vs. spy comic strip type thing. People vote on the winner and that team advances. Bricklink orders are good. I got one yesterday I need to finish my latest build.
  14. I kept getting an error when I clicked the link? Good job on the stop motion. Have you done a lot of that or are you just starting out? My only suggestion is that you could have added more sound effects and dialog.
  15. That is great. It always impresses me when people build things that have moving parts. It looks and functions great. You need to take it over to one of those apoc moc's and waste some zombies with it!
  16. It looks great. It fits the scale of the scene nicely. It does have that euro feel in design and size. Still looks to small to be a North American rig.
  17. No way! You get them their own...then you steal parts from their collection when you need to...but you don't feel good about it...then you go out and buy them a new set or bucket...then you steal more parts. It's a circle of life thing
  18. Dito...except plus two kids...(who love Lego..but not nearly as much as I do)
  19. It did not seem as broad as the last one.
  20. Great looking minifigures. The volly gun is great but comical. My only problem is you have to mix up your heads a little. It looks like an 18th century clone army.
  21. Hey Martin - Welcome back! It has been kind of quiet around here without you and a lot of other frequent contributors are/have been on vacation as well. Yes we got thumped for being too Red vs. Blue. You can see the evolution of the conversation here so I won't repete what's been written...besides you're a Bluecoat so I know you can't read
  22. Welcome to Eurobricks. I look forward to seeing some of your creations.
  23. That's very cool.
  24. Great movie. There was so much great movement. Very funny.
  25. Beautiful street. The buildings are very nice to look at with a great classic design. Good colors also. I like the way you MOC'd it up. The action in and around the buildings seems very lively and real. The clothing store was my favorite.
