Thanks for sharing your journey with us Rufus. Makes me nostalgic indeed. Now I just need to fly back to Australia, get to my Mum's place and get my old Classic Lego and see what I still have...... Ah Classic Space I love you still.

"The Dark Ages" - How long were you away from Lego?
The Black Falcon replied to Duck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was a Lego loving kid until like others I was 14 (1987) and then I was drawn away by books and roleplaying games also computer games. I had almost every Castle set you could own in the 80s (luckily still do, although on the other side if the planet :/). It was only when my father died and I needed to find a 'happy place' I pulled out my old Lego. This was 18 years later in 2005. Then I was back in for a while. Then I moved overseas in 2009 and left my Lego back in Australia. :( So I started from scratch collecting Castle and Star Wars plus Brickmania WW2 vehicles in Sweden from 2010 until now. -
I feel after Echo's post I should add a bit more to my earlier post. Apart from my negative comments I still think it has great playability and is excellent for kids. That I assumed went without saying. I should have added that. I suppose I expected a different layout than the last castle 7946

It seem to me a lot like the kingdoms castle 7946 set (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7946-1), which I own. Can't say it is a huge advancement. The colour scheme blue instead of red. The throne room is still exposed. However it does have the room above it that could be converted to a enclosed throne room. A bonus is that the prison is bigger and the catapult has more kick. As for the Dragons catapult, it looks nice but I prefer the simplicity of the catapult in 7948 (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7948-1). I am a fan of the Dragon torsos but that is about it. So I will be skipping this set. Too many horrible lions.

I would have put the padlock artwork on the chain not the door handle as the chain is what is actually locking it, a small thing however. Overall it is a nice set, (except for the Lion shield), the Dragon minifig looks like a nasty fellow. ;)

I second that.

I own it. It is my chosen Lord Of The Rings set. Love it. -
Kickstarter Project - Brickmania Tank Links.
The Black Falcon replied to The Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think it is an excellent idea to support folks who are filling a gap in LEGO's range (i.e. Military which I know they don't do). I look forward to modding my existing tanks when the links come out. -
Kickstarter Project - Brickmania Tank Links.
The Black Falcon posted a topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hi All, Have people been checking out Brickmania's quest to produce their own custom tank track links? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brickmania/brickmania-track-links-custom-add-on-for-the-lego I am backing it as I think it is a great idea. I have a few of thier vehicles as I am WW2 man as well as Castle. :) -
Plenty for sale on Bricklink (http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=108115). I picked mine up from Amazon with a discount from memory. Its a lovely set.

I was going to wait for my visit to Legoland in Denmark to pick up these sets in June if they were available. Anyone have any news on a release date for Europe?

Very nice indeed. :)

Ever been confused by the VIP program?
The Black Falcon replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wait until you buy stuff in different countries using what you think are the same VIP details. Hey presto! You have VIP points for different countries that cannot be merged. You also end up with different card numbers etc. Basically different accounts. Its like having Lego Euros and Lego Pounds etc. I had to ring them up to find out what was going on. It got even weirder but I think I will leave the rest of it for another day..... -
Very nice indeed!
