  1. There's a purist technique that gives better results for almost no pain / effort. I used it for this; (Aden Lyn from Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi.)
  2. It was always a misquote that people claimed LEGO were never making ToD sets because the movie was "too dark". It was just for the initial wave that it was decided to skip ToD, as the other 2 movies provided 'more iconic' vehicles and scenes for the launch wave. Of course if the line had tanked, and no more new Indy sets were made, then yeah, it would have been true.
  3. I'm very tempted to start selling off all my PT sets to help pay for this bundle of joy! Also - full silver dome for R2 and new dome print to go with it!
  4. There's a nice Melee Island here; http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=Romas More here (with comparisons) http://www.emezeta.com/articulos/monkey-island-lego
  5. PC demo downloadable from May 12.
  6. Why? It can be no worse than a standard Minifig combacross hairpiece. Here's Indy using it, I think it would suit Han's scruffy haircut quite well.
  7. Anyone with one of the Indy IV sets already - what does Mutt's hair look like on a Han Solo minifig? I'm sure it'd make him look way better than with the standard Brown minifig hairpiece he currently sports in all sets.
  8. Thanks. I was hoping it was female.
  9. Anyone got a picture of Racer X's head print? I'm gonna buy a set for the windscreens and the minifig heads will influence my decision as to which of the 2 double-car sets to get.
  10. Karen Allen's eyes don't look brown to me.
  11. The one with the bottle & glass is Aunt May from spiderman, but I recoloured the neckscarf with a sharpie. The Marion in the vig is the official one from the Well of Souls set, but with white arms replacing the fleshie ones.
  12. Hi, thanks. Yeah, I have Juno's head and hairpiece on my wishlist for Elsa.
  13. I told you what set, so you could look it up.
  14. Whatisface, Indy's "you throw me the idol, I throw you the whip" companion in the Raiders Temple set.
  15. Thanks for the comments on the machine gun. I don't have any batman sets, but I'll keep my eye out for that piece. Right now it's a Star Wars rifle and a black minifig hand, which I think works pretty well. Great idea, I'll try that out when I get a moment.
  16. Marion's Kidnapping vig (though I need one more black hood to complete it properly) Alternate angle. Plus new fleshie versions of my Indy customs. Some minor recolouring (Marion's scarf, Toht's hat), but mostly from untouched official pieces.
  17. You should be able to figure it out from the 5 or 6 disassembled shots I posted (plus the other similar attempts that have been posted). PaulC, I really like the back of yours (which is all educated guesswork), I think that's closer to what LEGO will have done.
  18. That's the good thing about LEGO. It's not too hard to add a steering wheel to the set if you have a spare!
  19. Looks like the parts you will need in dark green will be available in the Indy River Chase set (though you'll possibly need 3 sets to get the six 1x1 corner pieces). Of course people will be buying these for the figures and selling off the parts on bricklink, so it should be able to be reproduced pretty accurately. The windshield's pretty scarce too in both smokey-trans and trans - just 7 sets listed, and most are pretty expensive. Oh, and the dark green 2x2 tiles may also be a problem.
  20. Thanks. I've also redone the windscreen thanks to Morgan19's keen eyes on FBTB.net. I don't have the piece in 4x1 (nor in smokey black as the Brickmaster photo suggests), but two 2x1s work fine. Plus I've now used chrome on the grill, as there's too much grey otherwise. Here are some disassembled views, hopefully enough clarity so you can tell what's going on. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...ep/ijjeep10.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...ep/ijjeep11.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...ep/ijjeep12.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...ep/ijjeep13.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...ep/ijjeep14.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...ep/ijjeep15.jpg
  21. Screw you, Brickmaster! Here's my attempt... Gallery when moderated (8 images of jeep) Until then, deeplinks; http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...eep/ijjeep1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...eep/ijjeep2.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...eep/ijjeep3.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...eep/ijjeep4.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...eep/ijjeep5.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...eep/ijjeep6.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...eep/ijjeep7.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jp-30/in...eep/ijjeep8.jpg I don't have the flared pieces or 2x2 tiles in dark green, green or even enough in tan, so plain old light grey it has to be... for now.
  22. It's simple and entirely reasonable marketing. A new cartoon series featuring Star Wars characters is going to a huge TV event, and kids (many who have never wanted LEGO before) will be wanting these sets, perhaps starting many off on a lifelong hobby. And kids want toys that resemble what they see on TV, simple as that. Besides, it's LEGO, so if you don't like a head, swap it for a 'classic' style or make a custom decal. If you're careful and skillful with some masking tape in some cases (Asajj) you may be able to brasso off the 'big eyes' leaving the pupil only and that would give it a more classic feel. It's pretty easy to customise figures to suits your own needs.
  23. Not quite - you do realise the Ark in the movie is in Egypt? Which explains the Anubis statues in the Well of Souls...
  24. This sculpture was spotted at FAO Schwartz store in NYC. More images here.
  25. Ooh, that new windscreen piece is just what Luke's Landspeeder needs! :)
