LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Fallenangel replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
10227 B-wing? The detective novel guy was telling us the truth, right down to the set number. This makes the rumor (which seemed far-fetched at the time) at least a little more likely... -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Said 'large cannon' should be gray, not green. The latter explanation seems plausible, though. Further evidence that this fake picture is fake? The Amidala minifigures shown on the box art don't look like each other (that one in the 'New Minifigures' box looks a bit like Gunray ). -
I believe bionicle factory is referring to prose fiction as opposed to the pictorial or graphic storytelling that is done in the Brick Flicks subforum.

Can't be - Flash Speeders don't sport the giant green lump that the thing in the fake picture has in the back. -
He's clearly a spammer, so I would ignore that post.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I'm fairly certain that the blue-and-white printing with Maul is standard for all 2012 Star Wars toys, not just Hasbro. Personally, I don't think this is real. It seems odd that we would get a leaked picture of a set that we can only guess is part of the summer 2012 lineup when we don't even have pictures of the winter sets yet. EDIT: Found the thread. -
EDIT: Never mind.

And YouTube has been a reliable source for leaked pictures since...? -
Well, we have this... Personally I think an MOC would have to start with an idea. Say, if you were to come across this piece and think, "This might make a pretty good B-wing cockpit piece" or whatever, pretty soon you'd be thinking up ways to achieve the rounded bottom, to have the cockpit pivot, etc, and before long you'd have a MOC in the making. Creativity is key to an innovative MOC.

I find myself looking at licensed themes like Cars 2 and Toy Story and thinking that some of them are too <insert that tiresome argument> or use too many BUPs or whatever in comparison to Star Wars sets, and occasionally even making fun of them. In some themes such as Spongebob or Toy Story the deviation from the classic minifigure feels more excessive than it needs to be. Surely this cannot be the case. Please share your thoughts on this... I realize that this sounds rather elitist, so I ask that you keep this in mind: I am not intentionally trying to bash other licensed themes. Rather, I am attempting to explore the reasons for why I perceive a difference in quality and how others feel about this. I will admit now that I do not follow other themes as closely as I have followed Star Wars, so it's more 'why do I think these sets don't match up to Star Wars sets and how am I justified or not justified in feeling this way?' than anything else. EDIT: Could someone please fix the title so that it's grammatically correct? I can't get it to sound right.

I remember an experience about a year or so ago when I had guests over and their kids came across my LEGO shelf without me knowing. By the time they had left, everything was a mess and minifigures were strewn across the room in every position imaginable (I have somewhat of a concern over the durability of my minifigures, so naturally this appalled me). Whatever MOCs I had built at the time were either in pieces or part of some rainbow warrior they had gotten into building but had never finished. And that is how "Do NOT Touch" found its way onto my display... Yeah, when you get right to it LEGO is a kids' toy, but what AFOLs do with their LEGO is typically of a higher caliber and possessive of more conscious than what kids do with their LEGO. LEGO is to a good MOCer what oils and paints are to an artist, so it seems like one would prefer that they not be tampered with.

I can't believe how many times this has been mentioned in the thread already. It comes as a surprise to me that there are so many obvious details in the movies people have missed - like the Executor in Empire. -

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

I think Brickdoctor was making a reference to Ewan and Liam's acting skills. If we were to keep the '03 series canon, both Grievous' cough and his four arms would be adequately explained. Actually, it may even be plausible to revise the canon in such a way that both accounts of Grievous' origins are kept - say, Grievous first enhanced himself in order to become more powerful (in accordance with the 'revised' backstory as given by Filoni), then was rebuilt with a more powerful body after Dooku crashed his shuttle (thus maintaining the vehemence toward the Jedi that would fuel his agressive lightsaber fighting style). Tell me if this would conflict with any existing canon (aside from the obvious fact that the shuttle crash would have to take place well into the war). -
Nah. While this set isn't the best-looking, the stability and more kid-friendly interior, coupled with the nice minifigure selection, is what makes this a decent set. I don't want this, but I can certainly see why someone else might.

$20 for Droid Escape? This better be a hell of an awesome escape pod. -

Brickdoctor made this comment over a week ago. I honestly don't see what good it does to bring this up again. -

I would have to disagree with Filoni here. It seems like Grievous' aggressive lightsaber fighting style and general attitude would make more sense were it fueled by bitterness. -

Weren't the Sith were thought to be extinct prior to the events of Menace? And this statement is directed at...? Oky: -

You've only been here a few months longer than he has. Are you implying that you're 'relatively new' as well? Actually, I was under the impression that the Mods refrained from putting the prices for the planet sets because they weren't confirmed... meaning that these sets could be cheaper (or more expensive) than Mirandir led us to believe. The same goes for the rest of the new sets, even if a price was mentioned earlier in this thread.
