It depends. Every seller designates which forms of payment they accept, though plenty of them do accept money orders. I have sent money orders for Bricklink purchases many a time.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Some of these figures look really good. Like the Elf, gotta love the elf. And the fact that the weird outer-space guy has a Blacktron symbol on his torso. Still, I probably won't get any, but LEGO is doing a great job designing them. -
You would want Ahsoka's JSF to be re-released? Why?
-
Ah, you're right. Since we moved to the new board I have never become accustomed to all the new features. So now I know. Lordofdragons, do you really hate this set?

Well, I think it was unrealistic to hope for an Eta-2 anyway, since Mace's Eta-2 only every appeared in the old Clone Wars TV show, and LEGO doesn't make sets based off of the old show. If it had shown up in EpIII, then perhaps we could've wished for it. lEGO's model is certainly not as boring as the one in the show, but it doesn't look stunning either. I would say it's probably ugliest of the four, although Anakin's doesn't have the most eye-catching color scheme either. Really, I think this set would have been better if it had been Obi-Wan's JSF, scrapped the battle droids on STAPs, and thrown in Mace and his Droid. That would've fit with the episode where Mace and Obi get trapped (minus the tactical Droid, of course, but it's great to get him). Sure, some people might not want another Obi, but I'd take him over Battle Droids. Maybe they could've designed an angrier face for him. Still, this set offers some good stuff like Mace and the Tactical Droid, and Mace's droid is sure to be awesome once clearer pics come out.

Wait wait wait. Who voted for "Like having the Crutiatis Curse performed on me?" Was that person serious in voting that way, and, if so, may I ask why? I can understand if you think the set is average, but terrible?

Today, with the help of a 40% off Borders coupon and an $83 Borders gift card I've had lying around for a year, I bought the 4842 Hogwarts Castle for $12. Not bad.

U.S. Borders Coupon Today and Tomorrow only! October 8 & 9 Get it while it's hot! Today (10/08) and tomorrow (10/09) you can use this 40% Borders Rewards coupon if you have a rewards membership! Even though the HP sets are marked up, that still brings the Hogwarts Castle down to $90 before tax, a savings of $40 over RRP. It brings the train down to $57, and the other sets will also be cheaper, obviously. Or you could use it on Borders' Star Wars sets as well, but whatever you use it on, hurry! -

A heads-up, HP sets have appeared at Borders in the US, at least at the one I went to. I didn't check all the prices since I already have some of the sets, but: Castle - $150 Train - $95 Quidditch - $25 These markups look bad at face value but when more of those 33% or 40% off coupons come out they will still make for some good deals. -
I totally agree, Oky. Besides for coming with a whole (made-up) Hogsmeade station, I really find nothing special about the motorized one at all. In fact, it was exactly the same as the non-motorized one that came out in the very same wave, except that it had a coal car. Honestly, though, it was the same crappy model, and just had the premium price of coming with track and motorization. Seems about as easy to motorize the new one, with 9V anyway. I'm not sure how PF would work.

What do you mean? I read that second article and J.K. Rowling says she does not plan to write any more books, even though she knows she could. Where are you reading that there are two more planned?

Have you seen any HP sets at Borders yet? This question goes for anybody in the U.S. as well. I have been checking my local Borders very frequently hoping that the HP sets will show up, but it's never a sure bet what Borders will bring in. Anybody else spotted them? -
It's actually from Chamber of Secrets, but it's all good. Superb MOC LegoLyons. You've perfectly created an earthy, packed feel that I associate with the greenhouse. All of those little plants you've created are superb! I especially like you Sprout figure, you did her thick robes very well. I hope now that you've made this MOC you'll continue to make more soon!

Why are you sad that LEGO did not promote the sets so heavily? If they don't sell fast then perhaps they will go on sale just like all the TS sets did, which means more HP goodness for us at a lower price. I honestly did not expect a complete revival of the theme, only a wave or two, so I don't think LEGO's promoting methods have any affect on whether we see more HP sets or not. Are you not excited about the sets because you haven't seen any commercials?

Ok guys, review topics are for discussing the set being reviewed, or at least the theme. Or at least LEGO, in some way.

'All about Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me' Given to me by some Admin/Mod or other. It's Beaker at his narcissistic best.

It's hard to think of something fresh to say among all the comments of 'awesome,' because this really is just awesome! I really wish I had more Exo-Force figs now since their look is so unique. Obi-Wan is the only one that doesn't look quite right because his facial hair is quite different than the real Obi, but it is certainly the best you could do without customizing.

New Lego Exclusive 10217 Harry Potter Diagon Alley
Clone OPatra replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Licensed
Totally agreed here. All of the figures make sense besides for Lucius, except that he was at Borgin and Burkes when harry ended up there in book 2. So, in fact, they all make sense, but they still aren't so exciting. At least Draco should not have been neglected again, and I would've just liked to see a few more new characters. Narcissa would have made perfect sense in this set, and they could've decided to add a little more from movie 7 by including one of those other random Death Eaters that the trio uses to break into Gringotts. There were so many possibilities, and LEGO didn't jump at them, which makes me more disappointed in this set than any of the other six. -

Hmmm… not so keen on this set. Why? Not so many new figures. I know all of the figures that they included here make sense, but I don't need another Lucius, Fenrir, Hagrid, trio, etc. The Goblins are also just goblins, and I have the original two which are really not at all different from these except that these are fleshie instead of tan. The Weasley twins are cool, but are they the exact some figure? I'll need to zoom in on that pic I suppose. Ollivander is a nice addition also, but since he's really not that important I truly don't care if I miss him. There's always Bricklink. Overall, I'm just not excited about this set. It's a lot of money, and while the buildings look well-made and detailed, they're not that thrilling. If they'd thrown some Order members into this set, like a new Lupin, Mad Eye, Kingsley Shacklebolt, etc. I would look a lot more favorably upon it. At least the price is a real steal for the amount of pieces, but it's just not the kind of exclusive that I would want to fork out the cash over. Here's wishing that there is a second whole wave, and we get a Grimmauld Place complete with some new or re-designed Order members. -
You're quite right! That's an odd choice for LEGO, but I always welcome more not-bland Clones. Now why couldn't they have put Bly in the CTT? Oh well, painted Clones in battlepacks are good too.
-
It's a normal fireplace, right in the house. LEGO just couldn't fit it in I suppose so they made it huge and separate.
-
Interesting that they've changed the name of the green-marked clone to Clone Trooper Commander. I guess he's not even supposed to be a Commando anymore, but which Commander is he styled after? He doesn't look so much like Gree.

I do agree with you here, I have some sets that have had their stickers applied for some time and it really starts to show. I just think that overall people are exhibiting more hate for stickers than is reasonable. After all, is it really worth TLG's while to print a clock and a little table and a stove that will probably only ever be used in this one set anyway? The wood boards, are a different matter though, as are the large pieces in the Castle and Hagrid's Hut that get "stonework" stickers. Since there are so many of each of these pieces, LEGO really should've printed them and I dislike that they did not.
