  1. This set looks fantastic, and it has been way too long since we have had a proper railroad maintenance train. I actually think that this set will be released in addition to 7939 because of this. 7939 is pretty clearly a long-distance cargo/intermodal train, and 3677 is this MOW train with a hi-rail truck, a ballast car, a boxcar for parts, a track inspection flatcar, and a yard switcher locomotive. The only drawback I have with it is that the ends of the locomotive are WAY too blocky. TLC should have used (and I hope they do use in release) cheese slopes on the sides of 1x2s, not 1x4s all the way across the ends. Other than that, this looks like an incredible set, and, with the Maersk train, this, and even 7393 and 7938, it looks like I won't be buying much else in the near future.
  2. It looks really good, Taylor! One suggestion though, I'd put the Bank where the Bike shop is, and push the bike shop down to there the large grey plate is, and I'd find a new place for the City House. Nobody likes living right next to noisy jets! Other than that, the rest of the city looks great, and the "Downtown" is superb.
  3. Actually, look again! The IR reciever is in the roof, just in front of the fourth fan! In order for it to fit, it would be mounted sideways. The battery box could be hidden behind the SNOT siding pieces which currently have the Maersk logo on them. As for the motor bogies, I'm not so sure. Either bogie could be a motor with that decorative piece on the side. The other bogie could also use the decorative part and the new rail wheels with cross axle. You never know, but I see how PF could be in this set. Here...
  4. This was made by Chris Salt, AKA 0ldScratch, and he had made tons of great brickfilms, and new ones come out all the time! Every single one of his videos has this caliber of quality.
  5. Yep! I followed all of the instructions in the first post, but still no luck.
  6. Thanks for the pics Prateek! Now that I've seen the sets (or at least the preliminary pictures) closer, I can make some judgements about what I see. I am really disappointed with the Harbor! With all of the containers and things that we got in the new Cargo Train, I really expected a huge container terminal more along the lines of the last Harbor set. I expected a wide dock, possibly even with train tracks molded into it, and a moving Gantry Crane like Launch and Load Seaport, but, really? A grain ship? And baseplates for the dock itself? Or perhaps the worst one; the horrendous crane! Also, the truck is red, which gives us yet another red vehicle, and the dock buildings are blue and yellow, just like the new Bank. Overall, the Harbor is a massive swing-and-miss in my book, and it probably won't be entering my city. The Marina is OK. I'm not a huge fan of the overall design, with the bridge and everything, and I don't really like the blue dinghy, but we haven't gotten a white and green building in a long time, and it's nice to see the return of the windsurfer. I do like the little watersport shop and cafe above it, but I think that those pieces could have been better used on another boat, making this more of a marina, and less of a watersport venue. Come to think of it, a sailboat or a yacht would have been nice, and it would have offset the speedboat as its own little set. I like the fishing boat. It's a unique size for this line, (not huge, not tiny), and the colors are unique. I really like how there is a normal fish and a shark for added play, and the two minifigures look perfect for a day on the lake. One thing though, this doesn't look like a fishing boat to me. It looks like a cabin cruiser, and if it is supposed to be a cabin cruiser, there should be more figures (a family on vacation?). The color scheme is nice, and I might be picking this one up. The speedboat is kinda off to me. It's got nice part usage, with the new back of the airplanes and the hull but the limited stud conections, and very, very round shape, it doesn't quite seem LEGO. I do like the outboard engine detail on it, as well as the two grill parts up front. THe figure isn't great, but that can be changed, and hopefully will be. So, that's the end of my rant, and, as always, my opinions are likely to change as more information about these sets appear, and who knows? Maybe the Harbor will grow on me...
  7. I have managed to make LDD 4 finally work on my computer, but whenever I go the the decoration tool in Universe mode, it crashes completely and ends the program. Is anybody else having this problem, or does anybody have a solution?
  8. It's his back leg sticking out. It's just a really strange angle, but it's normal legs. When I first saw that picture that jumped out at me as well.
  9. Here's a review of the Prisoner Transport 7286. This is what convinced my into buying mine! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZB7slEylbc?fs=1&hl=en_US '> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZB7slEylbc?fs=1&hl=en_US EDIT: Made the link an actual link.
  10. I've got 7286 in my hands right now, and I am going to do a review soon.
  11. The yellow car in 8404 is a Ford Mustang, although the front does look a bit Audi-ish. The red car in 7898 looked like an early Audi TT to me... 3177 Small Car, is of course a Smart.
  12. I almost think that LEGO already has been sneaking weapon shapes into CITY sets. The 7744 Police HQ has 2 megaphones, which, when held backwards, can be played with as guns... Nozzles from Octan vehicles are perfectly pistol shaped, and many drills can be used as guns as well. There have also always been chainsaws, circular saws, and other weapons in CITY/town sets.....

  14. Thanks! I might change it, but I just got City Public Transport, so I will be busy for a while!
  15. 7744 Police HQ LXF file is here: LXF for 7744 Standard mistakes, such as not having stickers and having substitute prints. The garage doors are not connected to anything, because they couldn't be. Also, I had to use the odd "bubble" face on one of the police minifigures because it represented the neccesary face.
  16. Gaahhh... I just got one online from TRU in California... I thought I was so tricky, but I guess I should have waited...
  17. Huh... my local TRU told me they weren't getting any in-store, and that it was online only... Who knows, but I bet they just don't like me...
  18. Hey - It appears Public Transport is actually, permanently, in stock at TRU.com in the US. I just ordered mine, and the whole checkout worked. Free shipping!
  19. I disagree. I have both the 7898 and the 7938 Passenger train, and I think you should get the 7898. When compared to the passenger train, it has so much more playability than the passenger train, and even, in my opinion, than the new cargo train. While 7939 comes with one tank car and two flatcars, 7898 came with a boxcar, a hopper car with opening sides, a flatcar, and an awesome crane car. The vehicles are a similar story. 7898 came with a forklift, a small truck, and an awesome red sports car, while 7939 only has a larger truck and 2 copies of the 3177 Small Car set. On to the power systems. I think RC trains are actually pretty good. They are powerful enough for a pretty long consist, and they are fast too. PF has these same upsides, and is better for MOCing, but the batteries seem to run out faster, so my jury's out on that one. For a starter train set, I'd go with 7898. It comes with more track and offers more playability that the new passenger train.
  20. 3180 Tank Truck No errors except no stickers and no string. The minifigure is correct, as well as the truck and the gas pump. 3180.zip
  21. All fixed! Thanks for the tip! I'll be making more official sets in LDD soon!
  22. 7936 Level Crossing - The only problems are the Minifig torso, the stickers, and the turntable didn't work, so this is an alternate version. I could not find the hook clasp either, so it is not present. 7936.zip
  23. I would get my hands on a few of the police car sets. If you don't apply the stickers, they make for a great civilian car. Beyond that, the small car set, as well as the sports car are both excellent civilian cars, and if you need it, the camper van would work at a drive thru as well.
