Xander notes that the light is coming in from the window on the right and that the light beams cross over each other with no effect. Nerwen does not find anything that can split the beam and determines that the solution to the puzzle must involve the gem stones. -
Don't forget about our resident Cryomancer.

The Party heads back to the faun's room. Laying all of their items on the floor they note that they have 11 reflective pieces to arrange. An inspection of the gems reveals that they redirect light of the gems color perpendicular to the incident beam. Sunlight continues to stream through the window, the diamond giving off a stream of color directly perpendicular to the window. There seem to be enough pieces, how will the party arrange them? QM Note: Feel free to try representing the solution in any way you wish however this format might be the simplest. A / C D / \ \ H I etc... -

The lucustoid soon returns with the broken mirror pieces and hands them over to Cronk. Nerwen notices that the shield does indeed have a reflective surface and removes it from the wall. -

Sash picked up the batteries and gave them a shake. "Well they're pretty old, might cause a short in the dumbwaiter system if they aren't fully charged when we install them. We've got 9 here, if I remember correctly the bat upstairs was always throwin' them away 8 at a time. That probably means that 1 of them is fully charged and the other 8 are empty. Thankfully I do have one of those etherial volt scales on hand for when I'm making electric eel pies. The scale's just about shot though, I'd say it's only got about 2 accurate measurements left in it. Thankfully we can install as many batteries as we want on either side of the scale at a time. Got any bright ideas?" The cyclops pulls out a strange contraption full of wires and buttons that slightly resembles a mass balance with slots for alchemical batteries on either side. Will the heroes attempt to find the fully charged battery and if so how? QM Note: In case it isn't clear, you have 9 batteries, 8 are empty and 1 is full. The only way to distinguish between the full and empty batteries is to use the etherial volt scale which compares the amount of power on one side vs. the other. You can place as many batteries as you want on either side, but you only get 2 comparisons to figure out which is the full battery. When you think you've found the correct method, state it in bold. -

"My name matters not and it is for the best. Any man can be justice, even a Town watchman putting a blanket over a young were-beasts shoulders as he suffered from the defamation and discrimination of all those around him. I have no love for the houses, but they do hold what little morality of this city there is left together. I will go, but if I find you have spoken falsely hero, then you would best make sure you are start traveling far from this city, for no distance shall outrun justice."
