  1. I can see both sides of the high SP argument; it creates a lot of problems balance-wise when the team has one really high SP character while the others have limited or none. Like darkdragon said though, it would have to be up the QM's to recruit a balanced party where the enemies would be enough of a challenge for the whole group (or create one really strong enemy each round that would force the high SP character to take a free-hit from).
  2. Xander walks into the Hall, visibly tired from the events that had transpired in Dastan. Taking his notice that he had written earlier out of his back pocket, he walked over to the message board and posted it: "Selling or trading the following items: -Robe of the Pongcanis Champion (WP: 1Front Row)(SP: 1Back Row) -Double-Sided Battle Ax (WP:6, Aim) -Sword of Ancestral Hatred (WP:5, +1 WP for every kill) Price is negotiable, any interested parties are urged to message me directly with any serious offers." Xander also noted the sign up sheet for the open quests that were hiring heroes; he proceeded to sign his name under Quests #40, #44, and #46. Retiring to a less populated area of the hall, he waited for any offers that might come his way.
  3. Thanks again for hosting, Jim (and the other QM's as well), it was an awesome quest!
  4. Xander smiled to himself; the female Rito sure had a distinct air about her. He turned to Flavius, giving a salute to the mighty warrior that was not unlike himself. He then addressed Nikolai. "Thank you friend, it is quite the kind gesture to honor the original payment that was agreed upon. May Dastan prosper for ages to come." Xander added the gold to his pouch, walking away from the palace that had given him so many memories.
  5. Xander listened to what the emperor had to say. Speaking up, he began: "I am not a man of much wisdom, but I do what I believe is best for the majority. I think you are a man that has a grand, yet unobtainable plan; what you say is true, all peoples of Dastan should be represented by the establishment they live under. However, your means of proving this point was both reckless and ill conceived. What has been done cannot be undone -- however, the future of Dastan has yet to be decided. Civilizations cannot survive with a select few making decisions; laws must be agreed upon by the majority." Pausing to breath, Xander continued in a more resolute tone. "What you have done has led to thousands of lost lives. The very people you were looking out for have perished. Dastan can continue to thrive, though it seems you have made your decision. I vote to banish Emperor Emeraldo from Dastan, never to return to the land again."
  6. Can't wait to see Atramor begging to get the last hit in on every enemy he faces.
  7. Actually I'm not going to be a Raider, so it's a bit useless to me. But now I know this weapon is popular...may the highest bidder win!
  8. OOC: Not in the cards, sorry. Is the WP increase permanent for every foe you beat? "I have no interest in bombs, but I appreciate the offer." OOC: Stop trying to rip me off.
  9. Xander slowly shook his head; even after everything he had done, the treacherous emperor was seemingly content with his actions. He waited until someone more eloquent with words addressed the emperor; in the meantime, he kept his weapons at the ready in case any interrogation escalated.
  10. Xander closed his eyes for several seconds, meditating on what had just transpired; there had been much death and chaos, but at the end of the day it appeared the right side had won. Hearing the sound of metal clashing with marble beneath his feet, he was interrupted from his thoughts by the tan ogre walking away from him, leaving behind a menacing blade. Staring down at his feet, he knelt down to pick it up with both hands. This blade was not right -- it did not suit his morals, his spirit. Turning to Skrall while addressing the group, Xander began to speak. "I cannot take this Sword of Ancestral Hatred. Its past is something I do not wish to associate myself with; I will gladly trade this weapon with someone who is more willing to bear its responsibility." OOC: A knight/rogue weapon? What am I supposed to do with this trash?
  11. Xander was locked in battle with Lucan, repeating his attack from the front row.
  12. Xander was angry at himself for missing his target; hoping for better results, he continued to attack Lucan from the front row.
  13. Noticing several of his allies targeting Lamorak, Xander turns his attention to Lord Lucan with an attack from the front row.
  14. Xander breathed heavily; something had gotten ahold of him, like a primordial being within his soul. There were no longer foes to defeat, only prey. He sensed a deeper connection to his ancestral past -- a lone hunter, seeking out vengeance. The feeling was not unwelcome, though Xander pushed these intense images from his mind long enough to aim an attack on Sir Lamorak from the front row. "Thank you friends, but it has been a team effort and I would not have been in this position if it wasn't for you all," Xander says as he grips his club even more firmly. After the battle, he thought to himself, he would have to collect his thoughts and self reflect on his journey thus far and what the future held.
  15. My luck's about to dry up, I can feel it. And I almost half suspect the QM's are giving us good rolls just to wrap up this 100-page quest... #conspiracytheory
  16. Xander arrives at the south corridor just in time to see a flood of enemies enter the room as well; readying his club, he clenches his jaw and attacks rogue pikeman B from the front row.
  17. 18. "Isabella, do you think you can manage this elite guard by yourself? It sounds like they need help in the south corridor, and with my horse I can reach them quickly." Xander hurriedly hangs his club on his back, getting on his horse and moving to the south corridor (unless Isabella needs me). OOC: I can use my horse in here, right Brickdoctor? How many moves am I away from the south corridor, two (aka one on my horse)?
  19. Xander paused long enough to bid farewell to Nerwen and Denerii; he wished them speed and good luck, for they were going to encounter even more formidable foes in another part of the palace. Turning to Isabella he says, "Let's finish off these last two guards quickly so we can help our fellow heroes." He then continued to attack the elite guard from the front row.
  20. To gouge or not to gouge... Thanks Sandy for holding this raffle; it's something that you didn't have to do, but it was a really nice gesture to those that make this game fun. And also a special thanks to KimT for providing my prize.
  21. OOC: What was my other roll, since I'm lucky? Xander turned to Nerwen; "I'll try, no guarantees though," he said as he managed a smile. He continued his assault on the elite guard, attacking from the front row.
  22. I wasn't criticizing, I was just asking questions to clarify and suggesting alternatives to the way the quest operates; and it's nice to know you've put in safe-guards to deter people from abusing the system, though there was no way to read your mind and know that before I posted. I thought you were always looking for ways to improve the game, but with hostile responses like this I guess I'll keep my mouth shut in the future.
  23. OOC: To go along with that, Denerii shouldn't have taken a free hit since they were stunned, right? Xander looked up suddenly; he felt the ground beneath him shake slightly, and he heard a familiar explosion go off in a distant hall of the palace. Shaking his head slightly to erase that recent memory, he once again targets the elite guard with an attack from the front row.
  24. Does anyone else think getting items and experience after each round of the unlimited quest is a bit much? Or will items only be distributed every x-amount of rounds? I say this because without any significant roleplaying or story to push, heroes in active-posting groups will grow really quickly. Perhaps people on that quest could gain half experience instead? Just wondering because if it's loot and exp. someone is after, they may disregard other quests and just stick with the neverending forever.
  25. Xander saw Nerwen and Denerii focusing on the imperial guards; hefting his club, he spins around to the elite guard, attacking from the front row.
