Some custom French soldiers I've made
Admiral Croissant replied to michaelozzie's topic in Pirate MOCs
great uniforms! I especially like the man with the axe and the long beard You should try to make a big army of men with these costumes, that would be awesome -
"Hold the line and prepare for bayonet charge!"
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
very funny I think the officer should put more discipline into his army or the other officers will laugh at him just like we are doing now. But ofcourse the soldiers need some time to relax too. -
great MOC! I've made a ship with MLCad a short time ago and I know how hard it is to make a good ship with it. And I made it the easy way, you also made your own hull and you made even cannons! I think de colours are not very realistic but the rest of it is great. respect

Captain's Cabin Contest - Creative Critic Winner
Admiral Croissant replied to SlyOwl's topic in Pirate MOCs
Congratulations Fluyt! You deserved it since you wrote a lot and gave a lot of critic during the contest. Enjoy your prize! We'll meet again at the next contest I think! -
Hello! After a large period of struggling with LEGO I finally created something on MLCad, and till now, I'm satisfied with the result. Hopefully you like it as well! I make this ship in real LEGO soon, with more details and such. This build is still a WIP so suggestions are welcome! My first idea was to make it look like the HMS Surprise, but I didn't want to make it exactly the same, let we say it was a large source of inspiration. A view from the back of the ship. Check how the seagulls watch my vessel. Shot from the bow, there are no headrails yet but they will be there once it's finished! The interior of the ship, now an empty space without any cannons... One last shot for those who missed the previous ones... Hope you like it! Tips, suggestions and that kind of things are welcome!

A small- but also a very detailed ship, that's always a hard combination but you did a great job. And it's also well-armed. The colours on the outside are good too, but it might look better if it's really one yellow line in the length of the ship (if you know what I mean ) But still, it looks very good!

What do you want to see in the next round of the new line?
Admiral Croissant replied to martinsuper's topic in LEGO Pirates
I really wish they (or brickarms) would make a good carronade cannon. That would be big improvement. Hopefully a lot of people agree with me and maybe we can let them make those cannons. that looks relly great! very promising. Sad there was just a cloud in front of it when you took the picture And i think you can better call it "het staand want" in stead of 'de staande wanden' but I may be wrong too.. Masts are always a bit difficult with lego but this looks good, good luck with the rest of it.

Cap'n Blackmoor -3 Guss -2 Patriot720-2 Most Points for Cap'n Blackmoor, following reason: This site is called: classicPIRATES.com, and a pirate is nothing without a shipXD You can see immediately that his MOC is a pirate ship. Ofcourse the other things are also allowed but ships are the best And in a lot of MOC's, the persons are just standing, in his MOC is a lot of action and also humor (fire) And it's one of the only MOC's with cannons in it. Thats also a part that can't be missed. But ofcourse the other guys made very great things too! For example Guss, that thing looks amazing too! Great to make so much of it with brown bricks, very realistic. The piano is invented very well. There are also cannons on it, that's important too:) (see: comment on blackmoor's MOC) And it's just a perfect thing, could be selled in a shop, everything is right on it. (but it's no ship:D but that's just personal. The MOC of patriot looks very simple, yet also very impressive. It looks like a powerful fort. It's really a military building (with cannons!) and it looks great because of the white bricks. Every color is good and the patriot has thaught of every little piece. I like the thing that the chambers are not full of ornaments and other stuff. An officer's room is tidy and clean, and this one surely is. And as a thing to end with: the shark on the wall is very cool, the officer must be very proud of it That were my points and comments, congrats to Blackmoor, Guss and Patriot! And all the other persons made great things as well, but it's to the other people to decide if they get any other points -or not YnyklY

The "Le Formidable" in it's current state.
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
looks very great with all the ropes! now it can finally set sail (alhtough it doesn't have any sails:) ) and are you also going to make the ropes in which the crew can climb to the crow's nest? (a lot of work and not really necessary 'cause it looks perfect already, but anyway.. ) -
My entry for the Captain's Cabin Contest
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
great moc! I especially like the man in the barrelXD and you have invented the part below the water-surface very well, unfortunately you can't see it so good. This is the best one i have seen so far:) -
A lot of small (dutch) vessels wich don't go to the large seas but stay in rivers and canals have these 'swords'. These ships lay very high in the water and they don't have a large keel. So to prevend them from capsizing, people placed these things at both sides of the ship. But that is not the only reason. The most imporant reason for swords is to make the ship more manouverable. For example, when you are in a boat and suddenly put an oar into the water at one side, the ship moves towards that side, is a sort of second helm (rudder?). Ofcourse in small rivers it's very useful if you can move to a certain side very quickly and in the big oceans that's not very important so you'll never see them on big ships. So that's it actually, we call them swords, in England some ships had them too but i don't know how they call these things there. (sorry for my bad English:)

do you mean the one from TinTin or this one, which is easier I think: hms_unicorn.bmp

Nice one, doc! such a small ship with so many details, that's always hard with lego but you have done it very well. In America they are building a ship that's quite similar to this one. It's not really a 'statenjacht' but it looks like it. http://www.theonrust.com/Welcome.html

The "La Formidable" 24 gun ship opening!
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
Very great ship! I'm curious about how you are going to solve the cannon-problem (that there's no room in the ship anymore ) but it's a nice piece of work, well done -
WOW! thats an amazing piece of work! you're not just a lego builder, you're an architect! and ofcourse i like those windows too:P btw, mabye a hosptial would be a fine idea.

you can also search for crewmembers of famous ships. for example, here is the crew list of HMS Bounty: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancest...oty/bounty.html

very beautiful piece ofwork :) a lot of flesh and blood very dramatic happening. they still dive up some cannonballs and other stuff every year, nice that you made it, it can't be forgotten on this site!
-
very good MOC! although it ain't really a historical-accurate ship it would be a great one to sell in the shops :)
-
wtf! only 20.39?!? thats really too cheap! you should tell your brother that he has to make it more expensive ;)
-
nice:) i like those big cannons! and did i see a ship there in the corner? can you post some pictures of it? or isn't it worth that?XD

Which figurehead in the pirate theme do you like most?
Admiral Croissant replied to Dreamweb's topic in LEGO Pirates
the one of black seas barracuda is the best but actually they are all quite bad. a lot of ships had more a shield-weapon thing or something like that or one that looks better than these .. -
Port Augustine & La Formidable, both WIP
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in Pirate MOCs
cool! that looks really great! no big images of the entire ship yet (im very curious about how it will look) but the city looks much stronger than before. its a real fortified town now and thats always useful XD (btw, i have tried to make that green-screen effect in the movie but it ain't perfect yet. so i can buy a real green screen or we just use big blue things that look like a see or sky) -
Pirates of the Caribbean vs Vikings
Admiral Croissant replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
well a viking ship doesnt have cannons so as long as the pirate ship keeps some distance he will win but if the vikings are able to board the pirate ship they will because they are much braver, the dont know any fearXD
