Even without a potential LDD problem, this whole things seems odd. Is this even a method that would work with real LEGO (without stress)? Just looking at the cogwheels and how they intersect with the toothed bar, it seems impossible as the cogs of the wheel "go into" the cogs of the bar - there is no play? Or is it just the toothec bar that is incorrectly modelled in LDD?

To everyone I see a lot of you are posting 2012 sets, which is great. Please be aware though, that next version of LDD is due for release 17th January, and I'm guessing there will be quite a bunch of new parts. So, be sure to go back and update the models once next LDD is out If you don't think you'll be updating your model (for whatever reason ), please wait with posting for another week until you get a chance to use the right parts directly. Thanks.

The bowl where the cherries are, are removed when opening file. Probably they are placed abit too far down into the bowl and thus the collisions volumes collide. The same with the plume on the queen. It is stuck to far into the headpiece, forcing it to collide with the head stud, and then it is removed when opening file. Regarding the roof/wall, I managed to put it on. I looked at the building guide and hope I got it right, but I'm not sure when you say you couldn't. In any case it is a very tight fit, and I'm wondering if this is not another illegal build?

[KEY TOPIC] LDD custom bricks
Superkalle replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I agree with Calabar - fantastic job! -
I'm moving this to Licensed since there is not LXF attached (which would make it interesting to LDD users).

X-wing cockpit issue: See attached screenshot. This is boarderlining on being an illegal build. Or put otherwise, in a physcial model the cockpit shouldn't be possible to close 100% either. If this is in turn is putting stress on the "click parts" of the hinges, then it's an illegal build by the TLG designers. [image deleted] Interceptor: I'm not sure if the 3795/44570 is an illegal build or not. It seems like an awfully tight fit. Does any of you guys have this model and can test? If you push the canopy ever so lightly, can you see it touch the 3795? You can also do a paper test; put piece of paper in between the parts. Then open the canopy and see if a pressure mark was made on the paper. If yes it is an illegal build.

About the first post, I can't find any error with the track element. If you take them fresh from the brick palette and start connecting them in a new track, they will align straight. Somes times these "off alignment" issues can happen if you either mistakenly rotate the elements at some earlier point in the build, or if you copied them from a vehicle that was rotated slightly. About the second post, the 4262 is not there because it is an old element. Old elements are only put into LDD when time allows it (according to the LDD Developers).

Making a parts list from LDD
Superkalle replied to Kazz's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
In my experience, there are a few more things to concider: 1) The parts you extract on "Part refID" level are only single parts. Then there are assemblies. 2) You are only getting the part ID's, not the names of the parts. 3) The part ID's have to be mapped to BrickLink ID's. At least if you want to make orders on BL or get some sensible parts names out of it. The LEGO part names are OK, but most often the BL ones are easier to understand. 4) The colors have to be lookuped (and converted). 5) And I guess you might want to load the data into some kind of database for querying etc. -
News of the LDraw world

Thanks for sharing Philo -
Hi there About 2), there is unfortunately no such tool available. Basically what you create in LDD is confined to the boundaries to the program. Part of the reason for this is apparently that TLG does not want the 3D brick geometries out in the public domain. Another reason is that there hasn't been any need for converting to any other format (at least not when LDD was part of the DbM business model).

OK, this is what I found: First, it seems the Lsculpt program is generating an incorrect (illegal) model in a few places, which causes LDD to remove those bricks (see image). But even so, there are a lot of bricks that are removed even though they seem to be correctly placed. In this case I'm wondering if not the color is creating some kind of problem, because it looks like all the bricks removed are Old Grey. If you change those to Light Bluish Grey in the Ldraw model, maybe it will work?

Nice work on that floating syringe Maybe I'm going to sound boring now, but I thinkg it would be better if you didn't tilt the truck. Makes it easier to reuse the model if it's flat on the ground.

lego star wars themes for LDD?
Superkalle replied to Tyler Boon's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hello there I'm not sure I understand the question. How do you mean? Also, please be aware this is an AFOL forum (Adult Fan of LEGO), i.e. we require that you are able to start a sentence with a capital letter. This is Eurobricks policy. -
Hispabrick Holiday Greeting Our friends over at Hispabrick Magazine is sending us all a Happy Holidays greeting over in this topic. They even included a small LDD Santa-droid to download.
