Does Anyone else find they frequently cross Themes?
Jay Sathe replied to Faefrost's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I do, but only when it is applicable or funny. I have the small Space Police 3 scooter/motorcycle underneath my City Police Station, and I often put my Alien Conquest guys downtown, smashing up cars and buildings. Other than that, though, I try to stick to City and City-related exclusives (10219, 10159, etc.) -
It's high time for a City Corner 2. Maybe one with a taxi stand, a taxi, one other civilian car, a jeweler (for the baddies to steal from), and an art-deco office building. There could also be a dark blue car, or even a gray one, and if LEGO is really generous, a second civilian car. Just like 7641, there would be five figures. One jewelry shop worker, one security guard (new torso, not the light blue Police one), a taxi driver, and two businessman to work at the office.

It should be live in the US on Monday or Tuesday. I asked around at my local LEGO Store and they told me that all the new stuff should be there, including 4207 and the Mining sets.

Is that triple powered?

It's a real shame that the helicopter is so large compared to the rest of the hospital, and that the Great Vehicles ambulance doesn't fit. Those are both huge oversights on TLG's part, and all of a sudden, I'm not so sure about this set, and all the summer City sets in general...

If I am not mistaking, this is Pierre Normandin's brickshelf. He now works for LEGO, and was the designer of many great sets, including the Red Cargo Train and the Maersk train. It also looks like he had a pretty big influence in the design of the Yellow Cargo train, which he has a red version of almost 5 years before the Yellow one came out.

9VLEGOTrainfan's Lego Train Crash Video re-posted by Multidollar12
Jay Sathe replied to DLuders's topic in LEGO Train Tech
DLuders - What you posted is actually a stolen train crash video. The real one is here, and has over 8 million views! 9VLEGOTrainfan is the guy who made it, and he is famous on YouTube for bashing up his incredible train MOCs on his dangerous layout made with long curves. -
Very cool futuristic-reimagining of a classic train! I can't wait to see it finished!

This is, hands down, one of the funniest LEGO-related things I have seen on the internet. Please, for the love of god, make more of these. (Also put it on CUUSOO )

Looks great! LEGO really should release a post office. The only problem I see is that the building takes up all 8 studs on the baseplate. If you want it to match with buildings like 7641, You need to leave room for a 2 stud sidewalk. I also like the blue design. It would make a good office building for someone like me here in the USA.

Bu-dum *tish*

Start slowly. Nothing turns someone off of brickfiliming by attempting a huge project as thier first. Beyond that, just take the time needed to pull it off. There is no worse feeling than to finish filming and realize your footage is bad.

They've even got a track planner program too! http://city.lego.com/en-US/applications/trackplanner.aspx Now that track is available on PaB, I wonder if TLG will update this little app to link to the store.

The text is very tiny at default zoom, and since the page formatting is wide, you have to scroll left to right for every line of text. Pictures work fine though.

I often try to access the site from my Galaxy Nexus, and I when I do, I always wish there was some sort of mobile site. Brickset does the mobile - non-mobile conversion brilliantly, and I think a version formatted for smartphones could really help. (Then there's that issue of remembering the password from desktop version to mobile version...)

Could this be a new "golden age" of LEGO train?
Jay Sathe replied to DaddyDeuce's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The Maersk train sounds fairly close to what you are asking for, and if you megablocks the Maersk loco to the cars from the red and yellow cargo trains, you pretty much have everything you could want! American loco - Maersk Gondola - Ballast car from Red Cargo Boxcar - Red Cargo Tanker - Yellow Cargo Plus 4 flatcars (2 Maersk well cars and 2 from the Yellow Cargo train) -
One of the LEGO City torsos has a Classic Space embelem on it. 4435 (Car and Caravan) has a sticker on the inside referencing 4433 (Dirt Bike Transporter). A lot of Space sets also feature the LEGO Town/City company, Octan, although that may be a LEGO thing, rather than multiple allusions to the town line.

It's on PaB here in the US as well. $3.00 for one piece of straight track?!? That's pretty steep! I am glad that it's on the site though. Perhaps this is a golden age for LEGO trains again. Lots of great sets, and now track which can be bought per piece.

You seem pretty normal to me...

If structural soundness os not a huge priority, these might be able to hold the large dome parts that Kyphur suggested.

LDD 4.2.5 is out
Jay Sathe replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I know that it means "assembled", but did anyone else find part 52258's name to be a bit funny? "DRAGON'S BODY, megablocks."posterior. EDIT: Oops... censored. -
I'm going to have to go with 7898. Not liked by most, a bit strange in more ways than one, but easy to have fun with! (It was also my first train!) EDIT:

They always have them at the Valley Fair store, but you sometimes have to ask an employee.

The outside is really nice, and very fitting of a townhouse, but the interior details are AMAZING! The detail inside is stunning, especially the kitchen and bathroom. Really cool and great work.

weirdest place you've found random LEGO?
Jay Sathe replied to slovakiasteph's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nowhere terribly strange for me. The best I can do is a random red 1x2 lying in the middle of a street. It looked really new and undamaged. It is now lost somewhere in my collection.
