Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Sir Dillon replied to DoubleT's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The post below contains some slight spoilers, so if you haven't watched the movie yet, I wouldn't suggest reading it. (highlight to read) -
Hello, der seb, welcome to EB. :-) This is a very nice creation, and very clever. Even with all your pictures of the inside, I still can't figure out how it works. *wacko* Great job!

And so the plot thickens... 8-

Project 1024 - Part 2: Gatling's Stronghold
Sir Dillon replied to ApophisV's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very nice work, Apo. Like Norro stated, this a very nicely thought out creation (or at least appears to be), I love all the details you put in it. The whole shape is neat, and I'm liking the segmented feel you've given it. The birds, figures, and all the boxes and equipment scattered around make the scene feel very real and alive. While I understand what Sne means about the tube, I really like the way the water tower is now, and hope you don't change it. I few things I'd suggest changing. The ladder in this picture is a cool idea, but I think the rings are too far apart. If you have more of those pieces, I'd suggest making the gap between each rung smaller. Also, the yellow door hinge. I'm assuming you don't have that part in tan, but since there is no other yellow in the buildings, It looks kind of strange. Have you tried how it looks in light grey? I think it look nice with some sort of sign or logo above the threshold, but it looks okay without one. Overall, I really like this. Keep up the good work. :-) -
Thanks for the nice review, Admiral. I always enjoy your small comics. :-)

I'm very tempted to order these now, but I just recently made a somewhat large order, so I'll probably need to wait a bit... or maybe work a lot more. ;-)

While I haven't noticed a whole lot of this (which may be because I've not been on a lot of late) but it's nice to see people acknowledging there may be a problem, instead of either saying nothings wrong or just ignoring you. That alone is a good sign. :-) One thing I've noticed that has kind of bothered me, is that some of our threads can get really long (that's not a bad thing, in itself) and some pictures or important news will be posted somewhere in that thread, and then discussed, so it gets buried deep in the thread. Then someone will make a new thread with the same information, and people will tell them to use the search button, and give them a link to a twenty-some page thread. :-/ I'm not really sure how that can be avoided, though. Maybe if the first post would be updated with the pictures or important news, or perhaps someone could take all the important stuff and make a new thread, and then an admin could lock the other topic? Just some ideas. :-)

I'm glad you're excited, but I don't think you needed to make two topics to introduce yourself. :-P Hello, Chris. Welcome to EB. I'm sure you'll be a nice addition to the site. :-)

Exclusive EB Review: 7093 - Skeleton Tower
Sir Dillon replied to Starwars4J's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It seems the wizard had some sort of accident. :-P Anyway, thanks for the review. I will almost certainly not buy this. I suppose it's a decent set, but it just appeal to me like the others do. Like mentioned before, the main reason for to get this would be for the Wizard and Princess... -
You forgot Deep Sea Radia! 8-

Great job. :-P I love the use of the Modulex (or whatever they're called) bricks. I think one suggestion I have is for you to tile the table.
-
Yeah, I've seen it before. I probably would call it the best castle ever, but it certainly is impressive. :-)
-
Vendetta! *sing* I like this. Some nice details, like the purple legs and the vines in the background. Good job. :-)

Happy Birthday Orlego. You are missed. :-(

I need a good Photoshopper and Sprite manipulator...

It would also probably be a good idea to go ahead and describe the sig you want now, so anyone could give it a shot without feeling like they're committing to something. -
Before or after she takes your kidney?

I think that's also black, just the lighting makes it look like green. :-/
-
Lol. I suppose that'd work too. Make sure to take his Lego out before smashing the place, though. ;-)
-
I say we all go to France for the week so we can get these new sets. I'm sure Yoda wouldn't mind if we crashed at his place. X-D
-
It wouldn't surprise me. You can tell that their sigs where taken at the same place. (of course, one could've just made it for the other...)

That's it! You're out of the herd! And he's doing it be theme, and this is all the girls that appeared in the Adventurer line. (that I'm aware of, anyway) I voted for the classic Pippin. It's probably my favorite female head I own.

I was thinking that maybe because the handle of the lightsaber is slightly wider then the blade, it got caught on the clone trooper, and didn't go all the way through. :-/
-
Very nice Norro! The details are great. I think my favorite parts are the stereo and the bed. I also really like all the different colors. The only thing I don't really like is the chair. Like Shine said, it seems a bit out of proportion. I also like your watermark thing. ;-)
-
Well, you could post a request in the forum, and maybe someone would help you out.

I'm writhing in envy. >:-( Thanks for the reviews, Yoda. I really love the way these are looking. :-)
