::nods:: For now, one just has to wing it. But that might actually be better than if there were flush parts. You could even "lock" the nose of the canopy underneath a wedged area, and create a sliding mechanism to pull the canopy backwards or forwards to free the pilot. Hmm... I think I might play with that idea today... lol.

Halloween 06: What has scared you the most

http://www.geocities.com/orlockbj/OuijaEtiquette.html See. #6. Very important. If you left a door open to say, an apartment complex you owned, you might not be interesting enough for an intruder to pay attention to... but you can bet that if they're intruding, they'll inevitably find someone they DO want to devote attention and energy to. I'll take it a bit further with this conversation from earlier this year. The person answering in the guy's topic is me. The "guy" has a thing in his house much like Sne's, and him and those close to him have all seen it... but more importantly, ALL have devoted alot of attention to it: This was followed by people saying "Get a priest" and such. : / My response: A few other posts later... Oooooooooh no you're not. You're talking to things which you have NO proof of intention. You're talking to things that can be telling the truth for a month, followed by being replaced with a slimy imposter the next moment, even in mid-communication. You could be talking to professional manipulators, angling you in a direction they wish you to go. You're talking to strangers AND taking their candy AND getting into their van. I'll bite... what kind of "useful" info have you gotten so far? I understand it can be pretty personal in nature, but megablocks... you can talk to an invisible entity but not us? X D I think you already know what I'm saying here. Your post count is high enough that you've surely heard this all before. So things are going good and chaotic events have slowed to a crawl. Cool, sounds cozy. Now stop. Cold turkey. Two months. Let's see if the new peace remains once you and your mother stop acknowledging it. If the smell you described wasn't that of a strange airflow underneath your house combined with a dead animal nearby, then you have something powerful messing with you. And no offense, but possibly of a higher intelligence, especially at deception & lying. Don't be a sucker. I might sound harsh, but when you're talking an event with sulphuric stench, there's not room to be a pussy about things and beat around the bush. You too need to start thinking in this no-nonsense way as well. Bonus points if you can get your mom and anyone else involved into this mindset with you. If I recall right, the dude was trying to contact a newly-dead relative... and believes one of the things in there to be them. Not good. The emotions are too high. -
Y'know... I'm pretty sure that if this Flying Dutchman ship came out and was made of all-glow in the dark bricks... I'd orgasm. Right there. Instantly.

You're doing that in Windows Media Player? You have to change a setting to be able to take screenies. But, I'll wait for you to say what player it is before I go hunting down the configuration. X-D

So it's pretty much agreed that the new redesigns are crap to both "geewhunners" and non, correct? A multiverse spinoff is fine... it just seems kinda' annoying to see it done to such a degree by a multi-million $ Hollywood project. Those silly, nearly-annual japanese cartoons with no bearing on G1, fine. But it's not wrong to have hoped this would've been something more. And the script... yikes. Agreed. Very inefficient. Totally. If they have the energy to open rifts whereby mass is exchanged... then it doesn't sound like they're really "Energon-starved" as was the alleged case all through G1. The "new" design was jumbled crap. Look at a Lego moc by Eric Sophie... it's like a kid just kept slapping bricks on until they ran out of that particular color, with no real "final" image in mind. So, Megatron's noggin (which has had some mighty drastic re-interpretations unlike G1 over the years) might be "boring"... but it's certainly not garbage. It has character. The guy... who made the movie... happen? Beast Wars was in line, and even featured, G1 guys. And though it started off as yet another multiverse, it managed to meld the old and the new together... and well. Hardly. Most G1 fans like the new Optimus. And the Autobots, for the most part. But it's kind of disproportional to see him looking pretty Optimusey while the others are running around looking like... whatever they're supposed to look like. They TRIED to add Soundwave in, but the design team wasn't skilled enough to do something that simple... so they went and renamed him as someone else. (lol) Heck, if Starscream's gone from a sleek jet into a bundle of duct tape with metal sticking out of it... you might also not want to be calling it Starscream. Ah, but they do... likely with G1 fans in mind. But wait, this isn't supposed to be a G1 movie, right? Whoopsie! Sounds like they don't know WHAT their product's supposed to be, doesn't it? -
Halloween 06: What has scared you the most

I never sat there and consciously decided to do anything like that, but it has happened to me a few times, and in physically verifiable ways. In that text document I posted earlier, my cousin and I sometimes shift, seeing what the other sees. We've run around inside IDENTICAL dreams at least twice, meeting each other (briefly) inside. Due to her illness(es), "health" is something that can turn on a dime. One night while working in "the vault" I was nearing the end of my shift when all of a sudden I got panicky... I was walking around confused and was scared the people on the floor below (floors were made of metal grating) would see me. So, I ducked down into an aisle of data tapes and scrunched down on the floor holding myself. I was rocking slightly and felt really sad, to the point tears started forming. After a few seconds I said to myself, "Why is this happening to me? What did this? I'm about to die, right here, right now!" Then I stopped a second, thought about it, and much as the way I've taught myself to identify and exit dreams, so too did I realize "Waaaaaait a minute... I'm healthy... this isn't me." At that point, my vision went white, and I exited through the ground, through the roof of the building (seeing coworkers on another floor as I passed them) and into the sunlight, speeding across the farmland between my workplace and the direction my cousin's house was in. So, I compose myself, get happy that I'm ok, but then am worried wondering who it had been. (My mom had a similar experience when my dad's mother died... 5 states away). I get home, and call my cousin just to shoot the breeze about what happened. Before I said anything, she informed me she'd just had a super migraine attack, and had thought for sure she was dying. The time between what I saw and felt coincided with the time she also was crumpled up on her livingroom floor. Neat, but not a conscience decision by me. Nor was this old story: Sometime in the mid-90's: Anyway: I'll get to you later. :-D -
And that set specifically gives a liberal helping of them. Snag as many as you can, if you want to make a kicking orange moc at some point in the future. X-D Funny thing too about that car... I bought it thinking it was yellow... seems all the packages of it I ever came across were defectively printed... or maybe it had been initially yellow, and they didn't modify the image enough to reflect orange.

Transformers Movie information revealed

An amazing thing is, on Transformer sites, the admins and mods are like "DON'T bash Don Murphy! Leave your anger and past experiences and critiques of his past (crappy) movies at the door!" ...but unfortunately DON doesn't do that. You can leave past experiences with Don at the door, but he acts like this on a daily basis. Here, he had good news to deliver to the fans, but instead is STILL taking sarcastic pot-shots at people. I swear, he's not "cool with an edgy attitude", he's just a real jerkweed. -

http://seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=8657]http://seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=8657 BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! A big middle finger to all the people on other sites that said bitching would get the G1 fans nowhere! I freaking LOVE it. X D In a nutshell, after he'd pissed all over the fans he was talking to, as well as starting crap with the owner of seibertron, I'm guessing someone higher up than him came swooping in, to make him do something to keep the peace and bring back some of the disenfranchised fans. -
Halloween 06: What should Halloween be?
JINZONINGEN73 replied to Zane's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have something sad to report. Halloween is DYING in America. It started with the news media LYING about the rampant "danger" of trick or treating, much as they condemn fireworks every July 4th. Only, instead of going, "This is a FIRECRACKER in a CHILD'S HAND!" followed by the detonation of a watermelon by what only could have been a quarter-stick of dynamite, they do report after report of "tainted candy" alerts . "This is what your CHILD MIGHT GET!... Razorblades in their candy apples! Poison injected into the center of chocolate bars! LSD lacing the wrappers!" And that's pretty damn ****ing annoying, because this foolishness led to: School / church / community-run Halloween parties, but proudly stated as an ALTERNATIVE to trick or treating. So great, kids go out, but people just look at them stupid and go "Oh... they're doing it this year?". Individual communities changing the date of Halloween! This one is obvious... kids show up, now met with, "Oh... I thought they were doing this on a different day". Further complicating the matter is that Prankster's Night, which, depending on what community you live in, either falls on the day before or after trick or treating, now leads to not only nobody knowing exactly when to celebrate THAT, but the inevitable collision between innocent kids in masks, and vandalizing bullies who have some easy targets to mug. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil's_Night Religious wackos. Much as now "Merry Christmas" has been turned largely into "Happy Holidays" (you know, so as not to offend anyone of a different faith >__< ), Halloween has suffered somewhat due to trickle-down sentiments. Pagan origins and all. Oh, there's other reasons, but those are the big four. It's sad... the past 10 years have SUCKED as far as Halloween goes. I live in a town, more like a small city. I'm lucky if I find 1 jack-o-lantern every 4 blocks... much more if they're actually the hand-carved types and not plastic. To me, this holiday is: Prankster's Night on the 30th... older kids soaping up people's windows, throwing rotten eggs they've been saving a few weeks at the houses of those they don't like, and using rolls of toilet paper to drape the branches of trees and make 1-time use ribbons across hardly-traveled roads. Kids trick or treating... on the 31st. People hanging stereo speakers out their window with hair-raising sound effects bellowing forth. People using alot of creative lighting to show kids that their house is giving out candy, but simultaneously giving it a look that only scary freak shut-ins live there. Only SUPER-young kids requiring chaperoned school parties. People should have bought pumpkins a week or few days prior to the 31st and already have them carved into scary faces out on their porch. There should be decorations, such as store-bought skeletons popping their limbs out through people's front yards, and old clothes stuffed to make dummies, preferably hung around the neck from trees or with some other "cause of death" readily apparent. And no night of this is complete without seeing at least 1 candy-giver dressed up themselves, as well as a village idiot dressing up in black or some other scary costume, and running & jumping out at kids in the dark. Problem with that last one though is that not only do communities now say what DAY you can trick or treat, but what TIMES you can do it from! Dammit, Halloween is all about night time! It's about being in the dark! And what pisses me off... that's what Halloween was, as little as 20 years ago. If you're in America, and you just read what I wrote, and there's NOT a hand-carved pumpkin on your porch between now and next weekend... I probably don't like you. -
Hmm. Sne's constant pod creations have inspired me. Not for ships, but... *sweet*
-
I love that orange car in there. Bought a TON of them on discount. 1 or 2 of the yellow, too. What's with the track layout in the corner? Is it just artwork, or is there a track set they run on?

Yeah, some make sense, to avoid damage, trapped Technic axles or lack of structural integrity. But if it doesn't fall under those categories, bite me? lol

Halloween 06: Scariest Movie
JINZONINGEN73 replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lies, LIES, LIES! Lol. It'd be illegal snuff paraphenalia if that were actually the case. Wife knows a horror freak who paid like 2 or 300 some dollars to aquire a bootleg copy of the original from some guy overseas. If I ever get a copy of it, well, I'll probably vomit once or twice... then write a detailed, undeniable and "you can shut up now" report on it to squelch all the online nay-sayers. -
Hmm. This infection has spread to my other favorite toy line.

Is there a point where there's TOO much 9V track?
JINZONINGEN73 replied to JINZONINGEN73's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yeah, none of my tracks are rusted... a speck of mild oxidization, but so faint it's almost hard to notice. I'm guessing when adding regulators, one must place them at different points, instead of all bunched up at one terminal. (Then again, who's going to bother? lol) -
Halloween 06: Scariest Movie
JINZONINGEN73 replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes, yes it is. X D I agree that new horror movies are cheesy. I mean, to say ROmero was clever at delivering a scene which he hadn't had the money to film... well, it's likely how the scene SHOULD be... because it's realistic. You have a movie being given to the audience through the comatose Barbara chick more or less, so to cut to too many external scenes away from her would kind of sucked. All these modern movies have like ZERO ability to drag a viewer in through one person... like a bunch of freakin' mini-movies all bumping into each other which never combine into a great whole. There are scenes here nd there that are ok, but modern horror? Pure crap. Grudge was ok, but not spectacular... not to someone who used to watch Fujisankei horror shows on The International Channel anyway. I have to admit though... this one scene in one of the recent zombie movies (Dawn of the Dead remake)... where the gun store owner is communicating with the people on the roof of the other building... His last message = AWESOME. MAybe one of my favorite movie moments ever. So powerful. I was like oh no... oh no way... no, he's not gonna'.... OH MY GOD, HE DID! X D Seen around 2:35 http://youtube.com/watch?v=As3DheR6L3Q Nah, it won't be on the DVD lol. Ruggero's tried to convinve the law that a still snapshot of a piranha scene was all that was taken. No, no... there was a dude being eaten alive in the original. And if you saw it in (you're in Paris, right?), then you didn't see the one aired (very briefly) in New York. But again, if you tell horror film buffs this, they'll MASSACRE you with flames to say you're either lying or confused. :-D -
Halloween 06: What do You Enjoy More?
JINZONINGEN73 replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, scifi. Though jipay's "investigation" got me thinking. Not mysteries, but investigative documentaries. But unfortunately for those, they're often conducted by fanatics with agendas, and NO conscience in regards to lying to the public. -
Some of you bigger train fans might know. I'm going to be hitting a large sum of money soon, and I'm goin' to be buyin' me some bigtime 9V track. But is there any drastic loss of power when doing MASSIVE layouts? If so, is the remedy as simple as adding a second (or more) power regulator next to the first?

Halloween 06: Halloweenify your Lego figures
JINZONINGEN73 replied to Zane's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If you only knew how much seeing these things BUG me. They're awesome as all sin... but man... why isn't Lego doing this? I know there's safety concerns, kids swallowing batteries, acid leakage, but geez... There's gotta' be a way... like having plates connected to 9V sources, where the only "guts" in the minifig is wiring and lights. Make one leg stationary with metal nibs in the bottom to get power from the plates... anything. : / Oh well, until Lego gets smart, this stuff kicks major buttcheek. -
For real... they NEVER even had shelf tags at the place that sells Lego in this town. It's not like they came in and were sold... they never arrived! If not for one of the Lego catalogs in the mail, I wouldn't even have known they'd been made. And that's sad, because there were times I bought other, non-Lego toys but really wanted the mermaid set I'd seen.

Sandy's Treedome is that big domed glass bubble of hers. I wonder how large the trans pieces used will be... and I hope they don't cheap out and just have the playset open, like with no walls.
