Great story. I think many of us have experienced what you described at some point. I am much older than you. I have a wife, two daughters, a house, two college degrees and my dream job running a City...and I buy all the Lego's I can get my hands on...Its pretty simple...spend your free time and your disposable income on the things you enjoy!

I think the best part is if your mount is killed underneath you in battle you know your going to have a tastey meal that night!

You know you are a fan of Lego when...

...you find miscellaneous spare parts in your underwear drawer. -
Thanks Zorro - I was able to send him the PM this morning. We now have 2 bluecoat (erined5 & Lord Falkner) and 2 redcoat players (jansued & Col. Long) on the wait list. One more player for each side and we'll expand the existing teams to five members...two more players for each side and we'll add two new teams. We are getting down to the wire so hurry and sign up!!!!

Awesome! I love Toy Story so I'll have to pick up some of those sets even though the parts don't really fit in with my normal building styles. I am most excited about POP. Those figures and animals are exceptional and go a long way toward increasing the minifigure world's diversification! All these new molds represent a siginificant investment my Lego and whether they end up in this theme and/or spread to other themes or future new themes the fact that they now exist means we will likely see them in various sets for some time I hope!

The Evolution Of Hrothingas castle Stage 5
Commodore Hornbricker replied to DNL's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
What a great building project! All the stages are very expertly contructed. You obviously put in a lot of time and effort and it really has shown with the results and how everyone has felt about this project! Once again great job! -
Teddy - That is truely an amazing Library. Your attention to detail is fantastic. It is a creation very much worthy of being in your very beautiful town! How did you do that second story center window?

Thanks Zorro! Right now we still have the three teams listed above plus three members on the wait list: jansued - red Col. Long - red Erined5 - blue if we get one more red and two more blues we'll just make the existing teams 5 members. two more reds and 3 more blues and we'll add two more teams. I think we should cut off signups at midday tomorrow at the latest or if we get 2 more reds and three more blues that will automatically end signups. Zorro - The only member I have not been able to PM is ~MaYo~

It looks like we actually have enough to add a third team of 4 for each side with one extra redcoat on a wait list. Redcoat Team 3 nintha (captain) MaYo LittleBuilder Tinn-man jansued is on the wait list but a lot of these folks are new so someone might drop out. Bluecoat Team 3 - Not sure on team captain Black Rabbit Dwarfinator TeddiGramz Samthelegoman1 New players please make sure to read the rules at the beginning of this thread. I think some of these new players do not have enough posts yet to use PM...Can that be turned on for them?

A great redcoat army! The scots are my absolute favorite! -
For the winning team it is just for glory. After the Tournament is completely concluded however, we will set up a poll that all members can vote on for a MVP on each side (one Bluecoat and one redcoat player) who they think did the best job representing their side. Both MVP's will get a Soldiers Fort set donated by yours truely.

The rules state that the moderator will start a new thread for each match. In round 1 we will have two matches at the same time - so two different threads (which teams face one another determined by Zorro). Zorro will let the team captains know by Friday which team posts first begining Monday. So if its your team then someone from your team has to post on Monday and then someone from your opposition team has to post by Tuesday and it goes back and forth until each team member has posted twice. I envisioned this all going in the same thread with people being able to post comments after each submission until the next one comes out, etc. Does that make sense? I think once the Moderator has matched the teams and determined which two teams go first he could issue a schedule for each teams posting day. Yes once the Moderator ends the competition (after each member submitted two entries) the judges should PM the Moderator (Zorro) with their vote for winning team. I think the rules give the judges a couple days. Then the moderator will declare a victor and then if we need a second round for the tournament the Moderator sets that up and we start it up again (if one redcoat team and one bluecoat team win in round 1 we have a final round).

I think we have everything we need now in place! We have two Bluecoat Teams and two Redcoat Teams each with 4 members. Zorro will be the Tournament Moderator. We have 7 judges! We can still possibly add to the teams until Friday (wait list) but we will need 2 more members for each side before we can add anyone else to keep the teams even. So unless we get two more Redcoats and two more bluecoats the teams will remain as is. The team captains need to first submit their team names (according to the rules) to Zorro ASAP. Once he has those he will randomly select which teams will face eachother in the first round. Since we have four teams there will be two competitions going at the same time in round one. Zorro will also determine which two teams will be responsible for posting their submission first. The competion will begin Monday, July 27 and the 24 hour clock starts when the first post is made in each of the two matches. Readcoat Team 1 Commodore Hornbricker (captain) Hound Knight Lego_warlord_8 Admiral M Redcoat Team 2 Sir Wellington (captain) Joey Lock Lt. Col. Thok Paul Cantu Bluecoat Team 1 Captain Green Hair (captain) Ynykly Admiral Bejaune Dr. Steve Bluecoat Team 2 Stash2sixx (captain) Martinsuper General Armendariz Frontbeast Judges: L-Space Emperor Claudius Rome Thrash Adam Zepher Dragonater Sir Gecko With that I turn control of the contest over to our Tournament Moderator Zorro!

Redcoat vs Blue Tournament Vacant Positions
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in LEGO Pirates
Awsome. Thank you all. We now have all 5 judges we need (including L-Space that volunteered previously. Take a look at this thread, if you haven't already, which will explain the rules and the role of the judges. Red vs. Blue Tournament We are looking to start next week. We just need a Tournament Moderator and 1 more player for the Bluecoat side. Thanks again! -
I love this too. It looked so good underwater. Shipwrecks are very cool indeed. The jelly fish are probably my favorite!

Redcoat vs Blue Tournament Vacant Positions
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in LEGO Pirates
Excellent! So we just need one more judge and a moderator and we are good to go. -
We are four judges short for our game. We just need 4 people who don't have a redcoats or bluecoat bias to serve as tournament judges (its very easy) and someone who is a site moderator type person to serve as our tournament moderator (also very easy). You can PM me or respond to this thread with your willingness to help or any questions. Thanks
