Anyone who hates Bionicle at first sight...
JINZONINGEN73 replied to Zarkan's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Yeah, bigger isn't always better (that's not a Cajun moc, btw. It's more of an homage to his style by someone else). Don't get suckered in by size. Granted, some skill is needed in creating large objects and stabilizing them... but the design is kind of all over & I doubt it's able to be dynamically posed. I made a giant moc once, but I never went back to that type. Not yet anyway. If it can't truly be posed, it's just a statue. And if it's just a statue, it had better be perfect in every way, as all excuses in regards to a "function" are removed. It's not a terrible moc, but it's clearly a first attempt at such a thing. -

Yep. Don Murphy's repeatedly said "the old Transformers are silly and don't work in the real world". So, they gave them all collapsing drinking cup properties. Really, I think Optimus looks ok, but for the most part, noone looks like anyone anywhere with the rest of the characters. If I'd never seen G1, I wouldn't give a crap. It'd be another crappy, badly written American movie that I wouldn't pay money to see, but with a cool looking action figure line . It's just a double whammy that I DID watch G1 and they called this Transformers. That the producers DID try to dupe fans into believing the feedback they asked for 2 years ago would go somewhere. It's Short Circuit 3. -

Unfortunately, he starts off on earth, frozen in a block of ice... being pecked at by our scientists for 100 years... where they learned compact disc and other technologies from playing with his sleeping body. Which of these look better on me? I feel like going with this: X D But I also think this one goes good with my shirt: V__V ::flips a coin:: Crap. Landed on it's side. -
Yah, you can't deny that they're bootlegs of Lego, but it also can't be denied they really worked on making it as similar yet decently unique as possible. And hell... they actually made the chick's armor a different sex, something SORELY lacking from the 2001 Toa, Toa Nuva, Toa Metru, Toa Inika, Matoran, etc etc... The armor OWNS too. More serious looking.

All other new 2007 sets (including new theme)

All I can say is, there better some doozy of an amazing reality behind the secret curtain, after this hyped suspense. -

JINZONINGEN73 replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah, this is what I mean. It's not a move by Lego that makes anyone "happy". The ones in the know feel good 1.5 seconds after knowing something everyone else doesn't... but that soon degenerates into a chore, complete with being ridiculed for not coughing anything up to your "friends". :-D The ones not in the know feel burned, and get violently antsy knowing something's around the corner, others know it, and they don't know WHEN they'll know. :-D :-D TELL me this isn't a strategy to find out who can be trusted and who can't. It's so obvious. I refuse to take this at face value and believe it's a simple action of good faith to fans. TELL me this isn't a strategy to find out what sites can be trusted and which can't. :-D :-D :-D And if it somehow isn't... what on earth are they thinking? X D -

It's still not growing on me. Thanks due in part to this interview with Shia LaBeouf, AKA "Sam" Whitwicky. His answers confirm what I've been trying to say... the awful script that was widely released IS pretty much it's final draft. (Lots of spoilers): http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=24383 I'll come of YOUR age! Get this crap away from me! -
What was the last movie you watched?
JINZONINGEN73 replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Didn't get the whole movie X-D Well, the little dark world was (somehow?) created by the little girl wanting satisfaction for the atrocities against her. And she got it. Only... the nightmare world was still there, with the chick and her daughter stuck in it? Bleh. Sounds like a cheap cliffhanger for sequels. And what'd those people eat that whole time? I saw no gardens. Ugh.. lol. It's like the movie makers weren't even trying. -
Back in 2004, a site was found that had a bunch of airbrushed photos showing future products... all ripoffs of existing Lego sets (and not just Bionicle). http://www.blocko.com.cn/chanpin/zhongjizh...ngjizhanshi.asp It's taken 2 years, but a seller on eBay has 7 of these sets in hand. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZmyegulf As you can probably surmise, the plastic quality looks cheap, cheap, CHEAP. But still, the sculpting job on "Sea Star" blows away Lego's original design. There's a bunch of Metru Nui ripoffs that were available on their original listings which have yet to be seen: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=154688 The seller has wacky set numbers and names listed for some of the items, so going by the original website, I created this, as they should be the correct ones: Being a Transformers fan, I've come to appreciate knock offs sometimes as much as original products. :-P

another name for makuta
JINZONINGEN73 replied to Clone comander Nodra 999's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Yeah, but hearing the name again made me giggle once more. lol I picture some Amazon website updater on the phone with a Lego rep, trying to scrawl off 12 set names on a piece of tissue while his pen's running out of ink. Doom... Dume... D... oh hell. Ultimate Dumerator. :-D Closing. -
Yeah, since 2001 actually. A return to the old flash animation stories. Just another point making 2006 the best year of Bionicle. Lego... you have been listening, haven't you? HAVEN'T YOU? :-D Very well done, I'm likin' it. That's how Bionicle started off, and it was good. Then Lego went crazy and started giving them voices and junk. But it seems they've gotten a lot smarter recently.

Review: 8675 Racers - Outdoor Challenger
JINZONINGEN73 replied to KimT's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh. OH. OH, I see! Wow. A whole different Lego format. X-O Missed that completely! Bah, I'd still make'em work for the things I want'em for. If it's got holes, improvisation is possible. X-D -

I'm a sucker for black and lime Lego creations, so I've been waiting for a review of this. Oh, the things I want to make with those panels. Is the battery specifically a Lego-ONLY configuration or is there a common equivalent sold by other manufacturers? -
Acht! Missed my own Birthday topic! X D Booty list: (2) Lego #6205 V-Wing Fighters (1) Transformers Titanium "Ark" Autobot Spaceship (1) Lego #8665 Highway Enforcer ...and a simmering incense oil burner... whole house smells like "pumpkin spice" instead of "pet a$$". Thanks all. Closing. :-P

LOL... because Don is freaking insane and had to start name-calling, they deleted the "Ask Don" topic and closed access to his account. BUT they decided to let him post again. http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic...f8f4b5ba8582a85 Then they closed this, where he was last: http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic...f8f4b5ba8582a85 -

Pictorial review: old style Lego boxes (Airtech 8868)
JINZONINGEN73 replied to gylman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
No no no. The same amount of bricks will still be there. There just won't be 80 zillion plastic tray inserts glutting up landfills, where I truly do think most of those will go immediately after purchase. As for smaller packages, I agree. It used to be that shipping was priced on the weight of objects. These days it's more priced on the size of the individual units, at least in North America. Perhaps the extra units sold ("oooh, big box!") make up the smaller difference that they lose on that shipping? -

http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic...e15110bf179ce68 At around page 8 or 9, Don signed up on the forum. Apparently, some small-time blogger gave his opnion of the movie. Don, dick he is, blasted him for it. The blogger goes to seibertron with the topic "I guess Don doesn't like me". Don signs up to (kind of?) run damage control. It turns into a whole big thing & finally the owner of seibertron blasts Don for going to his board to troll like he does on his own site. Seibertron's mods, despite seibertron's owner's feelings, jump in & keep the peace. And it seems to have worked, as there's now an "Ask Don questions" thread, in which he is participating in. -
