Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 10
Hinckley replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Damn it! I've been teased with starting towards those danger tracks for chapters now! We were right by them! Why would any of use listen to freakin' Eleanor at this point? Would you listen to me if I put a wedding dress on and constantly threatened and insulted everyone? :hmpf: :hmpf: I hate these switches. I refuse to participate. -
CopMike has been out of town on business. I have to mail him some pictures too . So look for it very soon!

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 10

But the sign was switched... I believe the "danger" warning was just to scare us from finding something useful. However, in case there is something wrong with the tracks, I suggest we walk. How do we know there's a logging car down there? Jethro said it but I don't remember when we were told about it. -
I like you. I'm glad you're here in our community sharing your creations. They are great! This is really creative and fun. Well-built too! I would describe your style as professional simplicity done fun. Great work. Thanks for sharing.

Well, give Austin a carriage and suggest Jethro might've tried to kill him and that might just take care of itself... -

Murder On the Emerald Express: Chapter 10

I vote for checking the danger tracks but making Jethro check the "logger car" himself. If there's a town council member in our group, it's him. His still was the one that exploded and almost killed Bulldog and Austin. He was in the barn before me and could've set the bear trap and I'm willing to bet that he set that scorpion in Austin's sleeping bag. Running behind the handcar would've given him ample opportunity to sabotage us again using whatever may lay down the "danger side" of the tracks. But, we need to check that out. I think the key to moving the fuel tanker may be down that fork. It's Jethro. Interesting you're so eager to get there before we're done inspecting the tanker itself. That crazy guy Zepher is playing is right. You are a town council member...and a killer! And to think I was going to let you play Dungeons & Dragon with me and Mark... -
Ding ding ding! You are correct.

I want to give it a hug! It reminds me so much of Classic Town sets. I would stare at this for hours if it was in an 80's mail order catalog and wonder what the inside looked like. Is there a stove? cabinets? a bed? This is really excellent in so many ways. One small suggestion: instead of the roof configuration you have where the porch meets the roof, I would use these pieces for the porch roof: and leave the house's roof unmolested. Other than that I really love this MOC. Very simple, but classic and almost perfect! Nice work. Thanks for sharing it with us.

It's not the cost of production it's the concept of supply and demand.
-
Dadster, could you update the first post with the specific date and location please?
-
Plus it's replacing a thread that's been around for years "How did you get your title?" People are pretty well aware of it. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

Some changes to the forum layout

Wait wait. Ignore me. I was wrong. That would go in Sci-Fi since it's not a license but the movie is a Sci-Fi theme. See? I can't even keep the little details straight. Basically, don't worry about it too much. If you happen to make a Matrix MOC and post it in the wrong forum, the staff will gladly move it for you. Thanks! -

Some changes to the forum layout

We've discussed this in the path and I think our consensus was to put Movie MOCs that don't correspond to a LEGO license go in Other Themes. -
Yes, clearly. Your help sucked. Go suck a clam.

You're in outline mode. Choose Options in the upper right hand corner and switch to standard mode...

Unrelated note: I can't discuss the closing of this thread, since it is no longer closed and was only closed momentarily. Anything that was inappropriate with this thread being closed has been fully addressed by the fact that it is open and people are posting in it. I hope that makes sense.
-
And put spaces between sentences!
-
Wait, what? Oh! I remember you saying that now. That's not why I gave you that title, though. I just think you're pretty.
-
I'm happy to discuss that. A specific example is needed, however, in order to address that. I think we've proven in several circumstances we don't close threads in such a manner. So feel free to post a link to the thread here or by PM. Thanks.
-
Oh! Sorry! Now I understand completely. I was a little on the defensive already and misread your original intention. I hope you can find it in your otter heart to forgive me. Packing up to move 2000 miles away and leave my family behind has left me rushed and stressed. Additionally, you make a very good point. Thanks.

Sure. Furthers the conversation and gives a specific comment. We'd like to avoid posts like this: or Only because with as many members as we have it can clutter up a discussion and may turn people off, especially new members, from trying to join or follow discussion threads. But best intentions are appreciated and responding well when staff brings up concerns like "your posts are too short" are greatly appreciated. Remember, if the staff corrects you, we are trying to help out. So, when replying to a MOC thread try to give some constructive feedback instead of a short blanket compliment. If you don't like something about the MOC, try to throw in a positive comment first before addressing the concern in a respectful manner and try to end on another positive note.

Aw man, This is one of those examples of the difference between voicing your opinion and just losing control...

I am very sorry that you are as upset as you are and I hope your fears can be put to rest. Please take the time to think about what I've said and see if it's really worth all of this. Thank you. Please, everyone trust us that we, the staff, check in with each other about our own behavior and being fair to our members. Our staff is very aware that online power can be easy to abuse without even realizing it. We go to great lengths to check in with each other and alter our behavior when necessary to be as unobtrusive and fair as possible in this community. Yes, there are guidelines. They are needed for a community this size. Yes, sometimes they may seem unfair or odd, but trust me that we've written them with the community in mind. The guidelines we've set forth and enforce are to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our members. You have my word on that and I can pretty much guarantee you have the 13 other staff members' word as well. Please feel free to bring any concern to me by post or PM at any time about anything. In doing so, please be respectful and civil. There's no reason to ever flip out by post. Keep your cool: that is the best way to ensure things get resolved. I can guarantee that nobody will ever be banned for voicing their opinion in a friendly or civil manner. Thanks.
