To have an aid for building mocs I started to make LDD palettes of every new set I purchase, but with the last sets (Chima and Ninjago) I gave up because LDD was missing the parts (until today). Now I'm in trouble since I also put in a separated palette all the spare parts the sets contained, and for the latest sets I just mixed up all the parts. Is there someone which knows how to find those spare parts? I could guess some parts with 90% of accuracy, like the cheese parts or the 1x1 round plates, maybe some minifig accessories/weapons too. Rebrickable has the extra parts of some sets which are often used for the calculations, but often those lists are incomplete. Building all the sets/re-count all the parts with the booklets and separate the pieces I purchased from pick-a-brick would be a solution, as there will remain only the spare parts, but with at least 8000 parts it will take a lot :P

LDD 4.3.6 bugs
Wolfolo replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Yes I know how the rotate, hinge align and flex tool functions work, I built half of the the UCS R2-D2 and the UCS Millennium Falcon using those features before my pc crashed :P Maybe I'm not so good at telling the right problem, so I made a video which you can grab here: https://dl.dropboxus...20-08-53-14.mpg (750KB) This video shows how a piece attached rotates freely when it should stay in position, on my MOC it rotated not just one, but 3 of these pieces at the same time! At the end I also blocked the rotation and the only way to unlock it is to disassemble the construction :D EDIT: fixed the link because I tidied up the dropbox folder -
LDD 4.3.6 bugs
Wolfolo replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
On both my computers (home and work), when I try to rotate one piece, doesn't matter if I try to rotate the body part or the tail part, everything rotates, not just the piece I selected. For example if I select the robot arm, it rotates the wheel mount piece quickly around the connection point (doesn't happen all the times and every time with a different speed), if I select the wheel mount piece I end up with a sandwich most of the times because both the robot arm and the other wheel mount piece connected on the other side rotates as well. I'll make a video as soon I have time. -
LDD 4.3.6 bugs
Wolfolo replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This isn't a piece bug, but a functionality bug: try to rotate the pieces attached with the robot arms on the tail of the shrimp... vehicle... excavator, and look if you can keep the main body stay horizontal, I had to rotate the pieces by detaching them and then put them in the right position. LXF file Since a similar connection appear on one official set, I would like to see if the entire palace explodes if you rotate one of the lasers above the door (my creation did it once :D) -
Just returned from a Lego event here in Italy (Brick on the beach - Jesolo, Venice): I can confirm that the SW stand was the most appreciated (it featured some 2003 models and many UCS sets), I noticed that Lego seem to put the best efforts on the SW sets as they are bigger, most recognizable (maybe not by kids, but there were some >30 years old kids roaming all around the stand) and with lot of particulars. I think SW it's the main theme for adults by Lego, and they well know it, so as BrickG said, as adults have $$$ they found the right target.

Wolfolo replied to mrklaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi LLL, the design you made is really good, I'll take it for the next rebuilt (I usually build, make a 3D model and disassemble all to begin a new project), maybe with more new pieces. Thank You -

I uploaded 4 more pictures on Friday, maybe they let pass the week end, tomorrow the folder should be accessible, I hope. This, and the lack of ability to reorganize the folders (move the pictures from one folder to another) are the things I hate about BS :( As my Brickshelf folder has not been published yet, I post the link to the LDD model I just finished. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Wolf01/MOCs/VicViper/vicviper.lxf The current status is not what I wanted to achieve, but due to the little time and not enough pieces of the right colours I stopped the construction at this point. I don't like the bottom part, and I think I'll remove it one day and keep the bottom flat (which looks unfinished too). If you want the .lxf for the pieces palette just ask and I'll put it on brickshelf. -
Done too, I hope it will help your work

LDD Vacuum Engines
Wolfolo replied to Boxerlego's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
LDD is missing a "slide" feature, like the one is present in SR3D Builder if I'm mot wrong. That, aside as the "working gears" feature would allow not only to build without bother of the precise positioning of pieces, but also allows to pose the model to show the functions (like the steering) without the need of disassemble parts of the model to put the parts at the right angle. I was building the UCS Millennium Falcon and at some time I gave up because using the hinge align tool it literally bent (like when you use 1X2 bricks to build a curved wall) some sections and I was not able to attach them anymore without disassemble the entire section, not to mention that LDD crashed almost 2 times every 5 uses of the hinge align tool because the large number of pieces. As for now I think I'll follow the bbqqq suggestion and use scaffholding to put pieces in the right position (like I did with UCS R2D2) ;) -

I don't know if this is the right topic, but I'll try :P I purchased a bunch of LEGO Creator sets (from 31000 to 31008, some of them twice) which I keep at my work place to enjoy during the lunch break. This time I'm building a Vic Viper -> Brickshelf gallery I'm stuck on the side wings and I'm not sure about the tail wing too. I already made the bottom (which is missing from the gallery, I'll add it tomorrow). I was planning to build the side wings with moving flaps, but I always end up with a fragile design or too thick design, or misaligned wing plans. I don't have many right coloured pieces now, so I'm a little limited, these are the pieces I remember I used to build the thickest version of the wings (maybe I have some more 1x2/3 plates but don't rely on them) I just want a strong design which is not really thick, but I'm running out of ideas, maybe some of you could suggest something nice :P -
Ever found a piece that doesn't belong in a set?
Wolfolo replied to Sir Walter Maugham's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think I have 2 extra 2x4 black plates on my 10220 Volkswagen, I'm not really sure about that (I built it on one night so I could've been a bit tired and missed an instruction step) but all looks in place... I think one day I'll rebuild it to check if those pieces are really extra :P -
A big greeting to everybody on this nice community. I'm a web developer from Italy with the passion of Lego and in recent times, after a long break, I restarted to purchase some Lego products (mainly Creator sets) and collection models (as the 10220 VolksWagen Camper). I have a special interest in building transformable robots because as a kid, with my cousins, we loved the Robotech anime.

I updated my post to fix the errors according to the rules, I hope, I'm sorry to be so distract, but after 8 hours @ work it's not too easy to keep the attention :P

LDD 4.3.6 bugs
Wolfolo replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It seem they only do it for scenic reasons (for example: http://www.brickset....ail/?set=8184-1 ), but this rim + round plate doesn't work too, and it's in 10220 VolksWagen Camper, so I bet it's the same problem as the rim cap and the 1x1 round plate (the largest ring) have the same diameter EDIT: fixed link as I needed to tidy up the dropbox public folder :P -

Wolfolo replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It's not possible to attach a #62701 HUB CAP d 24 to a #55928 RIM WIDE 18x14 W. CROSS d 4.8 without an helper (a cross axle) as could be done in the real world, for example when using the #6562 CONNECTOR PEG/CROSS AXLE -
Oh, feel free to discard them, I built them because I liked them, and when I found this (ok, it was the wrong one before the post was moved :P) topic I felt in the mood to post them here, I just noticed the index of models, which I missed it because I first clicked on the "last index update" link on the second post, and I browsed the last pages by hand without finding the index...

Whops thank you legolijntje, I did a mistake with the topics (I had both of them open), about the images, as I couldn't use the feature yet, I just used the high quality ones I had on brickshelf, I'll upload soon the thumbnails on brickshelf and change the links. Thank you for the patience

Hello, I made the new Creator series 31000-8 models (only the main models) with LDD, the models should be all right, all the parts are the correct colour/part number (checked with brickset), not sure about the cones of 2 models Since I'm not allowed to use images yet, I deeplink the ones from my brickshelf gallery (just re-uploaded better images) 31000-1 - A-Model - Mini Speeder - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate 31001-1 - A-Model - Mini Skyflyer - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate 31002-1 - A-Model - Super Racer - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate 31003-1 - A-Model - Red Rotors - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate 31004-1 - A-Model - Fierce Flyer - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate 31005-1 - A-Model - Construction Hauler - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate 31006-1 - A-Model - Highway Speedster - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate 31007-1 - A-Model - Power Mech - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate 31008-1 - A-Model - Thunder Wings - Theme: Creator - LXF file - duplicate All made with LDD 4.3.6 Edit: Fixed the problems (I hope)

LDD 4.3.6 bugs
Wolfolo replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Whoa, this was a really hard hit. Last time i checked (10 or more years ago, eheh) when I compared Lego with MEGA, I found a document (I don't remember if one from TLG or who else) stating that gaps between studs, thickness, diameter of studs, technic holes etc were all designed to allow the weirdest connections, it's nice to know TLG changed their mind after doing tests on how pieces react to some before-legal connections. I think I'll resort to other softwares to digitalize my weirdest mocs, and the LDD to build only the legal things. And I hope most of the bugs will be fixed in future :P Thank you for the good explanation! -
LDD 4.3.6 bugs
Wolfolo replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hello, first post here :P I don't know if these are bugs or wanted behaviours, but they limit me a little. 1) Plates and shafts doesn't agree: sticking a shaft (ex. 87994 SHAFT 3M, 60849 NOZZLE, 4697 T-PIECE) in a piece with through holes (4070 ANGULAR BRICK or 4081 LAMP HOLDER) doesn't allow to connect a plate on the stud, also if the shaft does not interfere. Placing the plate first, makes the shaft unable to reach the end point, leaving a gap and blocking something else on another position. 2) Is not possible to connect together 2 (or more) plates in a T shape 3) Is not possible to snap a plate in a holder, this mean that minifigs can't hold maps (decorated flat tiles), but they must carry them like pizza boxes 4) Lack of flexibility on most flexible pieces (outer cables, corrugated pipes, spiral tubes and flex tube, especially 30527 which is needed for the R2-D2 model) I couldn't provide screenshots or the lxf file yet, but these problems are easily reproducible. Thank you for the support!
