  1. Great little setup you have here. And a nice overview of the possibilities of combining the different minifigs. They all really blend in.
  2. Well my kidsw have keys to their bicycles to prevent them being stolen. So yes kids have keys. And they are usefull for other things as well.
  3. This a very recognizable story. I think many of us here had the same restart of our hobby. So a big welcome to you.
  4. Well for a "not a great fan" you did a great job on the overall design. At first the engines seem a bit bulky but later you realise it works relly well. And the tail is even better. Very clever thinking on that one.
  5. Next in the line-up of Discworld characters: Lord Vetinari, Patrician of Ankh-Morpork For a despote and tyrant he is doing rather a good job. Ankh-Morpork is becoming the centre of attention on the Discworld. Ankh-Morpork tried monarchy and democracy but they both failed, with some help of a little mob, a lot of swords and a few wannabees, who don't want anything anymore. Well alive maybee. So this is my vision of the Patrician, complete with two palace guards and ornaments. sideview other side close-up As a trained assasin he dresses in black of course, too bad Lego doesn't produce a skullcap. So I gave him a cool hairdo. Next the beggars guild....
  6. Hey this is cool, getting to known the person behind the Avatar. Looking forward to seeing more.
  7. Thanks for the kind replies. Unfortunately Lego doesn't do short beards. I tend to make the figures as pictured on the covers of the English paperbacks, mainly made by Josh Kirby. On those Rincewind is shown as an older wiz(z)ard. In most of the comics he is younger, so there is a choise for everyone. Looking forward to seeing your creations. Up next is the Patrician and I'm working on the beggars guild
  8. L-space stands for Library space. It is the term used in the Discworld books to represent the connection between all the libraries in the known and unknown universe. And since I am a big fan of the books and I allready have a Dutch website about the Discworld under that name it was an easy pick.
  9. This is a great idea and I'd love to be in. This is my sigfig not to be confused with my avatar which is a normal Emperial Guard. You probably don't have the Ankh-Morpork flag but i can live with that.
  10. Finally my Bricklink order came in and after a short while Rincewind was running away from something evil.... sideview other side the Luggage In his most wellknown pose.... running...away All in purist style. Enjoy.
  11. I don't know if it is the greatest MOC ever. Literally probably yes. However it still is a great achievement building something this size. The newspaper clipping says it took them 12.000 working hours to complete. If it only took the two men mentioned in the clipping that equals to 750 building days in total.
  12. I have to go for Adventurers. A great opportunity to expand the Orient Expedition to others parts of the world. I know they did South America and Egypt but not in the way they did Orient with the game interwoven in the whole experience. that is what topped it off for me.
  13. Cool. A nice little MOD with a great outcome and easy to do.
  14. Thanks for this. This looks like something for the deeplinking tutorial index
  15. I think they will renew the license for at least a couple of years. Especially with the new live action series coming up next year. It has turned out a profit for both companies, so no stop unless it drops. But with so many hardcore fans that will not happen soon.
  16. How coincidental, I had the same experience, I couldn't join because of my free e-mail adress and decided to look around some more. Then eurobricks was most appealing and after a long tome of lurking I wanted to jump in a discussion and joined to do so.
  17. Go to http://www.brickshelf.com/ and click "Create new account" and follow the steps. It's quit easy. Good luck.
  18. Looks like a great little spacecraft. Could be great for customizing this if your a minifig
  19. Here are the first results of my work on the Discworld characters. Death and Death-of-rats Death has been made from a Star Wars torso, black legs, black cape and hood with standard skull head. Death-of-rats is an standing rat 'Scabbers', with cut-of cape (about 8mm, 1/3 inch) and an ice pick. Binky is a white horse. Brickshelf folder Enjoy.
  20. I saw your topic and that's what got me started on the Discworld. Your Death looks almost the same as mine. I only have a different scythe and Binky doesn't have a saddle, simply because I dont have the correct colour. Amazing how great minds think alike Correct, Death is made of bones aka a skeleton. However he also wears a robe so you can only see his head, feet and hands. That is why I decided to go for a black torso, with a robe pattern. He should be taller indeed. So I will go and attach a 1x1 piece to his feet.
  21. A really nice design that fits perfect in the village. Always a surprise what comes out with limited bricks, but looks like it was designed from unlimited resources. and that's what counts.
  22. I just bought two Studio sets 1381 and 1383 Discworld here I come.
  23. Looks great. Never trust a thin chef
  24. It really looks like an agile little figter. you cought the lines well I think. Nice use of a hammer btw. Even the republic is starting to improvise I see
  25. Really a good job done here. I like the snowspeeder crashsite and the rebel waiting for the snowtrooper to come around the corner. You can really see the anticipation.
