  1. Didn't think I'd do this, but... I picked up a used 10179 UCS Falcon. Only problem now is that I'm supposed to be building an entry for the current SoNE episode, but how can I resist the temptation to build this set? Also got a couple of the microfighters (Falcon, X-Wing, ISD) during a 3-for-2 deal, and an AV-7 at 60% off.
  2. The X-Wing is definitely worth getting for the pilot & the Astromech head. The MF is my favourite build among the three I have (MF, ISD and X-Wing). I like them better than I thought I would, but I wouldn't pay full price for them. Got mine during a 3 for 2 deal.
  3. Very nice work as always Bob!
  4. I do think they will lose some sales, but not enough to matter. I can't see kids going crazy over an OT character that doesn't mix so well with their other figures. A figure that appeals to both kids & afols would surely sell better. It's not a matter of only buying the book for the figure, but book + figure is a reasonable deal. Take away the fig and it's not so tempting any more. I don't own the first book, and I was thinking of buying this book before the figure was revealed. Now I'm not so sure, maybe if I find a good deal at a later time.
  5. I'll end up buying this for sure… love that the Jawas have different torsos. The box even says UCS this time.
  6. Yellow Luke… that idea is just the worst.
  7. I will be joining in when I'm back from vacation in mid next week.
  8. Very nice work!
  9. I'd love to see a Classic Space reboot, but I'm afraid it will never happen. Benny's spaceship is probably as close as we will get... Actually I would be perfectly happy if it was possible to buy some of the classic space bricks new at reasonable prices: - trans-yellow windscreens - LBG wing plates - a few printed slopes with the space logo I wish Lego would release a "Classics" line, where they do a single major set and minifigure pack from the various themes of the past. A nice start could be for example: Galaxy Explorer / minifig pack similar to 6702, but with figures in all 5 colors Classic Yellow Castle / minifig pack similar to 6102 …and so on...
  10. Of course we need another one! Just look at the price/availability of the 10179. That it was available for years doesn't help those of us who were in our dark ages at that time. What is there to whine about if more Lego fans will be able to get their hands on the most iconic SW ship in a version that does it justice without paying through the nose? That said, I strongly doubt they will just re-release the 10179. I just hope that they won't make a smaller, inferior version.
  11. Yeah, there are bunch of Yeah, there are a couple of older ladies working there and sometimes they just put a bunch of new sets in front of a one or two older ones. They still got a Tantive IV (10198) on the shelf (if that one ends up on 50% I'll probably pick it up), and a bunch of Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter (10215) sets that are 50% off.
  12. Found 8097 Slave-1 at 50% off (approx €55) in a local shop, not too bad.
  13. Oh heavens no! The CW faces are terrible… Much much better to go with the regular style. I love being able to mix heads from SW, Indiana Jones, PotC and Superheroes to get some diversity in mocs. A CW head is just useless unless it can be covered with a helmet. I will be happy to swap all my CW heads for various regular flesh heads (although I don't have that many since I avoid them as best I can).
  14. Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to picking up the Ecto-1!
  15. Hopefully we will get some more info on the sandcrawler soon, I'm excited about this set. My biggest fear is that there will be too many of the same old minifigs instead of new ones.
  16. I like many of the minifig redesigns actually. For example the basic X-Wing pilot variations, great for a ragtag band of rebels which are not as uniform as the imperial forces. Other figs, like the A/B wing pilots for example are just so much better in their newer versions. The Stormtroopers would definitely be better to leave alone though. The Scout troopers, hmm… actually I like the new one quite a bit. Switching out legs/arms to make them more uniform is easy too for use in moc's. …and that new pilot from the B-Wing is superb of course. The B-Wing itself does nothing for me, but I can't do without those figs.
  17. Indeed, I would much rather have a new print than yet another <insert done to death character here>.
  18. I'm fine with that, will be nice to see more OT stuff. Just hope we won't be stuck in rehash mode on the same old sets. I'm actually somewhat hopeful we will see a new Cloud City set sometime in the next few years, maybe even something from Dagobah. Hopefully the Rebel sets will be good too, and a nice source of new alien characters from the SW universe.
  19. Ouch, looking at that Brickshow video I'd say there was more of a "minifig on a plate" vibe to the interior of the ISD... hopefully I'm wrong and better images will reveal more details... The Emperor hologram is cool though!
  20. The ISD looks a lot smaller (based on the Instagram pics). Doesn't really look like there is much detail in the interior unfortunately.
  21. The B-Wing figs looks great, love that new pilot! Technician is good too, not to distinctive legs & torso which will be useful for mocs. The Jedi Hunter figs are great too (except for Jek-14 which is not very useful for anything except... Jek-14). Overall a nice wave for us OT folks, and rightfully so after the previous lineup of PT stuff...
  22. 1 regular minifig and 4 droids… what a complete joke! It was a pass for me at 40% off. Hopefully the plant pieces will show up in other sets eventually.
  23. Nice pictures! New minifig torso/leg prints looks nice and useable. I like the droid. The Stormtrooper looks like just a new print. Would have preferred a slightly more neutral color for Zeb, but if that is the way he looks so be it. Hopefully we can get another character with the same mold in a different color later on. Only 4 figs in a 900+ piece set is a bit weak though...
  24. They could also see it as in conflict with their current range of modulars. I am sure they didn't lie, why would they? Submitting it again is pointless IMO, even though I personally think the buildings are awesome.
  25. Why not try BrickLink? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4460a http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4460b
