    Indy Lego !!

Yeah, if they're not going to the trouble of putting a black band on Indy's hat, I doubt they'll do the same for any other minifigs who may wear it. Won't stop me adding bands to the hats myself though. Marcus Brodie also wears a similar hat in some scenes. Ideally a short fat black elastic band could be used...

    Indy Lego !!

Here are a couple of rough digital mockups showing that the new hat mold in the Indy line may have more than one use... (more Indy minifig customs here)

In a $10 set, I'd be very surprised if you get anything more than the 2 Jonses and the sidecar motorcycle.

    Indy Lego !!

Because the hype generated by the new Indiana Jones movie will generate way more in sales in an official IJ line than a cash-in Johnny Thunder line could even dream of. It's very basic marketing.

    Indy Lego !!

Like all of the Adventures line, johnny's hat & clothing was derivative of Indy's, but neither Johnny's hat nor the cowboy hat do Indy's fedora justice. There would also be other uses within the Indy Jones universe for such a hat mold...

    Indy Lego !!

You know, there aren't actually that many iconic Indy scenes that require "generic Nazi soldiers". They were mostly goons in the movies. Those with any importance to the plot such as Toht, Elsa, Aircraft Mechanic were dressed differently for the most part, and even the tank drivers, truck drivers etc weren't the jackboot wearing, Nazi soldiers everyone's getting worked up about. I'd say it's actually unlikely we'll get a generic german soldier in the sets, and I honestly don't feel the sets will suffer for it.

    Indy Lego !!

Yes, it's likely that an Indiana Jones license would encompass the first three movies as well as the IJ4 movie. Perhaps LEGO will gauge the popularity if the IJ4 sets before delving into sets based on the earlier movies, but you can bet 'classic' scenes / vehicles / characters would be as popular (if not moreso) than the ones based on the forthcoming movie. And if they're not going to wait-and-see before producing sets based on the older movies, then wouldn't a set with the rolling boulder & the golden idol from Raiders be a perfect 'teaser' set - released in the months leading up to the IJ4 movie (and merchandise) extravaganza?
  9. There will be online co-op / multiplayer, but it won't be an MMORPG like Galaxies or WOW or LEGO Universe. But I guess you may see some Star Wars minifigs appear in LEGO Universe at some stage?

It is not that simple. Thunder has that silly bandana around his neck, and his hat is nothing like a fedora. No whip either. I find it odd there are so many people who would rather have Thunder back than Jones. A majority of Thunder's sets are derivative of IJ movie locations. So let's have the real thing rather than knock-offs. I can totally see a number of JT sets (especially Egypt and Amazon) being reworked for the new license, if it all pans out. I have 2 batches of IJ customs (purist construction) at the start & near the end of this thread. The 2nd batch include refined versions of the first batch.
  13. There was a LEGO building contest being run in New Zealand during April in conjunction with the Toyworld store chain (first LEGO building contest I've ever heard of in this country). Make your own creation, take a photo and hand it in at the counter of your nearest Toyworld store. Each store picks one winner who receives $100 LEGO of their choice. All store winners then are judged to win 4 night's holiday on Australia's Gold Coast for a family (2 adults, 2 children), $500 spending money, Accomodation at a theme park hotel & day passes to 3 or 4 Theme Parks. Winners announced later in the month. Here's my entry. It's based on the NZ entry in the 2007 America's Cup yachting tournament. Here are some additional detail shots: The contest, incredibly didn't have an age limit, nor was age asked to be supplied with one's details on the back of the photo. While I do feel bad entering a contest against mostly a bunch of kids, I figured if I didn't enter it's pretty likely other AFOLs would... my kids entered too, and it sure would be nice to take them on an overseas fun-park vacation! More realistically though, I'd be happy enough with the $100 store prize (over here the AT-ST and Grievous Starfighters are NZ$50 each).
  14. Do the new style boxes even have glue?
  15. I would figure all the 3POs are going into retail sets. Nobody's going to buy a $500 MF because of the chance of a 3PO, but they might be persuaded to but an off-the-shelf set for $20-$60.
  16. So, we all know LEGO uses bag weights to determine that they have the correct pieces in a box. Therefore we've just got to take some accurate scales into the stores, figure out the normal weights of the 2007 lines, and then weigh all the 2007 LEGO boxes on the shelf until we find one with an extra 3PO minifig weight added. Easy! ;-)
  17. I doubt any Falcons will include a metalised 3PO, as it's pretty clear these are going into retail boxes.
  18. The 14k gold droids will be given away as contest prizes on lego.com. We don't know how yet, or even if people outside the US will be allowed to enter. So the 14k Gold droids are not like Willy Wonka tickets at all. The 10,000 gold coated 3POs though are a different story...
  19. 95% of the audience wouldn't get it. That would only mean anything to Star Wars EU fans.
  20. The new movie (which has not yet begun production) is said to be set in the 1950s with Russians as the main enemy. Makes sense given the age of Ford / Jones. And there is no confirmation Natalie Portman will be in the movie. People are talking about years-old rumours as if they are fact. Stay up to date with the actual news here at theraider.net I can absolutely see LEGO resurrecting the Adventurers line but with an Indiana Jones branding and fleshie figs. You could make a vast number of Indy Jones locations and vehicles from the existing Adventurers brick palate. Were there not a couple of Jurassic Park III branded 'LEGO studio' sets? So there's already a relationship with Spielberg (already a Spielberg minifig) so an IJ line could in fact be made as a LEGO Studios subtheme. I would envisage a number of sets from IJ4, plus a few 'classic' scenes from the first 3 movies. I have actually made quite a few IJ minifigs. You can see the rest here (many have subsequently been refined and reworked after a couple of brickshelf orders, I really must update that thread with the updated images!).
  21. Leia's signature move is a face-slap. Unsure what Han's is yet.
  22. In game. Follow my link and read my opening post in the thread - I have written a tutorial so anyone with some basic knowledge of copying / pasting files and using photoshop or similar can do it for themselves. And to bring this back on topic... ;-) I have extracted and cleaned up some of the screenshots from that scan; Click images for full size.
  23. Thanks for the scan! Here's something that may interest those of you with the PC version of the first LEGO SW game until the sequel is releaed... Modding Minifigs in the LEGO Star Wars videogame :-)
  24. For those of you who don't visit FBTB that often, the recent SW LEGO webcomic contest has closed. Some very good entries in amongst the 14 submissions. Gallery of all 14 entries here; http://www.flickr.com/photos/no_onions/set...57594056771951/ Bit of a pain to navagate, and you need to click on a few links to pull up the full sized versions too (which is worth the effort, the default view makes some of the text hard to read on some entries). Then voting here (for registered members) if you're so inclined; http://www.fbtbforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=9999 Enjoy!
  25. Surely too close / similar to Harry Potter for LEGO to even consider.
