  1. Well, depending on how much time you have, the LEGO brand store in Elmhurst NY is only about 1.5 hours from Buffalo, and you can pick up some grab bags. I have a lot of them, and they cost $7 each and hold about 100 parts. These grab bags often have rare parts, for evample, mine had the sound brick from the Grand Carousel in it, which on Bricklink, is worth more than the entire bag cost! If you can make it down there, Grab Bags are totally worth it!
  2. I have had a lot of cracked white parts, notably in 7991, 3179, 7741, and 10159. All sets have just been assembled once and never really broken up. Annoyingly, some of the broken parts in 10159 are parts no longer made, and I don't think LEGO will replace them.
  3. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I also changed the 8402 Sports Car's front and back as I built. The actual instructions made it look all wierd. It's fixed now.
  4. I got one too, don't worry. If I missed it in the instructions, it will be interesting to see what happens when I build my second copy of the set later today. For now though, it is at the front center of the yard truck.
  5. I got my 2 today! I have built one so far, and I couldn't be happier! What a fantastic set!
  6. I got my 2 at the Santa Clara LEGO Store this afternoon. There were none on the shelves, but thankfully, I had had 2 saved for me by calling the store in the morning!
  7. Thanks for such a great review, KimT! One question though, is the train compatible with the PF Lights? I can't quite make it out from the pictures.
  8. Sorry to re-boot this, but grogall posted Toys 'R' Us' Spring 2011 reatil guide, and the 3677 train is not on there, however the 7939 is marked with a "CF" in the availability column. I don't knwo what this means, but it is not the "Full Year" that others have.
  9. You don't go to Target anymore because you already have all the sets they sell!
  10. It looks fantastic, and great job on the details! The cement mixer in the back is incredible, and you caputred it's unusual shape perfectly. Great job LT!
  11. Thanks! It didn't take me too long to do, and, I can do more based on pictures! Passenger trains are the best, but if you send me any picture, I can try to make it!
  12. Are the containers allowed to have roof detailing? Mine has a few 1x2 plates in certain areas on the roof for stacking.
  13. Thanks a ton!
  14. Alright, I've been inspired! Here's my version of the Metroliner one, but for the 7897 Passenger Train. Blockburg and Brickville are the names of the two separate areas of my LEGO City. The train has a loop between them. Sorry about the link... Eurobricks tells me that "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board." If anyone can help me here, it would really be appreciated.Fixed !
  15. This looks incredible! Everything looks just right on it, and I love the use of the Speed Racer windshield! Great job!
  16. What a beautiful plane, and a fantastic way to bring the new airline's livery into older airports, such as my 10159. I will be sure to pick this one up ASAP.
  17. I don't know. For me, the idea of a wind farm is much too rural for LEGO City. Whenever I see windmills, they are in a massive expanse of plains with only one or two roads cutting through. I haven't got the set because I don't think it would fit in my city.
  18. Why CopMike? Why? You've just made waiting for a whole 3 WEEKS completely intolerable! When April 1st rolls around, I will be the first in line at my LEGO Store, and I'm going to walk out with 1 set under each arm. Until then though... I'll just have to wait.
  19. I absolutely love these. They really remind me of the new Amtrak ad campaign. I really hope you make more, especially with newer trains (Maersk, Emerald Night, even 7898 and 7897) Also, I'm suprised nobody noticed that Fire Brigade is in the skyline of the Metroliner one! Fantastic attention to detail!
  20. Hmmm... tough choice... I'm going to have to go for the Metroliner and Club Car (4558/10001 and 4559/10002), however, this may all change with the new Maersk train. It looks simply fantastic!
  21. But the Maersk train is a must-have for me, while 7939 is just a nice (expensive) bonus.
  22. That does look pretty similar.... But back on topic: I am not sure if I am going to buy this. To me, the current 7939 looks much better, has many better features (overhead crane and containers), and it just seems like a much better value. I hope I have enough time to save up to get it before this train comes out! Right now though, the LEGO budget is all going to the Maersk Train! (2 copies and PF for one of 'em) I can't wait!
  23. Good question... I probably think gas for the truck, but it could be a delivery to other maintenence equipment, like the 7936 crane. You never know with LEGO.
  24. Ahh. I always left the Octan and propane pallets in the boxcar and the engines on the forklift. The truck was a jump ramp for the red sports car, which inevitably flew into the boxcar laden with explosives and it all went downhill from there....
  25. Huh? They did! You got 3 pallets in the set, one with smallish Octan tanks on it, one with curved propane tanks on it, and my personal favorite, a pallet with 2 car engines in it! I guess you could say that these came for the blue truck and the forklift, but they are supposed to go in the boxcar.
