  1. Voting is mostly done for Challenge 1. Still sorting some last things out.
  2. Remember that this is all based in a medieval fantasy world where things like slavery, pillaging, torture and serfdom are commonplace and do not reflect our views of modern day or historical practices or events in the real world.
  3. Legonardo did give me his files. I couldn't remember what your territory was named though. Penkid, you cannot have two separate territories. You can abandon Lesser Burrium, or you can just build on the island even though it's not your own property.
  4. That would definitely lend itself to an interior build. The key will be a lot of detail and little extra things as an interior is technically easier to build than an exterior, so I will expect more work put into it.
  5. Map updated again. See post below for map Wedge and Hammerhand, I have placed the border between your territories on the road heading North to Mitgardia, which will not be completely straight once I have drawn it in. Also keep in mind that both of these territories are the in foothills of the Mitgardian mountains, not the rolling plains to the south. Let me know if this is an issue. Wedge - what is the name of your territory? DG - the Oil road will still run through Benoic. My goal is to try to get the main routes, rivers and lakes to touch as many territories as possible. Hammerbro - you're territory includes the west side of the lake, so it is perfectly fine to have an island(s) within said lake. Carson - An interior is going to be more difficult to achieve because you have to very clearly portray whatever the build is, and a lot of detail will be required. Also, this will only work for certain builds. I can't think of any agricultural builds this would work for other then a slaughterhouse. It makes more sense for the craftsmen or hospitality builds.
  6. I am still considering keeping some of the old members territories in place in case they still want to build MoCs there or switch back in Book 3 (if that is even an option). Antyria is enormous though, so I will shrink it down substantially if it remains. I'm not sure where CBB's main palace or operations were though.
  7. Map Updated again. Please let me know if you have any problems with your territories. I made some small adjustments. I'm still missing territories for Niku, Wedge, Balthazar, Robinson, CJ, does anyone remember where Rolli's territory was?
  8. I'd hate to make anyone lose sleep over this! I have updated the map with Mpoh, Simon and Penkid's edits. Where is Greater Burrium?
  9. If you could re-delineate them or repost the same picture you posted before, I would appreciate it. The Map has not been updated at any point since Book I.
  10. Gideon - Thorshaven is a perfect example of a large MOC representing multiple categories. I would expect the Thorshaven MOC as it stands now to get credit for about 5 categories. HammerBro3 - Interiors are not required for these builds. Kabel - Agricultural production buildings (farms, ranches, orchards) will not usually be found in Hamlets, Villages, Towns or Cities, while other agricultural buildings (granaries, slaughterhouses) will be found primarily in Cities and some Towns. The Agricultural categories are included so as to show the entirety of the settlement, with it's surrounding supply included. A hamlet will generally be the focal pointing of the surrounding countryside, as a City (such as Albion) will be the focal point of the entire region (Avalonia). With that being said, technically the agricultural building would not be found within the settlement, but they are still included in the basic requirements for 2 reasons: 1. The intent of this challenge was to try to give Guild members the opportunity to get credit for most anything they want to build as a MOC for their territory. The categories were devised with this intention. 2. The expected progression for most settlements is to qualify for Hamlet, and then move up through Village to Town to City (if it grows that large) and the requirements are built off each other, so all of the work that went in to the Village counts toward the City. I did not include a category for Administrative buildings, which is a good idea. I might make builds in this category a requirement for Cities in addition to the 7 required for the Town.
  11. So I have finally updated (even though I have made negative progress in terms of the quality of Legonardo's previous map) the map of Avalonia. I have changed around the rivers a bit so they all flow downstream. Pre-existing Avalonians, please take a look and see if there are any conflicts with what you had thought out for your territories. New(er) Avalonians, please lay claim to where you would like your territories to be. Remember, nothing too big though. You can't just take the whole southern chunk of Avalonia for example. I think this should be big enough for everyone to read all the writing. I will be making further edits to this to clean it up and make it look better.
  12. You can not have multiple buildings in a single MOC unless each building is substantial. I could see counting Narbilu's recent Hermressa (please forgive the spelling) scene with 3 buildings as 2 different categories, but also remember that this will only work for some of the categories. There is also the option of one large MOC of your entire village, but PM me if you're considering this and we can discuss it. You do not need to rename old builds, this is only for new builds that you post.
  13. I will be posting a new topic shortly where links to your MOCs can be posted.
  14. The topic should be titled "HSS Ag: Barqua Farm" or HSS Mil: Barqua Barracks Ag for Agriculture Mil for Military Naut for Nautical Med for Medical Labor for Labor Craft for Craftsmen Serv for Services Sch for Scholars Ent for Entertainers
  15. That could be a possibility. Joint building is definitely an option.
  16. There will be different requirements for community builds like Albion and Sultan's Gate
  17. Congratulations to DeGothia, who got the most votes for his entry for Attack of the Drow, and Hammerbro33, who came in second. Excellent work by all 4 of our entrants (Narbilu and Jason Cicchini as well). DG and HB, please PM me your addresses so I can send you your Lake Town Guard. On to Task 4. This task is open to all Historicans. TASK 4 - HISTORICAN SETTLEMENTS Historica is home to many towns, villages, hamlets, and even a few Cities. The Royal Cartographer's Guild of Albion and the Avalonia's foreign affairs minister wish to officially recognize the many settlements of Historica. As a prerequisite to official recognition and inclusion in the "Royal Registry of Historica's Locations of Note" and "Avalonian Sites and Monuments: a comprehensive guide" each settlement must prove that they contain the minimum facilities to provide for their residents. To establish your settlement, you must post MOCs from the following categories. These MOCs CAN be already completed, but they MUST not already be referenced to a different location. (if you try to alter a description of an existing MOC to fit this challenge, you will not be allowed to enter ANY settlements, so do not edit topics you already posted. you can add a post later on in your topic, but if I see that the topic was already posted before Feb 14th, but edited after Feb 13th, it will not be allowed as part of this challenge.) There are a couple of building types that can be counted for multiple types (a Fishery for example can be counted as a nautical AND agricultural). Here are the categories: REQ - Agriculture - Grains & Produce: Farm*, Mill, Granary, Orchard Agriculture - Livestock: Farm*, Cattle/Horse Ranch, Swineherd, Sheepfold, Fishery Nautical: Harbor, Shipwright, Quay, Fishery*, Ferryman REQ - Military: Keep, Barracks, Gatehouse, Tower, Castle, Fort Religious: Chapel, Monastery, Temple, Shrine Medical: Apothecary, Herbalist, Infirmary, Physician Hospitality - Food & Beverage: Bakery, Butcher, Winery, Brewery, Tavern REQ - Hospitality - Lodging: Inn, Stables, Coach House REQ - Laborers: Lumber Mill, Mine, Stone Cutter, Mason REQ - Craftsmen - General Goods: Cooper, Wainwright, Tannery, Dyer, Glass Blower Craftsmen - Arms & Armor: Blacksmith, Bowyer, Fletcher, Armorer Craftsmen - Clothing: Cobbler, Seamstress, Furrier, Woolen Mill Craftsmen - Specialty: Candle Maker, Wood Carver, Bookbinder, Jeweler, Potter Services: Herald, Cartographer, Money Lender, Scribe, Courier, Shipping House Scholars: Observatory, Alchemist, Philosopher, Astrologer Entertainers: Minstrel, Fortune Teller, Performing Troupe, Theatre Now, the examples provided are not the only things you can build in a category, they are just options. Also, the build must be substantial - showing an interior of one room, or throwing a bunch of bricks up on a plate will not be acceptable entries. Hamlet - There are 5 categories that are required for a Hamlet (the minimum recognized settlement) - Agricultural (either one), Military, Hospitality (either one), Laborer, and Craftsmen. Village - For a Village, you must meet the Hamlet requirements plus meet a total of 8 of the 16 categories. Town - For a Town, you must meet the Hamlet requirement, plus a minimum of 2 Craftsmen buildings, both Agricultural categories, and both Hospitality categories, plus meet a total of 10 of the 16 categories. City - For a City, you must meet the requirements for a Town, plus a total of 14 of the 16 categories. Port - For a Port, you must meet the Village requirements, including one Nautical building. For this task, there is no time limit, and again, is open to all Historicans. I will be starting a separate thread for this once I get home tonight where you can post a link to your topics. Each person should have only one reply in this topic, where they will post all of their entries. You can have more than one settlement recognized if you wish. Let me know if you have any questions.
  18. Sorry for the spelling error, probably because I put your whole name instead of just Penkid, as I usually do. Indeed, you will have one week from when I post the mini-challenge to when you must have it completed. These won't be big or complicated builds, it will be more of a chance to show what you can do with simple builds. The challenge won't be "build a tower" but instead "show me why Nocturnians like pie so much" or something similar.
  19. MPOH, if you'd cast your vote for Attack of the Drow, I would post the next task, which has some similarities to AOM. I've been waiting for just one more Avalonian to vote, or for the week to be up before I post the results. I have finally finished reviewing all of the CH 1 entries. I'm very proud of our contribution to this Challenge. We had 23 of the 71 entries, with a whopping 7 of the 15 total entries in Category C! Penkid11, Kerntechniker and Nabrilu entered all 3 challenges! Great job guys! Niku, Simon_S, Wedge09, HammerBro33, Mpoh98, DeGothia, Carson Haupt, Jason Cicchini, C.J.Cutrone, Balthazar, Robinson and MikeyB also posted entries for this Challenge, which means that every Avalonian that's been active recently contributed to Challenge 1! Again, great job everyone! There will be a series of week long mini-challenges that I will be posting each week starting approximately March 1st, in preparation for Challenge 2, so keep your eyes open. Once I have posted the 1st mini-challenge, I will try to follow up with a new challenge every 7 days during March, and I would like to see more participation than we got for the Attack of the Drow pop-up challenge. HammerBro33 - great job with the figures! I always like seeing more troops/characters. Hammerhand - excellent job on your first MOC for Avalonia. If you guys haven't seen it yet, check it out: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=92337 The Albion community build is still going, I think Narbilu might have been the last one to build for it?
  20. Vlad, I think you're teGiving away Nocturnus' secret pie recipe by mistake.
  21. And it's really hard to tell the bearded ladies from the bearded men from the bears. And there are a LOT of bears in Mitgardia.
  22. All of your modules have been incredible, and this is my favorite section as well. I love everything about it and all the little details. Any chance of seeing this at Brickworld?
  23. That is stunning Jantale! Can't wait to see the finished product!
